@ LadyGuinivere and the gurus in the house, please my aunt paid for drop box visa renewal december but she has not filled the application form online. She'll like to postpone the application till February or March, when her current visa expires.

Question is; will the money paid earlier still be valid, or will she have to pay another? She is qualified for drop box and her visa expires February. Thanks.

On top of the payment print out
On the website
Nd several places on the thread;
Visa payments are valid for a year.
Sometimes a likle research is good...

Hello house,
I will be travelling with my family to New Jersey for vacation next week via JFK, New York and we can only get seats on Emirates. My wife and my kids are first time travellers and I am trying to make this trip as comfortable as possible for them.
Please help me with the following concerns;
How is it flying with Emirate? I read sometime on this forum that we will be interviewed in Dubai before getting to New York. is this true? If you have flown Emirates to New York, please contribute.
I can't get to pay for our hotel reservation here and someone suggested I should pay on arrival, is this adviseable? Or should I call the hotel and see if I can pay with my Nigerian debit card?
What is the best way to connect to Newark New Jersey from JFK? Whatever means of transportation it is, I will like to have it booked before leaving Nigeria
LadyGuinivere,
seyewest,
TWoods,
and all the gurus in the house please help a brother.
Thanks.

Your visa will be rechecked before you're allowed to board in Dubai. other than that, I don't see why you'd be interviewed again. I do find it interesting though that you're planning a vacation to NJ in the dead of winter! What do you plan to do?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Sammy740: 9:39am On Jan 12, 2017
@ TWoods,
Thanks for your contribution, is there anything wrong with going for vacation at this time of the year? This is the time that we have the leave to take the vacation and that's exactly what we told the Consular during our interview.
Does it mean people cannot take vacation around this time of the year?
Others in the house, please contribute.

So how will you know the response is not sincere... undecided

Before burning money on US Visa, do a self-examination...

What will bring you back to Nigeria? aka What are my strong ties

Why am I going to the US? this determines the type of visa, you will apply for.

Where am I going to in the US?

Why am I going to that place in the US?

Honesty is the best policy.

@Sammy Flying Emirates make a lot of sense and you will enjoy every part of the trip except that it's a very long journey almost 14 hours to New York if I'm right. Luckly for you when you land in Dubai International Airport you will have less than 3 hours to connect to another plane flying to JFK.
DXB(Dubai International Airport) does not have US CBP Preclearance facility in Dubai I believe it's in Abu Dhabi Airport so that means you will be stamped in at JFK airport,New York.
Emirates Airline will likely fly you on Airbus A380 or Boeing 777 which are both new and solid planes with world class entertainment system, sometimes they may route you through MXP (Milan Airport) or direct from Dubai to New York. One more thing since you're traveling with your family they will ask to see your physical cash ($) you should have at least $2000 with you if I'm right.
As for hotel booking it's so easy now.. you can go to booking. com or hotel dot com and make reservation and booking for your hotel and pay on arrival without debiting your Nigeria ATM card.
I like traveling to U.S during winter because ''I WANT TO SEE SNOW'' unlike the summer when the heat is something else.. you will enjoy it and take warm clothes along with glove and head warmer.
Have a Safe Trip.

1. 3 weeks is too long. The US is not a cheap place to be. It's reasonable to a week to 10 days.

2. How about you apply after you are done with your undergraduate studies? then you can say, as a graduation gift, my aunt and her husband invited me to accompany them, to the U.S and my mum has given her consent. (the answer you gave, probably made the VO think, when your mum is free, she should travel with you, after all she is your mum)

3. Don't apply too soon, you will look a desperate person.

Good day all,

You guys are doing a terrific job with all your contributions.

I will be applying with my wife next month. I have 2 kids, 3+ and 1yr + but i what i really want is a kind of honeymoon part 2 for my wife. Plus the cost of taking the 2 of my kids along and withdrawing them from school (due to the nature of my job, i can only get have time for vacation by May by which time school will be in session) is not a welcomed idea to me.

My question sirs/mas is if we stand a good chance by leaving the kids behind or it could be a reason for denial. With US, you can never tell which is which, if its UK now, that one am familiar with.

Please help out with your wealth of experience.

Leaving the kids behind is a tie and also since it's a wedding vow renewal/honeymoon proper.. I think you should apply if you have good job, good pay and good travel experience.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 4:53pm On Jan 12, 2017
@holysinner sorry about the refusal
And your refusal isn't about you wanting to stay 3 weeks. I have never filled more than 3 weeks for any visa application. Your refusal is about lack of ties.
I gave you a VERY subtle hint a while ago. You are 19, not married, no job. You are not travelling for a life and death matter.
I know a 25 year old who's going to do his ist degree. So at 19 , one can easily a) get another admission or b) get married.
Do not bother reappplying. The outcome will not be different.

I have a serious question to ask. My sis is applying for b1/b2, she is applying with his daughter who is less than 1 year. Now my questions:

1. Will she fill two ds160 form?
2. Will she pay for 2 visa fee?
3. If she will be filling 2 ds160 forms, how will they know she is traveling with the daughter? Is there any place in the form that asks if she is traveling with someone?

Please o, na jjc I be and I have found this forum very useful. I appreciate all our Oga's in the house.
