My dear, I will advise you to go for ElectiveCS, 9years is not a joke. I TTC for 4 years and my Dr advised me to do elective CS and I followed his advise. His own words was that he does not want to take chances and to avoid stories that touch. It's not as if I don't want VD, but I had to follow his advance and am happy I did.

Finally, my family friend that is a nurse witnessed the struggle and bought dis medication for him. For the 1st time, I can see my son p.o.o.p without stress!

Pls Shout aye if you hear your name, don't forget to update with your baby's gender and EDD if you haven't done so. I'm sure we are all doing okay but just wanna be double sure.

As we gallantly step into the 3rd trimester, my prayer is that it will be easier than the first two. But let's help ourselves by minimising bending (I'm guilty of this one ), eating right, not just large volumes of high carb foods but nutritious foods in moderate quantities (fruits, veggies, smoothies and fluids)

Let's remember that our LOs are rapidly adding weight at this stage so don't be too shocked if when you step on that scale, what you see surprises you. Who's neck is getting darker? Nose getting wider? Milk factory getting bigger? Shortness of breath especially after climbing the stairs? _{Kpekusing getting clumsier?} It's all part of the package so let's embrace it with joy because very soon, we will miss pregnancy days, the kicks, LO turning and flipping inside us and the likes.

How's the shopping going? God's provision will never cease in our homes and may we never lack all we need to take care of our little ones, Amen.

Whatever we can buy before we hit the 35th week mark let's try and get because we never can tell when LO will decide to come. Though we pray our babies come when God says. Now is also the time to seriously start looking into the various birth plans our respective hospitals have planned out for pregnant women. The internet is there to watch videos and prep our minds. Also, let's learn from other mum's past experiences...

Let's feel free to come in here and ask questions, read birth stories and wish other mamas well as they put to bed. May others rejoice with us too when it's our time

good morning our able captain, I don't know the sex yet as at the last scan at 20weeks baby did not corporate.

for the Edd I have different dates based on scan because I don't have lmp and scan gave me 6, 8, 10, 12 one unserious sonographer even gave me 26 DEC.

Yeah, I noticed that my neck is actually darker... Turning on the bed is an herculean task; I feel more weight and harder kicks everyday...

I know my baby's routine; LO kicks between 7-8am and frm 10pm till bedtime everyday (with random kicks during d day)... Though, LO didn't follow the routine the day I took anti-malaria drugs ...

For the shopping, I did my last major shopping last week with cot (will contact the maker next month), bedding sets, breast pump and mosquito net remaining... I'm not buying baby wardrobe cos DH has been saying I want to waste money, as there's built-in wardrobe in baby's room... He's not buying and not allowing me to buy it either... I've made up my mind to decorate the one I have... I have gotten the items on my hospital list too...

May God continue to provide us and we'll all carry to term IJN... Amen!

@feddy27, this is really a testimony!!! Glory to God. I have been there and am still there with strong poo . Can that drug work for adult? Maybe after delivery? Joining with pile now Na work for me to toilet ohhh.... Na Holy Ghost fire I dey shout in toilet(TMI). Although, presently am on Anusol which my doc recommend for me to insert. I pray it works.

I experienced one too dis midnight, I was already rejoicing that finally only to wake up this morning and it has disappeared. I guess it was d pineapple and long walk I had yesterday dat caused it. Am patiently waiting for DH to come so I can try kpekusing too.

I believe you are just scared. You may have heard horrible stories of CS (mostly from people who have never gone through it) or how 'easy' it is to have a VD.
Everyone is afraid of going under the knife. But having done it twice, i would do it again voluntarily. I had an emergency CS (it shall not be your portion)
The truth is both VD and CS has its risk. It is only the grace of God that sees us through.

I strongly suggest you remove the fear of CS from your heart and go for it voluntarily. It's not as scary as it seems, believe me.
And the Nigerian healthcare system has greatly improved. I was up and about two days after my CS and myomectomy.
Your doc is a Doctor for a reason. There is a reason why you consult him so pls follow his advice.

Forgive me but you do not know better than him. If you were a good candidate for VD, he wouldn't have suggested CS. (My doc told me I was having CS right from the first day I saw him at 12 weeks and I accepted wholeheartedly because I trusted him and when my condition improved, he said I could have a VD but as God would have it, Preeclampsia cropped its ugly head so I ended up on the table)
Believe it not all, not all docs like to slice patients open for the money and fun of it.
Your baby is a precious baby. Everything is in the hands of God but if you opt for CS, your doc will have some measure of control.

I apologize in advance cos My birth story cum life experience is pretty long, so please bear with me.

