I've watched this video a number of times and the hypocrisy is mind blowing. I give props to Major Taffy Williams, my father fought alongside him on the Biafran side and he was a great motivator. It should be noted that mercenaries were used on both sides of the war, infact, Nigeria used far mor mercenaries than Biafra.

As Ojukwu rightly said in the interview "war is the price of freedom". Every war has one side that is fighting for freedom and another side that is fighting to take freedom away. When it comes to the Nigerian/Biafran war, every Nigerian knows which side was fighting freedom and which side was fighting to take that freedom away.

I'm happy that people like Gowon, Obasunjo, Buhari, IBB who all fought against Biafra and went on to be presidents are all still alive today. I'm happy that they all alive to see the faliure that same Nigeria has become.

Ojukwu has been vindicated, the Nigeria he fought againt turned out to be a monumental disaster, proving that Ojukwu was right to try and get him people out.
It's your hipocrisy that is mind blowing. Have you forgotten that you are also talking about the same Nigeria Ojukwu later denounced Biafra to serve?

I never knew foreign mercenaries fought during our civil war till my mother mentioned it sometime last year. She gave a story of a French national discovered training Biafran troops in a far away south south village. She narrated how he was shot to death by Nigerian soldiers and the surprise which filled them as teenagers seeing the white man also bleeds to death like we blacks.

The civil war is a done and dusted issue. The only practice I want resurrected from the pre-civil war era is the installation of under 30 year old presidents and ministers. People of the age range quickly adapt to a rapidly changing world and would always pull the country forward rather than backward.

You must be very delusional to think Biafra would have stood the test of time. The same congregation of strange bed fellows that Nigeria represented in the 60's was the same congregation of strange bed fellows Ojukwu created in Biafra. Who says the ethnic minorities in the Delta area would not have taken up arms to fight the IBO's for their 'oil wealth' if Biafra had won the war?
Irrespective of how Nigeria eventually panned out, I'm happy we stayed together. The freedom the Nigerian side fought for was the freedom from segregation and division. We are one people. The same black skin. Deal with it!

Of course Nigeria is a complete faliure, look around you and tell me what is working? Nigeria can't even boast of a bigger economy than Belgium, a small country of just 10 million people.

Nobody is coming together to make anything work, it's not a must that everybody must believe in the same project as you.

Nigeria is a failure. Unrest in 3 outta six zones. Recession. Tribal and religious discord. If Nigeria is your idea of a working system, the mediocrity of your type is the problem Nigeria is facing

if you want to get unbiased view on the civil war how awolowo betrayed the igbo race even after an igbo man saved his neck read the book the making of an african legend by frederick forsyth.
You're beginning to sound like a broken record. Enough of these "betrayal rhetoric" fed to you by your village drunk grandfather. Don't refer us to a book. Lay it bare right here how Awolowo "betrayed" the IPod race. Talk is cheap! Blaming everyone else but yourself for your failures is the height of stupidity.

That's where you are wrong, the principle of Biafra was self determination. Had any of the Minorities such as Ijaw or Ibibio decided at a later date that they want to go, they would have been let go. One thing that sets Igbos apart from the two other main ethnic groups is that Igbos have no history of fighting people to conquer them or holding anyone againt their will.

We have never been one people, if we were, we would not have needed Lord Lugard to come from Europe to bring us together.
