This is not to encourage local manufacturer has people were saying but to encourage huge revenue from nigeria port. There are many ways of doing this but lack of good administration is affecting them. Reduce some charges at port and make more effective than before will certainly discourage importers of bringing cars through land borders. Actually is late he can still reduce some charges. If all cars entering through land boarders join the one entering through port , there will be a very big revenue to the country. But if is to encourage local production is totally a fail idea, because only innoson is effective in car production in this country which mean nothing in term of efficiency. How long it will take Nigeria to produce a competitive product like Toyota big muscle and other expensive cars. Even a car for the common man like Honda civic, toyota envelope light and others, how many years it will take them to have a mass production that wil be sufficient for the usage?
