Governor Okorochas Politics And The Ignorance Of Ndi Igbo by Ugik(m): 3:54pm On Nov 06, 2016
I stand to say that those calling for Gov Okorochas head boils down to the level of political ignorance among my southeast brothers which is quite alarming. suffix it to say that for Ndi igbo to attain full political recognition among the various entities that make up this polity called Nigeria is going to be a Herculean task due to 2 basic reasons:
1.considering the supposed marginalization we have been lamenting since after the Nigerian Biafra war of 1967 and the abysmal gap it has created between us and other zones in the country. This singular act which is is politically valid as politics is a game of who gets what but in the process of making demands we end up antagonizing other regions who do not share our views instead of dialoging and politicking as our representatives do,we the masses instead throw insults at them or at our fellow regional brothers thus bringing us back to square one.The likes of Ngige,Onu,Rocha's and the DSP,Ekweremadu are all fighting for our general wellbeing but like I said earlier all we do is insult them all.Must they be in the same party? Is their primary aim not to bring development to this region using their good offices?

2.The Biafra connection: Secession is recognized globally as a right of people to self rule.its also recognized in the UN Charter and I have no objections to it but I must also point out that if a referendum is conducted,I'll gladly vote against it.Many of us(not all of us)want to secede. Good and fine. how do you go about it?by throwing jabs at other regions who have reps at The Senate, the very Senate that can amend law to accommodate our proposal. isn't it funny we are yet to understand the rudiments of politics. do we achieve our aim by throwing insults at our political leaders who have the mandate of majority? or by insulting world leaders who played a role in the defeat of the secession and who will still play a role in any event that will unfold but their role will be determined by the political calculations they make based on what those who want to secede brings on the table. They helped Egypt,Libya, south Sudan and Israel.

Where do we go from here? Ndi igbo, most especially the youths must imbibe developmental politics, its high time we spread tentacles and offer an olive branch to. the regions we are at logger heads with..we must understand our differences and address it.We must support our leaders irrespective of political divide and quit all these blame games.Partisan politics and ethnic politics is not favouring us and will not.we can engage in partisan politics during elections but after elections, support our political leaders irrespective of political divide.
with development politics, other regions may help foster a referendum on this issue of referendum, friendship will spread overboard.
That's why those calling for Okorochas head because he wore a northern regalia are simply not in touch with reality.am not holding brief for him or APC because i dont know how well he is doing in Imo State but I love how he is spreading his political tentacles which is what Ndi Igbo needs now and not our usual politics of ethnicity where the various eastern states insult themselves. Together We can all speak with one voice.

some of your points are valid but, a lot of imo folks voted for him despite his party affiliation. you need to travel around imo to actually know y he is being vilified now.and by the way, no matter how long we genuflect to other regional leaders and tribes the won't ever endorse an igbo independent region because, that's a prelude to the fragmentation of Nigeria.
the way forward is for we igbos to develop our region to such a state that Nigeria can't but listen to us. the potential is their but, the leadership isn't.

Some people are just too pained that Igbos seek self-determination. They keep fabricating c0ck and bull stories, and theories of absurdity geared towards blackmailing the Igbo Nation into staying put with them in this expired, evil entity.

They are not that bothered about the maiming and wanton destruction of lives and properties going on in the Middle-belt and South for decades now unabated. They mischievously choose to drink overdose Panadol that the Igbo Nation are more than ever before determined to leave them behind with their slave masters.

This silly propaganda is simply the handiwork of never-do-wells and wicked, treasury looters aimed at diverting attention from the very obvious evil, injustice, inequity and lopsided arrangement in the polity.

Igbos remain the only group with the most nationalistic tendencies in Nigeria. No other major group even come close to such patriotism.

For the records, Igbos are not interested in sharing a country with hypocrites parading aimlessly on NL as One-Nigerianists.

1* “We do not want our Southern neighbours to interfere in our development. We have never associated ourselves with the activities of these
people. We do not know them, we do not
recognize them, and we share no responsibility in their actions. We shall demand our rights when the time is ripe. If the British quit Nigeria now at this
stage, the Northern people would continue their uninterrupted conquest to the sea”. - Sir Tafawa Balewa (1947)

2* “We the people of the North will continue our stated intention to conquer the South and to dip the Koran in the Atlantic ocean after the British leave our shores.” - Sir Ahmadu Bello (1957)

3* "The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grand father, Othman Danfodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We must use minorities in the North as willing tools and South as conquered territories and never allow them to rule over us or have control over their future"
- Sir Ahmadu Bello, October 12,  1960

Ahmadu Bello, arrogantly uttered the aforementioned statement in a multicultural and multi-religious country and got away with it, and many bigots still hold him in high esteem and even shove it down the throats of other people.

