Don't say IT and keep quiet, otherwise you will be denied again. Say industrial training and of course you need to tell the VO your job title and talk about it. Keep talking till he or she stops you.

While you talk, make you use body language as well, so that whoever you are talking to, will take you seriously. I will drill you tonight. I just want you succeed and I know you can.
Ok sir...I'll be waiting

Hopefully i dont get banned today like yesterday , as i am hesitant to comment ...i sent you a pm and you are yet to respond

You just need to take a deep breath and believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel and take control of the situation . If you feel the medication is affecting you negatively , have a review with your family doctor and explain your concern and see if your medication can be reduce or stopped

Regarding out of status . i honestly cannot comment as i have not been in that shoe , however if it was just a sample letter you need . There are samples out there on google (if no one responded in NL) ... Go to the school international office and have a clear understanding (if u dont) , what it takes to get back in status . Write them down and start working on it one by one. .... slowly slowly you can crawl out and get the situation back in control. You just need to take ownership of it all and be willing to be positive . ...

First, let me tell you that you are one of the very few and lucky F-1 students in America. In case you don't know, there are thousands of people who have fallen out of status right from the first day they came in to America. You have a cashier's job that is putting food on the table and you are complaining? You are able to save $8k within 6 months from your job and you don't count yourself lucky? See, I am not one to sugar coat things for you. I don't know who your friends are but if you have one, they should tell you that you are balling? How many people in America can save up to $2000 in a year? If you have anyone telling you that you are useless in America, please delete that person's contact from your phone and block him or her for life.

That being said, you are not the first and you won't be the last to drop from school - that is not the end of life. You asked for help in writing a reinstatement letter from NL and didn't find help and you decided not to pursue it because of indecision and wrong advices? Who are those advisers? Mind sharing what they advised you to do? It appears to me that you caused this yourself.

For you to be able to compose on Nairaland, I put it to you that you can still think and know what is going on with your life. The issue with you is anxiety and fear of the unknown. Learn to control yourself and take your mind off it. I also see that you have refused to tell us your relationship with your 4 siblings in America, what have they done to help? Are they all tired of you? They all told you to go back to Nigeria? Anyway, here are the options you have presently;

- Do everything within your power to keep your present job

- Go and marry a U.S citizen who you truly love and start a family

- Wait for your pending immigration filings to be approved

Good luck

Congrats. @Chiezzh, take a look at his explanation to "what have you been doing since 2008". Be direct and vocal on what you have been doing. It's as simple as that. And not some kind of music lyrics.

Baba you funny oo

Hello friends,
Please it's not advisable to cram interview answers and questions while preparing for interview at the Embassy. The worst thing that can happen to such person is memory loss as a result of tension and fear there at the Embassy. You will go totally blank if not God's grace. The best is to practical with the questions and develop a structure for providing your answers. Let you know the reason for any question from the VO and that will guide you on providing the best answer. Questions can be asked in many formats and ways. Just know what the VO intends getting from any question asked. And pls be truthful. I strongly discourage cramming.
Chiezzh I pray you succeed this time around. Get prepared for the worst and expect the best. HOPE in the face of difficulty. HOPE in the face of uncertainty. The Audacity of HOPE. There is always Hope. And don't forget to call on GOD.

My advice: strike out TAMU, that's if it's College station, your GRE doesn't quite cut and also you will need a potential advisor willing to take you in. Also UL Lafayette doesn't give uncoming students funding from my findings. Although you can get GA after your first semester. Don't know about the others.

Thanks a lot for this info.....really helpful.

Good. Do not be thrown off by the ranking. Some of these highly ranked schools are really not that difficult to get their admission as we portray them to be. With your good profile you only have to sell yourself well to have a good bet. And that you can do through your sop and recommendations. And try to apply early too. Good luck!
Boss, thanks a lot for d morale... grin
