What are you talking about? Valentia had a dog sh!t season last year. They were so toilet, they barely managed to escape relegation. Under such circumstances, mustafi averaged 79%...
75% is poor and not excellent as you have been shouting about.
The Valentia of old could play but not that Valentia managed by Gary Neville

Read their style of play before arguing. It is in black and white. Valencia from time is a possessive side.

Maybe you think result is style of play. Look at the image below before arguing.

Ekong made top 11 in the whole of Scandinavia last season yet his passing stat is just 79%. In the top teams in Europe, top Defenders average 90%. It has a lot to do with style of play.

The quality of some leagues are not that great so possession football is not common. If you put Ekong in Arsenal today, he will play the Arsenal style and stats will go up.

Thank you again. If Balogun is in Arsenal his stats will shoot up.

Joel Asoro and Joshua Maja should be invited to the National team with immediate effect.
LOL. Your own is to invite anybody to any game. Guy, we can only invite 23 players per time. And it's not appropriate to invite a lot of green horns for crucial qualifying games.

That said, who are they and why should they be invited?

Forget about semantics. Am sure you never saw them play last season nor have you watched them this season. Their stats this season is just 51%.. It was even worse last season.

Coming from the person who tried to deceive people that Mainz is a ball playing team. LOL. A team "VERY WEAK IN POSSESSION".

Balogun impressed in a high line defence. If you know what is required to play that high and well.

If Mustafi managed 79% in a team that is good as keeping the ball, you want Leon Balogun to do the same in a team weak at keeping the ball.

Some times, you reason what you are arguing. The teams Ekong faces at Norway are not as good as the teams Balogun faces at Germany. So keeping the ball will be easier than Norway.

As I said, you want to prolong a finished debate.
You can take a look at Shmidt's philosophy and tell me if hes the Sam aladyce or Pulis route one football coach.
I said earlier, his philosophy is based around that of Tuchel and Klopp.
If Leon balogoun is posting 75%pass completion for a high pressing team like Mainz, am sorry he's not that good on the ball. Period.

Or you do not understand the very weak at keeping possession. If he likes, let him have Van Gaal's possession philosophy in his head. Mainz are weak at keeping possession.

Bobby is no doubt a great talent but Samuel Chukwueze is no slouch. We will get better at this aspect but Africa as a whole needs to step up. If i were to honestly advice a young player i would have to remind them that they would be missing in January and to some that could be a deal breaker. We just simply need to move the AFCON. Imagine Pep and Wenger having to do without Iheanacho and Iwobi, that could spoil their season.

Hmm! I got ya point. I think CAF has to do some adjustments.

You are fund of making remarks like if I made them. To show how out of touch you are, someone on this thread was so impressed with Leon Balogun's performance. He said Balogun was better than John Stones and I disagreed, saying John Stones Is Better.

If I feel John Stones who is not as good as a lot of ball playing defenders, is better than Balogun, how will I rate him as Beckenbauer.

You are out of touch with the whole debate. Let me remind you, if you have forgotten. The debate was should Rohr drop Balogun for Omeruo. Where you got Beckenbauer from remains a mystery.

Look, I am always chuffed to bits whenever you attached ballplaying skills when talking about Leon Balogoun. I decided I will have a go at you today because I know he's not so good on the ball.
Like I've said earlier, Leon is good at some aspects defending like ariel duels won, he's an OK tackler too. However, his ball playing abilities and passing accuracy is a limitation.
Omeruo has a higher Celine to Leon if only he can improve on his concentration levels. At a tender age, he was already playing like a veteran, holding the hands of Yobo which should be the other way round enroute to the Afcon triumph.
Playing alongside Egwuekwe probably destroyed his confidence but generally if he reaches his potential, he could be a monster for Super eagles.

I know you wanted to just have a go, instead of a genuine obsession. If not, you would easily see that a defender playing in a team resorting to long balls can not have a high pass completion rate.

You can try your best to have a go. At the end, Rohr drilled the team on ball playing and selected Balogun to defend. Balogun played in a high line defence and excelled. Whether it worries you that I pointed it out, does not change anything. Balogun's ball playing in that game was brilliant. Whether you like it or not.

I never called him Beckenbauer. I already said Stones was better.

You can not use the long ball game of Mainz to judge if he is a good ball playing defender. You should be able to watch the game against Tanzania and judge.

I pointed out the ball playing defenders. I have shown you that Rohr drilled them on ball playing. I have showed you Balogun, Troost-Ekong and Awaziem excelled. So you can keep reading articles and stats to have a go at me. That one is up to you.

As I said, you are prolonging a finished debate.

Heartland's season has been very very poor. I don't understand what happened to Heartland.
It feels like yesterday the club got to the finals of Caf champions league. Going on relegation after such a feat under 6years is atrocious.

He should at least be pulling above average stats for a ball playing team to notice him.

That one is you arguing with yourself. Making another statement that is totally off the point.

You are just deviating to grasp on. The debate ended a long time ago. Just like in the Tanzania game, Balogun looked a baller. In a more possessive side, he will pull better stats simple.

You can keep arguing but the picture below showed your point was off.

I did not say Arsenal should sign Balogun. Please comprehend. If Balogun is in a team like Arsenal, his stats will be better. That does not mean Arsenal buy Balogun.

Enough of the obsessive post and go back to celebrating Rangers.

Mumuni Alao and Paul Ogazi will be comfortable playing a Tanzanian team that applied little or no pressure.
I will rather judge him while playing against teams that willtput him under pressure. Playing a high line defensive system is not new to him because Martin Shmidt favours a high pressing system.
If you watched mainz pelt Liverpool 4:0 in preseason you will appreciate they aren't a long ball Tony Pulis team like you believe.

There was never an argument in the first place. In a non ball playing side, Troost averages 79%, in another non ball playing side, Leon averages 75%. If anything is clear, it is that Leon's not as comfortable on the ball as you think.

How do you know what I think? Did I say Leon is more comfortable than Troost-Ekong?

As I said, leave the obsessive post and making up things. If you watch the Tanzanian game, you will see that Troost-Ekong is better on the ball than Leon. So how the hell do you know how I think? Did you not see when I wrote that Stones Is better? I rate Troost-Ekong higher than him. So how do you know how I think.

The statement was Omeruo and Balogun. Some said drop Balogun. I said Balogun is better on the ball. Then you ran to bring Mustafi. LOL.

The obsession is too much. Leave Mata for Mourinho.

Now you know non ball playing side. The same person that tried to make Mainz as a ball playing team.

Compare the ball possession strength of Mainz and Haugesund where Ekong plays. In the pictures below, you will see that Ekong's team is better at keeping possession than Balogun's team. So there is a chance Ekong will pose better stats. So please, rest.

Am not sure why you're arguing about. Ekong's team does not play heavy possession footie but Ekong, getting the 79% shows how good he could be in heavy possession side. He could add another 8-10% to his numbers.
However, Balogoun posting those numbers (75%) shows a weakness at ball retention.
If you understand how scouting systems work, you will understand Leon would not make it out of the scouting system software,if a heavy possession side where in the look out for a CB.

Carl jenkinson was having passing percentages of 86% at Arsenal. In West ham, he is just at 74%. Same player.

That is why, i say it is not a good measure. Arsenal signed Mustafi and his pass percentage was less than 80%.

At the end of the season, it is likely to be in the high 80s or 90s. Same player.

For me, the important stats for defenders is how they deal with aerial duels, interceptions, tackle etc...