4*

5*...barely six months after independence, Sir Ahmadu Bello was able to say with confidence in the Daily Times of May 3, 1961, the following:
“I’m set and fully armed, to conquer the Action Group, AG, in the same ruthless manner as my grandfather conquered Alkalawa, a town in Sokoto province, during the last century.”

6*...sometime in 2010, when upon the demise of President Umaru Y'Ardua, indications emerged that his erstwhile deputy, President Goodluck Jonathan, may contest the 2011 presidential election, a prominent chieftain of this same ACF, Lawal Kaita, who was a former Governor of old Kaduna State, threatened that the North would make Nigeria ungovernable, should Jonathan or anyone from the South win the 2011 presidential election, claiming that such would amount to denying the North it's birthright of ruling Nigeria.

7* It is in the same North barbaric statements like this were uttered in 2011: ”BABOON AND DOG WILL BE SOAKED IN BLOOD”. And what was the outcome - carnage and murder of many Southerners and Christians in the North, including many Youth Corps members when Buhari lost the 2011 presidential election?

8* That true to that threat, upon the victory of Jonathan from the 2011 presidential election, massive violence was unleashed from the North by a group which called itself Boko Haram and which repeatedly took responsibility for unending mayhem which began with the killing of Youth Corp members who worked ad-hoc for INEC in that election.

9* As the barbaric killings and destructions reigned, especially with the attack by Boko Haram on the UN Building and Force Headquarters in Abuja, the Lower Niger Congress publicly posited that the nexus between the aforementioned threat by ACF's, Lawal Kaita and the Boko Haram's bloody campaigns summarily destroyed any prospects for keeping the Nigeria Union.

10* "It was, therefore, no surprise that in October 2013, following the bold announcement by President Jonathan, presenting the sudden prospect of revisiting the master-servant constitutional arrangements of Nigeria infuriated the warmongering born-to-rule Caliphate whose cause was championed by the same ACF, and who, supported by their allies from the renegade wing of the Yoruba Southwest,  launched a vicious, frontal attack on the initiative, teaming on the floor of the Conference into a majority, and driving the Conference into its first major decision, i.e. NOT TO DISCUSS THE TERMS OF NIGERIA'S UNITY. The rest of the Conference was a jamboree that provided a luxurious platform for the North/SW Alliance, parading itself as a new political party named APC, to fine-tune their violent March to the do-or-die 2015 general elections."

The worst president Igbo will produce is better than the best president the North can produce. Rochas building mosque in the North is merely a political move. During the campaign period of PMB, Hausa elites were trooping into the west and attending all sort of owambe parties as a ploy to give Yoruba that feeling of 'we are together', after election, you see how Yoruba are being treated like slaves.

Op for the fact that you poised your bearing on okorocha what you've written will be discarded as trash.
You would have made a valid point if you've excluded the emotional trauma you had because of okorocha critics.
Next time when talking to us PR advising the Igbo masses exclude irrelevant objects that will serve as distractions so we can digest your message in satisfaction. This one is a miss already.
Okorocha is only acknowledging to us where his solidarity and origin is and we have understood his message and has condemned him for that.

We will build bridges with whom the Igbos are pleased with not the likes of okorocha.

Many of you keep hyping on the need for the Igbo Nation to play 'politics'. What you lots actually call smart politics wherein some arrogantly tag themselves 'sophisticated' is where you pathetically engage in lies, falsehood, noise-making, propaganda, distortion of history and blackmailing to score cheap points over your supposed foes.

It's such smart politics that have led some regions to be led sheepishly by internationally acclaimed criminals and treasury looters. Igbos are not interested in such politics. Many Igbos are not interested in the presidency either. So quench such unnecessary distraction.

The greatest need of any patriotic Igbo person is self-determination. And a legitimate agitation by a people for a simple referendum is no way a crime.

The 102 years of existence of this contraption have proven that it's an unworkable union. We are totally different in many ways and have nothing in common.

some of your points are valid but, a lot of imo folks voted for him despite his party affiliation. you need to travel around imo to actually know y he is being vilified now.and by the way, no matter how long we genuflect to other regional leaders and tribes the won't ever endorse an igbo independent region because, that's a prelude to the fragmentation of Nigeria.
the way forward is for we igbos to develop our region to such a state that Nigeria can't but listen to us. the potential is their but, the leadership isn't.

The campaign of calumny against Okorocha started right from 2012 and contrary to the crap you wrote up there he will win any election in Imo State today by even a wider margin. No Governor in history of Igboland has done as much for his State as Okorocha but the war is beyond his successes in governance. The war has 2 angles.

