My wife is a US green card holder and she want to travel with my 1yr old son to Nigeria. she already got our son his US passport book so I want to know if she will need to acquire Nigeria visa on his US passport book before he can travel back home with her to visit my parents? I want to know if he can get Nigeria passport on arrival or she must get him Nigeria passport before leaving the states? Great mother in the house who have travel to US for child birth and return home should kindly advice on this questions.

Yes she needs to get him a Nigeria visa on his us passport or a Nigeria passport before leaving the us or process visa on arrival for him, which ever you guys prefer, but if it was me,i will get him a 9ja passport or visa before leaving the Us,to save me plenty English and explanation at the us airport

Hello everyone,

I've been following this topic for a while now and I need advice.

me and hubs were just rejected for a tourist visa earlier this week. We planned to go for two weeks this November, but the guy said that we don;t have enough ties, blah blah, etc etc.

Anyway, I'm close to five months pregnant, though I'm not really showing yet. I planned to go back early next year then have my baby there. Now, I want to apply again. I'm wondering if it's best to apply for the medical visa, just me, without hubby, then him and my mom can apply for seperate visas since they'll be joining me a week before my due date.

Or should me and my mom apply together.

I don't know how to prepare the budget and all that yet, but I plan to search the topic for that. I have about $8,000k in my Dom account, it will be more before my interview date. I guess that will be enough?

Please help.

I wish you luck in your next application. And be prepared to defend the question of your previous application when it comes up.

It depends on the airline. I actually called Emirates in the US last week if they would allow one fly without a Nigerian Visa as it would be processed upon arrival in Nigeria- they said they don't have an issue so long as I am certain the Visa would be processed upon arrival.

Which ever way, it is better to be safe than sorry. Process the Visa in the US if you can.

Your son needs either a Nigeria passport or a Nigeria visa on his US passport to enter Nigeria.

You don't need social security for either passport or visa. Just put "000000" there o. Ask about expedited passport. All the best sis!!!!!

Hello everyone, my conscience would not allow me rest until I wrote my experience "in the spirit of giving back".I am a very silent reader with strong monitoring spirit on the updates on this forum.
I stumbled on this thread back in August this year when i wanted to renew my visa via drop box for childbirth purpose. This is my second child, had my first in ohio in 2012 and had no idea of the nairaland way but paid all my bills and it was really smooth. i Thank God I went through the threads and got answers to most of my questions. I was properly guided and was able to apply for b2 medical Visa, was not called for interview. Thanks to@ funtolash and others who have been generous with information. We were able to finalize our decision to go to new jersey and use st Mary's hospital.
PTA hustle.
I was able to get BTA from access bank at 375 last week although there were lots of drama involved, got my card a day to my travel date.on the day of travel which was 19th oct Wednesday morning virgin atlantic, I had planned to use travelex but heard they would not sell without your bvn card and my bvn card was not ready . So I got to airport for 6.25am and my flight was 10am, had checked in online but don't print boarding pass, got to travelex at 6.35 and collected number. I was number 33. Some people were there by 5am. DH had to print boarding pass at airport cause airline had not stated checking in. Anyways someone advised me to rush to gtbank to collect BVN printout with thier stamp. BTW DH and i had withdrawn cash incase they did not accept pos. So by 7.50am I was gtbank on airport road waited for them to open, collected the bvn printout. We paid the cash back into the account after confirming from travelex that they accept POS. Got back to the airport by 8.35am by that time my number had been called cause they gave priority to flights leaving early. They attended to me using pos and said they were not accepting cash. Rate was 386. Collected cash just before boarding at duty free. ThaNk God for favor
POE Experience
Flew virgin to the uk, had 3hrs stop then flew to jfk, got in about 11pm local time. Got to immigrations, used the self help machine and printed reciept. Got to cbp officer
CBp: Why are you here
me: to have my baby primarily and for the holidays
CBP: how long are you here
me: 12 weeks
CBP : How much do you have
me: X on my card and X cash
CBP: where are you having the baby
me: New jersey
stamps my passport and writes B2 on the stamp. Went off to agric, asked where I was from, I said nigeria, he said hope you do not have yam or fish and I said no, he said you can go.did not scan or check bags.
Thankful to God for a very smooth transition on all ends regarding this journey and I believe God to share the completion of the testimony.
I encourage that we keep sharing and helping with information . It's the life line of this missionary journey. God bless everyone on the forum

