Christians are not the only folk that celebrate a new year, the Chinese folk also participate

What is our business with the Chinese celebrating New Year? Does everyone doing something mean it is right?

I just told you that true christians do not hold worldly celebrations as they are not in line with God's word. New Year and Christmas were never mentioned in the bible. Before Jesus' betrayal, he had a last meal with his disciples called the last supper, which by instruction should be done every year to mark the remembrance of Jesus. New year and Christmas celebrations are the creation of unsatisfied humans, and are sin against God.

Read up Matthew 27:17-30

I'm just noticing that for you to show how enlightening, superior and knowledgeable you are to others, you have to bash what millions of people hold sacrant.

As for me luvmijeje the following are the reasons to be in his presence on the 31st of December

1. To show my appreciation for his grace over the year.

2. To give a magnificent dance for his love over the year.

3. To show him I'm not ungrateful of his faithfulness over the year.

4. To request that the latter year must be greater than the former.

5. To experience inexpressible joy and undescriable gladness.

And so much more.

If you have not given your life to Christ... .. .. you will never get it

Bruh, daht phrase of "New Year New Me" iz d most irritating phrase I hate 2 hear frm Nigerians,
lol. Another is 'cross over'. What are you crossing over? Abi na bottomless pit? Personally I do think its very good to attend a late service on 31st and an early service on 1st. Where I have an issue is when christians become fanatical about being in church at that 12midnight point. Its very good as well but don't look at it as a ritual and then call it cross over.

Well as for me i went to church, closed by 8pm came home relaxed wit my family nd by 12am we all prayed as a family....this cross over craze pioneered by nigerian Pentecostal churches isnt rooted in the bible...unfortunately it's a culture dat the modern nigerian christian has embraced. ....happy new year folks
that word crossover feels more like a scam word.

For Me, it has more superstitious significance than spiritual...

New Year's is just a holiday created by calender companies who don't want you reusing last year's calender.

People should stop treating New year's like some sort of life-changing event.
If your life sucked last year, it's probably still going to suck tomorrow.

People believe starting the new year in Church is a good thing. To them it signifies that they recognize that God should come first in peoples' lives.

The service is usually to thank God for being alive and experiencing the blessing of the out going year and the welcoming of the new one.

Usually, during the New year Service in many churches, the new year is dedicated to God and people seek Divine intervention for a smooth and problem free year.

My dad wanted to fight me yesterday because i said i ain't crossing over at the church. I love God and i won't let churches deceive me into believing there is something special about crossing over at the church. A vast majority a just Sheeps who don't know who God is or why he does what he does or how a proper relationship with God should be. Many believe that rules from the church will give them salvation. Many are Blinded. I hardly go to church, not because i don't love God but because i know that churches are misleading people. The talk about Prosperity 90% and Salvation 10%. Even When talking about salvation, they tell you the right things to do so you can please God. what they don't tell you is "NO MATTER HOW YOU PLEASE GOD, YOU CAN'T FOOL HIM . You crossed over at the church, but you still end up making the same old mistakes over and over. Your life doesn't get better even if you spend all your days in the church. It's God that heals, helps and saves. if you can't use your sense to create that relationship with God, no one will help you. We should stop deceiving ourselves and stop getting deceived by others. How can a Christian see someone in need but still decides to give the tithe to the church? Knowing the God doesn't use your money but sees you making that sacrifice by helping a fellow man and pleasing him(GOD) at the same time. I don't need a church or pastor to talk to God.

Please apply sense now, don't vex yet.

1. you know God is everywhere

2. You know he listens to prayers of your soul

3. You know everyday is for God

4. You know that Christ said no one goes to the father unless it's through him(Jesus)

SO PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME, DID JESUS SAY NO ONE GOES TO THE FATHER UNLESS THROUGH THE CHURCH FIRST, THE JESUS HIMSELF?

IF YOU KEEP WAITING FOR A SPECIAL TIME TO THANK GOD OR TALK TO HIM, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHILD OF GOD

Apologies for replying late.. .. .. I know you don't go to church.

Hebrew 10:12 says

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near

By the way who told you I don't do it daily? Is there a crime in praising God everyday? Did God complain to you?

To answer your question I do praise God outside the church and inside the Church.

So what's your problem in people wanting to serve God with fellow believers and listen more to God's words through his prophet?

Apologies for saying this.....I know you can't deal with the truth.

I asked you a specific question, "where can we find his presence?" Show me with scriptures as back up.

I believe someone that goes to church should be able to show us this. What you presented is a quote on how good it is to meet together and encourage one another. "Meeting to encourage"

God is not happy with those who go to church but can't answer questions truthfully. Those who go to church but don't follow the footsteps of Christ in dealing in dealing with men. Please answer the question about "his presence," no hide and seek reply. If don't know, it will be an honour for you to say so. Trying to lie with lies brings ridicule.

Chillax!

1st Cor 6:19

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God and you are not your own.

Meaning as long as you believe in the son His spirit is in you.

The same Bible Matt 18:20

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.

Meaning God is also present in midst of those who gathered together for his namesake.

Why are you trying to discourage people from going to Church? The devil is indirectly using you.

I asked you a question, you gave a wrong reply. Now you replied and added that the devil be using me indirectly. That is what the church is teaching people these day. How to use devil to intimidate people who ask questions. I for finish you with this your attitude but that's not how I planned to start this year. You are still accusing me wrongly. I would like you to show me where I discouraged people from going to church. Quote my post wherever it is in bold.

My lack of faith in God? Where are you getting all these things? I simply asked a question "where is his presence according to the scripture?" and you are still manufacturing all these things. I give up!

You are not the only one that love God. Over zealousness makes people lie atimes which is a sin. God hate lies whether you think you are defending him or not because he knew the one that started lying from the beginning...the father of lies.

Going to church should really be to celebrate God with other Christians. When you love someone, you want to be with the person, have conversations with the person, and generally get to know that person more. Same thing when you have a relationship with God. You want to know more about Him. Going to a bible believing church is one of the ways you get to know God more. Plus one gets to worship God with others. Not going isn't a sin as God will listen and talk to you wherever you are. Anyway, I love Jesus, but totally detest religion.
