Chelseafan1:It's obvious you too is not getting the gist Don't get it twisted bro, you guys are the ones always claiming players who are doing fine in other leagues can't do it in Epl. If Alexis is still playing and balling well in the Liga, scoring for fun and topping the scoring chart, you guys would have said he can't do it in epl. Don't forget many of you guys still await Messi to come and show himself in epl ooooo. That's the basis of my post bro, it's not about comparing the leagues. Catch it? |

CONTEDDICTED:Make I hear word! You guys would never admit the competitiveness of Spanish football. Imagine almighty Real Madrid losing back-to-back to second and third tier teams in a space of 4 days, and even at home for that matter. If na the EPL now we for no hear word. Na wa to una ooooo. 2 Likes |

dmcdad: From your statement LA liga is competitive because Madrid lost back to back.... But they lost because of 2 EPL failures In other words LA liga is competitive because of EPL rejects in the league Maybe we should send Bendtner, Ings, Delay and Co to Spain to make it more competitive |

sebod: I get you quite well and yes we are still waiting for Messi.... Lol Whoever thought Pep would be disgracing himself like he is currently doing in the EPL, he was a god as a Coach in Barca, less than a year spent in the EPL, he has turned to a sissy, if he hadn't moved to the EPL now, y'all will keep telling us he would win the league flawlessly and no stoke City, Everton, Hull city will stop him. Last week he got disgraced 4-0 by ordinary Everton, another L is likely waiting for him against Spurs this weekend, same way Di Maria was balling in Madrid but couldn't stand the heat in Man utd, he had to run. I expect you to know that, there are many things that affect performances and output. |

CONTEDDICTED:You sef ehn... Well, it's no news the EPL is competitive because all the teams are mediocres. Like high school teams where the competitiveness is high because all the teams are about the same average level. 1 Like |

dmcdad:yeah now mediocre teams playing each other just like nigerian league does week in week out , still nothing so special about the epl, if not for the money they have been spending for years now, chelsea and co would have been scouting player from the npfl |

Lionel Messi's father makes big announcement about Barcelona contract renewal Cadena Ser reports negotiations are on track. Messi's current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2018. Lionel Messi has scored 27 goals for Barcelona this season. Lionel Messi's father has told Cadena Ser "there is no danger" that his son will not renew his contract with Barcelona, despite rumours over his future. The Spanish radio station claims negotiations with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu over a new deal have already started, and early indications are positive. Neymar, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano have all put pen to paper on new deals at the Nou Camp in recent months but Messi is yet to follow, despite his current contract expiring at the end of next season. More from IBTimes UK Last week Barcelona chief executive Oscar Grau provided a controversial update on the affair, saying that Barcelona need to use "common sense" to reach an agreement as they cannot offer the Argentine a blank cheque. Luis Suarez later hit back at the CEO, saying they need to forget about common sense and make every effort to keep Messi at Barcelona. The five-time Ballon d'Or has already scored 27 goals in 24 appearances inthe 2016-17 campaign and remains the club's talisman. Controversy continued after Barcelona sacked Pere Gratacos as head of Sports Institutional Relations with the Spanish Football Federation after he appeared to play down Messi's importance to the club. Messi seemed to calm Barcelona fans' fears on Wednesday after being quoted telling Coach magazine that he would stay at Barca for "as long as they want me" – only for his entourage to reveal that the interview was fake. make dem Give dis guy contract jare , all dis yeye talk don dey tire me o |

Real Sociedad vs Barcelona, 2017 Copa del Rey: Start time, TV listings, live stream To be the best team in the world, sometimes you have to go through hell. Barcelona take the field on Thursday night to play the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarterfinals against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium, A.K.A. "The Stadium of Hell" if you're a Barcelona fan. The Catalan giants have not won a single game at Anoeta since 2007. It's a real curse that can't be broken, and not even the 'MSN' trio or the mighty Pep Guardiola teams were able to break it. This time, things are different, however. It's a Cup game, which means that even a draw will be a good result for Barça, especially if they score one or two away goals. The Anoeta Curse doesn't need to be broken for Barça to be happy, but if the team is able to win at the Stadium of Hell, then both the Cup quarterfinals and the Curse will be over. This will be so fun. Don't miss it. Date/Time: Thursday, January 19, 2017, 9:15pm local time (CET), 8:15pm BST (UK), 3:15pm ET, 12:15pm PT (US), 1:45am IST (India, Friday) Venue: Estadio de Anoeta, San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain Referee: José Luis González González On TV: beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS En Español (US & Canada), elsewhere Online: beIN SPORTS CONNECT, FuboTV (US & Canada), elsewhere anoeta curse will be broken today o |

Gustavo Poyet 'honoured' to lose against Barcelona's Lionel Messi Former Real Betis coach Gustavo Poyet says coaching a side against Lionel Messi is an honour which no one can take away from him. Messi scored two goals and created another as Barcelona beat Real Betis 6-2 at Camp Nou on the opening day of the La Liga season. It was Poyet's first game in charge of the Seville-based side and while his team were comfortably beaten, he has fond memories of witnessing Messi up close. "I maintain the memory of that game, the first in La Liga this season," the now Shanghai Shenhua manager told Diario Sport. "We made them uncomfortable at 1-1... Until [Messi] decided that it was over. He took the ball on the wing -- in front of me -- and when he started, I understood. "I don't know how this will sound, but to have had Messi one metre away, to have suffered and enjoyed him so close, it's an honour which no one will take away from me. "It's one thing [to see him] on television, but this is another thing, the closeness with which I experienced him." That why he is known as the G.O.A.T all over the world |

homesteady: I dey tellz you. The offside rule is actually one of the best rules in soccer. As much as I like to see defenders set offside traps, I also enjoy watching clever attackers beat the trap. Van Basten is high aswear. |