My Sister's Interview

Few mins ago, my sis just left d Abuja embassy and she was successful. To God alone be all glory. Prior to this, she had only been to Dubai & that was 10 years ago, or more.
This particular VO (#6) was bouncing any and everybody within his sight. My sister was in line to see #7 but the lady no gree commit after being refused, so my sis had no option than to enter #7.
I wrote an introductory letter two days ago as an after thot to the consulate explaining she was coming today & soliciting their cooperation. grin
Sis: good morning
#6: (very harsh & loud voice) hello. Why do you want to visit the USA?
Sis: I'd like to go assist my sister who is in the US during her chirdbirth.
#6: what is your sister's name? Spell it
Sis: spelt TKM name grin
#6: are u married?
Sis: yes I'm married with 4 kids (started bringing out family pic she printed yday) grin
#6: shouts irritably - don't give me anything until I ask u for it!
Sis: (quickly rearrange herself) ok
#6: (shouting) why didn't u list her as one of your relatives living in the US?
Sis: (also shouting back) She does NOT live in the US. She only traveled last week to have her baby in December.
#6: and u, do u plan to have any medical procedures while u are there?
Sis: (for this recession Abi?) No I don't.
#6: (for d first time in maybe this week...) Your visa has been approved. Pick it up in 2 days at ..... grin grin

Phew!
No single document was asked for. Im so grateful to God.

Hospital, doctor and nurses are very okay. Got some freebies for my baby... Had HBP that made me spend an extra night but was not charged. Got my zero balance from the hospital while I was still on admission. Also got confirmation of epidural paid while in the hospital. All in all experience was very okay. Also noticed they are not quick to send baby to NICU. Used a Nigerian pead after discharge. While in hospital you will have to use theirs its compulsory.

Thanks a lot for the information, pls can you send me the details of the Nigerian Peadiatrician, I would love to use him/her. Send to adasky4u@gmail.com. Thank you.

Madam you were pregnant and wanted to apply for tourist visa knowing fully well you want to use it for birthing purpose. You were not given the visa, now you want to come out clean and apply for medical. These people ain't fools. Just know that your previous record for tourism will be staring the VO in the face. Maybe if you had started medical and done your assignments well the issue of ties to your home country won't surface.

Anyway I wish you luck in your next application. And be ready to defend the question of your previous application when it comes up.

You're wrong. Me and my husband had reason to be in NY this November. We'd been planning to go even before I became pregnant. We only planned to stay for two weeks. You don't have to be so judgemental. In any case, the guy isn't a magician. How would he have known that I was pregnant? I'm not even showing.

If anybody has any actual advice for me concerning this issue, I'll be very grateful.

Another thing, I'm an Architect, but I resigned my job last year. So I don't currently have paid employment, but I'm a writer, and I earn money from my books. I'm wondering if me being self-employed might have had any impact on our rejection.

Good day all, this trend has been such a blessing to me and my family. In the spirit of giving back, here goes my experience and testimony. its gona be long (visas to POEs), hence I will break it into parts in other to avoid one very long boring post. We applied for a family vacation thru an agent and on the interview date DW was not allowed in cos agent thought we only needed one DS160 page not two, so i went in and DW stayed out trying to change her appointment. I got the visa, she made the appointment and went again two weeks later and she was not allowed cos she was late, not as if she was late tho she only returned to the car park to leave her phone in the car and upon getting back to the embassy security said she they had passed her time. She made another appointment 2 weeks later now she managed to get in and was refused, all the questions asked were abt me not about her. Well, unknown to us God was at work cos he has a timing for everything in our lives, we just wanted to have the visa at hand so we could plan a vacation or childbirth in the future cos she wasn't pregnant and we weren't even married as at the time of the first application in feb 2015. So we took a vacation to South Africa for our wedding anni, she applied again upon arrival and now she had taken in and guess what? she was given the visa (June 2016). She finally got the visa when we really needed it. although she didn't mention childbirth at the interview, however the application was for medical/tourist visa (B2). The research officially started after she got her visa and that was when I stumbled in this wonderful thread filled with honest and genuine Nigerians. I wish i had known abt this thread all my life! through this thread i was able to streamline to Atlanta and Houston. I have friends who had used DR F in Houston and so I decided on Houston. Got BA tickets in August for first week in Oct; LAG - LON-PHILLY-HOU (its okay to laff or shout at this point, i had no knowledge abt philly POE) as Oct got closer I realized I had to do a course in d UK in Oct/Nov so instead of flying to UK and back then flying out again to Houston, I rang up BA requesting to change my ticket to a multiple destination which they gladly did at a fee, so flight was re-routed LOS-LON-LON-HOU that was how God saved us from Philly POE. watch out for part 2 coming soon. highlight is Heathrow POE

when you apply again and go back for the interview the VO may ask how far along you are and calculate that at the time of your last interview you were indeed pregnant. If you lie about how many months or he/she doesn't ask you will still face it at your poe. The truth is no VO will believe your story whether it's the truth or not. You should read through the thread to get an idea of how VO's think and the questions they ask.

2. There is nothing wrong with being self-employed. an income is an income is an income. as long as your finances (or whoever is the sponsor) are healthy enough to support this journey with sufficient left over afterwards.