1 is the fact that his emergence through the masses killed political gidfatherism in Imo State making him a new godfather without a godfather which has not gone down well with the political elite in Imo State. They merged all their resources coupled with Jonathan's influence on INEC and security agencies to oust him in 2015 but he defeated them bringing about another level of bitterness and frustration. The views of their supporters like the Akwarandus and some Mbaise people, Udenwa people, Agbaso people and Iwuanyanwu people doesn't represent the view of the masses. These people are in control of Vanguard newspaper and have been using same to publish false stories while their boys go on social media to comment not the real Imolites.

2 is the Anambra factor. As a result of earlier prominent Igbo politicians coming from the area that presently constitute Anambra State they erroneously concluded that they would continue to dominate Igbo politics but the emergence of 1st Orji Kalu and then Okorocha has battered that belief and with it came jealousy. Okorocha's popularity made him clash severally with Peter Obi when they were both in APGA and in several occasions made Anambra politicians pitch a tent opposite if wherever Rochas Okorocha goes. On this Nairaland 99% of those that specialise in attacking Okorocha are from Anambra.

3 Biafra factor in that radio Biafra was used as a tool by jealous politicians to broadcast ridiculous lies against Okorocha banking on the sentiments of Igbos wih regards to Biafra. Some people believe sheepishly that Rochas Okorocha is the one preventing them from having their Biafra.

In conclusion Rochas Okorocha is loved in Imo State, Abia State and Ebonyi State except for the radio Biafra brainwashed ones while Anambra hates him. Here in Rivers State he is by far the most loved Igbo governor and same in Bayelsa.

Stop foaming in the mouth like an idiot.

Okorocha is a dunce. He is hated in imo state and all other SE states.

Okorocha was made governor in 2011 by Peter Obi.

Omambala is still very dominant politically as we made Okorocha what he is today via APGA.

Okorocha has never won any election until Peter Obi picked from the gutter.

Find the video clip of the courageous Igbo guy who some months ago in London looked a representative of the despotic regime, Okorocha, eyeball to eyeball and called him, "a murderer of his brothers"!.

And he made his point loud and clear, without fear or favor. Even with the presence of the British police and the handcuffs on him he remained resolute and never bulged...

He was proud of his handcuffs.
Can you beat that heroic display?

If you're not a hypocritical liar you would not be bitter that a people seek self-determination. If you're not mischievous and dishonest, you and your fellow hypocrites won't be running amok on every available media page with anti-Biafra slogans when you ought to channel your negative energies against the marauders hunting innocent people in the Middle-belt and South for decades.

If the trash you've just vomited is true, why then does your despotic government expend millions of dollars of tax payers money trying in vain to quench the raging IPOB tsunamic movement? Why do you lots support the deployment of murderous soldiers to go hunt down peaceful protesters in their homes, markets and churches?

You and your cotravellers cannot determine for the Igbos on how to go about self-determination.

We neither have the number in the national assembly nor the political allies to achieve a referendum so Biafra can be actualized. With Rochas, Ndigbo has a shot at the presidency. We can create one more state to increase Ndigbo representation in the national assembly, empower Ndigbo in the South South, adjust Ndigbo borders properly so all the Igbo people cut out from the south east in other to deplete our numbers and added to the middle belt will be added to the fold. We can build some infrastructure in igboland so when Biafra is achieved, we leave with something tangible

Lol. Oga I'm Igbo. Full blood. I won't insult you, I reserve my venom for Afonjas not my brothers, so don't insult me again.

I'm not afraid of self determination. But an old saying says "When in Rome, act like Romans", now we are in Nigeria, we act like Nigerians. Nigerian politics is one of winner takes it all. With an Igbo man as president (I'm not saying vice president because we deserve better ), we can create one more state in the south east and have more representative in the national assembly therefore making the referendum easier to initiate, we can adjust the borders of our zone to accommodate our brothers in the other zone, we can make giant steps to developing our region, so when we leave, we leave with something.

have you noticed that the most divisive igbo persons on nairaland are all against Biafrra ? I wanted to write a comprehensive analogy to explain why Chino, abagworo co who are against Biafrra are the most divisive igbo persons here on nairaland and outside! all the pro ipob/biafrra can never stirr division amongst igbos! go and check it! tomorrow you will hear them remind us how igbos don't love themselves, and biafrra won't work, yet they're the core problem! so here is my conclusion on this any igbo man who is against Biafrra are those that are bringing shame and division amongst igbos!! A very good example are Abagworo and chino11! Both clowns hate anything Bia let alone fra, both of them don't want any igbo unity! Both are the most never do well, "childmen" we have here... exclude these bunch of misbehaviours you see a very vibrant and peaceful igbo nation!!

I don't want to go into details! But Rochas is doing a lot of harm to igbo land!

Absolutely NOTHING!
