Hello, I own a mistibushi galant 2007 model. Before I traveled for December I serviced the engine and changed all the break pads. However during my trip I noticed the engaging sound changed. I attributed it to the fact that the load I carried was much. The trip was for 11 hours. This afternoon I decided to cruise around my hometown to let my friends know I was in town. The I notice the engine sound did not return to normal. It is now louder than normal. BTW I have not change anything in my car of late asides break pad and wiper. Everything is still from factory. The milage is 89k What could be the cause of the increased reeeving sound. |

jimihendrix: sine you decided to show off in town, the witches too have decided to show off their powers. the solution is 1. 6 white male cows (ti eyin eeh gbagba) 2. 10 turkeys 3. 5 gallons of palm wine 4. 5 gallons of red oil 5. 1 sack of kola-nut 6. 100 tubers of yam 7. one box of guinea brocade 8. 2 young female virgins (must not be underage) 9. Scan the car if you can over there 10. if it cant be scanned, look for a mechanic to look into it, manage it to civilization and then scan and post codes |

nurey: bros its not my village ppl... lol My neighbor that gingered me to drive o, cuz he wanted his kids & wife to go with me. Anyway, i checked the oil gauge and it was very low (i don't have any leakage). I figured this is the issue. My problem now is that i use oando 5W-20 and i could not find it here. Please what alternatives can i use? i intend to head back to lagos on the 2nd of January 2017. Suggestions would be appreciated. i change my oil every 3 months, last time i serviced the car was last 2weeks saturday. Make una nor vex o, my mechanic number dey off since morning, i for don solve the palaba since. |
Re: Car Talk Chat Room by nurey(m): 9:14pm On Dec 26, 2016 |
jimihendrix: Buy any engine oil you find in the village and once you get home you drain and refill with the original Oando 5w20. But you need a professional to check the car, your oil is low due to leakage or burning, ie your engine is burning oil at alarming unusual rate. 1. Is the car popping smoke like human being popping champagne? 2. After refilling with oil and gauging, do you hear unusual sound even if it isn't as loud as before. Clinking sound like metal romancing metal. If the sound is still heard, you probably have damaged something in the engine. 3. After refilling engine oil, start car and first observe around the car if oil leak is noticed, then check exhaust for smoke, last but not least check engine for performance and oil indicator light on the dash board it will remain on not because of wrong oil but because something got damaged due to low oil in the engine. Follow this steps and revert back, also prepare content of the list, no 8 is very important. |

nurey: lmao, the car does not bring smoke o, when i got to benin i stopped at a filling station for a 30 minute break. I even popped the hood to let the engine cool off. if anything was amiss i would have noticed. Anyway, i will continue my search for 5w-20 timorrow, if i dont see it, i'll buy the mobil own. then flush everything when i get to lagos. if to say i know, i for just jejely enter my God is good motors o. also no dashboard light is on everthing is fine. The oil thats popular here is 20w-50, or SAE 30? is it safe to use any of these ones? |
Re: Car Talk Chat Room by nurey(m): 9:56pm On Dec 26, 2016 |
jimihendrix: just manage it to get you to lagos, once in lagos, buy the recommended drain the 20w50 and refill with the recommended. your car maybe smoking without you noticing. let someone throttle down with gear in neutral or park while you observe the exhaust. if no smoke and you are sure there is no leak either, buy extra oil just in case, while travelling keep your eyes on the road and your attention fixed on the dash, listen for that engine sound you heard, if audible, park and check oil guage, if low refill and constantly monitor the oil level. when you get to lagos the car needs a professional checkup. |

good afternoon house...i'm new to cars...my Toyota Corolla dashboard keeps showing me the check engine symbol and it's constantly orange and doesn't blink. I searched google to find the solution and they mostly suggested lots of different causes, some potentially very harmful to the engine and others as harmless as closing all covers in the engine and also the gas cover. got it close to mint. milage is about 87,000. didn't have to fix a thing when I got it. most of the solutions I saw on Google are more or less white man kin of problem and solution...I need something I can relate to. I saw solutions like taking it to the car station for a comprehensive automatic check up an all sorts of things. I'd appreciate any urgent help as I'm tied down until I fix it. |
