The drugs that you take for pains, malaria, HIV and Flu were created through the medical and science community. These innovations emanate from years of study of the human body and a series of drug trials to test the efficacy of these medicines.

Gandhi the world renowned Buddhist is a man we all adore and respect. He refused his wife from medicating when she was ill, instead he implored her to have faith in miraculous healing, in the end she succumbed to her illness. Fast forward to a few years, Gandhi, gets ill and do you know what followed? He took medicines to cure himself, the story of miraculous healings was thrown to the bin. This is the story of the human race when push comes to shove and the power of healing medication brings.

The whole concept of Witchery* is well known in Psychiatry and official diagnoses vary between a range of mental illnesses. Come to the Federal Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba and see numerous witches in action. I was one of them. Before I got treatment.

You see there is something called psychosis or delusions of reference, which is what happens to the best of us when we have so called supernatural experiences. I’ve been there. It all starts and ends with the mind and all stems from a place of intense fear that causes the brain’s neurotransmitters to misfire. You see, the reason why the story of witches and what not continue to be passed on from generation to generation is that it is realer than real to the patient, I.e the Witch. All what I saw when I was experiencing delusions where real TO ME…but me alone. I had convinced my mind to believe these things. Fear and belief in Witches = delusions. In the western world witches and demons are replaced with aliens. Patients are convinced aliens are after them.

Look the mind is powerful, I mean extremely powerful, with intense focus, fear and intent, you can create. We are all creators of our reality. This is why atheists can never see or experience witch craft. What happens in these states is that you have succeeded in convincing your brain and mind about the existence of certain entities.

Fear + insomnia = Delusions/psychosis aka Witch Craft
Stress + insomnia + hunger= Delusions/psychosis aka Witch Craft
Intense Religious beliefs = Acute delirium/Delusions/psychosis aka Witch craft

But thank God for our doctors and scientist they have studied the human brain and understand to a large extent how it works. I was medicated for a few months combined with talk therapy and basically became anew. Mehn I thank the heavens for my family that got me the needed care.

Many people seeking deliverance need to visit the Psychiatric hospital, its cheap and the doctors there have seen it all, they would care for you and treat your symptoms, but you have to be willing.

Please if you have any friends or relatives seeking deliverance from demons or witches with unexplained or “supernatural” causes, please see a psychiatrist.

A little test you can attempt. Spend the next 24 hours thinking about a particular subject, focus with all your might, it can be something as flimsy as ice cream. Read up on it, immerse yourself in all things ice-cream, sing ice cream songs, do you know what happens? When you turn on the TV, you start to notice all the ice-creams, you start seeing ice-creams everywhere, suddenly all the magazines and newspapers are covering news about ice creams, this is what happens in reality when the mind is affixed on a given subject. Its beyond fascinating, you can give it a go. It is not any different with the concept of Witchery.

It's not enough to just say "witches & wizards" don't exist.
How did you arrived at this conclusion? Prove that they don't exist.

Great post. And I'm happy for you for getting the help you needed smiley

I love your icecream challenge at the end. It's very true. The brain is a pattern-seeking machine, in psychology it's called "top down processing", looking at your surroundings & experiences through the lense of whatever is already in your mind. We all do it. What you feed your senses, your brain will automatically seek out more of.

Since superstition is feeding the minds of many Nigerians still, it's no wonder that witch accusations and "encounters" are still happening :/ Thankfully enlightened individuals like yourself are breaking out of that mind trap, seeing the situation for what it is, and turning to appropriate psychiatric assistance rather than harmful superstitious answers.

Great post. I know most of the people above me didnt read through. The brain in a very powerful and complicated machine, i like how you pointed out that mind conditioning can make a person experience an unreal phenomema.

Beliefs like this trive in this part of the world mainly because of stark illiteracy sometimes not neccesarily just religion alone. Why i said so is because many countries in the west for example that have relatively high population of religious adherents dont run to churches in cases like yours, they rather seek medical help immediately.

