The same role you applied for in September on which you were rostered, was that post advertised in December or you were deemed fit for another post or role similar? I guess you have the privilege to be informed ahead of other candidates because of their interest in you that you are on their roster. The first test for the September openings was administered about 2 weeks after the jobs advert was closed. I believe potential candidates for the December adverts would still be contacted. Kudos to you!

I believe you have a very solid experience in that sector backed with competitive and stelar qualifications. I know of a truth that UN doesn't joke with experience especially in any of her agencies or NGOs.

That implies the December applicants may not take preliminary online quiz as was the case in October. It appears WFP modifies their methods of recruitment from time to time. Any way, any news for those who applied for Administration Officer or Warehouse Associate?

All questions will come from some part of the compotency. i.e. They may be testing for professionalisim, drive for results etc.

You must be able to develop unique instances from your past experoence for each compotency being tested. Honest truth is that it may not be a true actual instance. Just make sure it answers all the sub questions. I lost my UNICEF position because I did not have cluies on the compotencies.

Why start another thread when they are many existing on Nairaland itself. I believe that some mods (Uboma) have posted UN jobs recently. And a website called UNjobs exists. It will allow you to get daily vacancies.

I am new to this ptaform and want to thank the mod for starting it.
I got the WFP test mail for IT/TC Operations Coordinator SCOPE Officer, NOB level – Maiduguri and TC Operations SCOPE Officer, NOA level – Maiduguri. I did both tests and was interviewed for the TC Operations SCOPE Officer, NOA level – Maiduguri position on september 30th via skype. The interview was ok (questions on TCP/UPD, asset management etc ) and they said they will get back to me but am yet to get any response so does that mean I did not make it for the position was interviewed for? or should i still be hopeful.

Well I did not get to see that post when resesrching for the interview and test.

Was luck to have known Excel else would have flunked the test. Simply desire to create a thread for future applicants.

However, no one seems to have any interest. Maybe I will just return to my shell

Pls don't return to your shell because of no followers. You can share your experience/ideas on how to get NGO jobs for experience so as to develop a career within the circle. Thanks

What I was referring to when I said that was this thread. I only said I would post details of the test and interview techniques used for other people to learn form it.

And I have already started doing that with some responses. I gave details of the test and the fact that it covers the subject matter of the applicant. For me, i have an accounting backgrodund and was asked about excel and budget problems in the test.

For IT positions, it should be questions on IT matters. See post by togaff.

And honestly I would not advice that people should rush into NGOs. Most of them dont pay or pay well. I was fortunate. The only good advantage is the chances you have with UN agencies due to the NGO experience.

Not yet.. By next week

i got a mail from WFP to come for an oral interview tomorrow Sunday by 3;30pm for the post of Tally Assistant.........

I didn't know they do interview on weekend for a UN agency. That's only to confirm the rumor that they want to complete all recruitment before the end of the year. Most people would resume before the end of the year.