This year has been a mixture of intense joy and also intense sadness and grieving. I got my masters, got a job before I even graduated and 5 of my family members got visas to visit me. I was happy! I was expecting my first child and my mom was supposed to help me with the baby, so I decided they're not gonna come for my graduation but my naming ceremony. At 32 weeks pregnant, heavy and tired, I interviewed for a job I thought I had no chance of getting, one of the biggest Agric companies in the US...the salary and compensation will make your head spin 360. People told me I won't get an offer cos I was so far along but lo and behold, they offered me the job a week after my interview. I was over the moon. My parents were supposed to be here in 2 weeks as well. But yeah, my joy turned to sorrow, my mom lost her battle with cancer. She died! Two days before she was supposed to get here. I ran mad! I went crazy! I cursed God! And mostly, I turned suicidal. I wanted to kill myself. Why does life have to be so cruel?? This was a woman who sacrificed her all to get me here. Her birthday was 2 weeks ago, and now she's 6 feet below. I was almost 36 weeks pregnant. How I made it to full term, only God knows cos my BP rose drastically and dropped drastically as well. Flipping erratic.

My ultrasound due date passed, and my period due date rolled near. I became more depressed. and I would oftentime cry and beg him to show face. I was tired and angry. I lost my mucus for close to 5 days but still no show. On Sunday, Sept 4, around 8am I started feeling contractions. I thought it was "a joking sturv". Lol. It started mellow, but gradually it grew more intense. Oftentimes I will cry out in pain and agony but I bore the pain cos I didn't wanna go to L & D and get sent home because of false labor. I used my contraction timer app and it kept telling me to go to the hospital and that I was in labor but I refused to go. I took a shower by 9:30pm, drank lots of water and ate some cereal, thinking the pain will go away, but it did not. It only grew more intense that it brought me to my knees, so I told hubby to grab my bag, baby's bag and the car seat and we went to the hospital by 10:30.

I got to L & D, they took me to the triage room to see if they will admit me or send me home. Within an hour I started seeing stars, the pain went through the roof and at some point I got on all fours, crawling on the narrow bed. Loool. I removed the hospital gown and Hubby was just begging me. But after 4 hours I was still 3cm dilated. The nurse said they might send me home if I don't progress. I started crying. God, I could not bear the pain and I knew going home is just gonna be terrible. I asked for pain meds but she said the doctor was in the OR doing a CSection and he's the only one that can give them the order to give me any pain meds. Because I was peeing so much and had to use the bathroom which was outside of the triage room often, I was eventually taken into a labor and delivery suite which had a bathroom E suite. And as God will have it, the doctor came in from surgery few minutes and said the magic words "I'm admitting you"! Joy unspeakable. I was still 3cm, 100% effaced. The doctor tried breaking my water, but he could not. (The thing eventually broke itself cos the nurses removed the towels they put under my bum and it was soaking wet). I asked for epidural immediately, but they gave me pain meds first cos the anesthesiologist that will administer it was in surgery. The pain med was good but I could still feel the pain. Eventually, anesthesiologist came and administered the epi and trust me, that thing is the best thing after sliced bread. Lol. My labor started progressing rapidly after the epidural. Within 2 hours, I was 9cm!!! (I progressed from 3cm - 9cm under 2 hours, Great God)
(I actually wrote this whole part above, while on epidural, waiting to get to 10cm. Lmao)

Okay, so I slept off, hubby slept as well and the next thing I saw was nurses running into the room. Apparently, they were monitoring me and baby from the nurses station outside and his heart rate dropped. The began to move me from side to side, shake baby, buzz him and all that. I started praying and they eventually got him to stabilize his heart rate.

Less than 20 mins after, I hit 10cm, I didn't even know what station baby was at that point. The nurse came in and told me she was gonna let me push in 10 mins. Because I was numb from the epidural I could not feel the contractions, so she would tell me when to push. After like three or four pushes with the nurse, she got the doctor and pushing start o. I pushed for a while but the baby was big (I didn't even know when the doctor cut me, I only knew he did when he started stitching me up cos I saw needle with him. Lmao.) Next thing I see is my baby being pulled out and being weighed. I cried. I cried for my mother. I cried for what could have been. I cried cos her missed her so.


When I have time, I'm gonna make another post about what happened post birth. Long story for another day, hmm. In the meantime, help me thank the Almighty Allah for bringing me this far and having a happy and healthy baby to show, despite all the curveballs life threw at me. Alhamdulilah! Kashamadupe.

On a happy note, my baby was born on Labor Day here, September 5. That was how someone from the hospital came into my room few hours after his birth and said the NBC news station in my areas would like to interview us (Daddy, mommy and baby) cos he was the only baby that was born Labor Day at that hospital. E be like play until news crew came into my room with camera and all for interview. Thank God I had makeup in my hospital bag and I had tried to beat my face small (I still worwor tho ). That was how my celeb kid was featured on the 5pm, 8pm and 10pm news. I didn't know people watched news like that oo, come and see calls and text my lil man came into the world in grandstyle and he's already making headlines in a good way.