Theres no way a person experiencing mental schizophrenia wouldnt be tagged as a demon possed individual in this part of the world.

One big problem is that topics like this wouldnt be treated as an avenue to learn and abandon this dark state we africans find ourselves in, but rather an attack on religion and religious beliefs. Its truely pitable.

Happy happy for you op. That's a great family you have there

There's a huge stigma associated with mental health issues, enough to ward off people who should clearly be seeking help. Addressing these issues start with posts like this

the difference between atheists/materialists and theists/dualists is that atheists do not doubt the power of the brain...

There is a huge difference between Witchcraft and Psychosis madam.

You need to read more on Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Personality disorders, Depression... These stuffs vary from Witchcraft.

If you have ever seen psychotic patients, you should know the likely consequences of labelling them "WITCHES". You'd almost get your face burnt. Unless your pastor is dum.b, he should know the differences between a schizo and a very normal human being whose only problem is flying ONLY in the dream and holding meetings underworld (witchcraft manipulations).

Meanwhile, your post lack scientific references, it sounds so incoherent and clumsy. How could you call insomnia witchcraft? You've largely described hallucination, and that again isn't witchcraft.

Please check the internet, read, read, and read wide, you will be amazed to know that the WHITES (who gave you education and everything you are/know today) believe and practice witchcraft! Go and read your books, I can assure you that a larger percentage of your Doctors in the human behavioural sciences believe in Witchcraft.

If Satan could succeed in making people believe he doesn't exist, he has won the battle.

Ariana Grande

I’m a big nerd. I love Lord of the Rings. I love Harry Potter. I love scary movies. I love dinosaurs, science, aliens, ghosts.

Not sooo weird, I suppose.
But then the interview goes into something a bit more dark. The interviewer asks her if she’s seen aliens, but she goes into demons, which is obviously a tie to the dark forces that she surely is exposed to in the entertainment industry:

Have you ever seen an alien?
Not an alien, but I’ve had a ghost/demon experience. We were in Kansas City a few weeks ago and went to this haunted castle and were so excited. The next night we wanted to go to Stull Cemetery, which is known as one of the seven gates to hell on Earth. The Pope won’t fly over it—

I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car and we smelled sulfur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon. I was like, “This is scary, let’s leave.” I rolled down the window before we left and said, “We apologize. We didn’t mean to disrupt your peace.” Then I took a picture and there are three super distinct faces in the picture—they’re faces of textbook demons.

Let’s see the picture.
I deleted it. The next day I tried to send the picture to my manager and it said, “This file can’t be sent, it’s 666 megabytes.” I’m not kidding. I used to have a folder called “Demons” that had pictures with all the screencaps in it, but then weird things started happening to me so I deleted it.

I was going to sleep about two weeks ago. I had just gotten off the phone and as soon as I closed my eyes I heard this really loud rumble right by my head. When I opened my eyes it stopped immediately, but when I closed my eyes it started again with whispers. Every time I closed my eyes I started seeing these really disturbing images with, like, red shapes. Then I opened my eyes and got back on the phone and was like, “I’m really scared and I don’t want to go to bed tonight.” And then I scooched over to the left side of my bed, because that’s where the best service is in my room, and there was this massive black matter. I don’t know what it was.

It was like a cloud of something black right next to me. I started crying. I was on the phone like, “What do I do, what do I do?” and they said, “Tell it to eff off.” I thought, I’m not going to do that. It’s going to upset it, so I’m just going to chill and not feed into it because all it wants is fear. It feeds on fear. I watched it move to the front of my bed and then I fell asleep on the phone. I woke up and it was gone. The next night my friend Tyler was staying with me. She said she was trying to sleep and her body felt paralyzed almost, and she described the same exact thing I saw.

No one needs to see their brain physically to know it is there. It is a proven FACT that humans need brains to function!
The existence of witches has never been proven!

How can you compare the presence a vital organ to the existence of witches?
