I tried reaching Nathan. But he wasnt picking his calls. I slapped my forehead. What had gotten into me?
Who could even blame me?
No one would understand the way i felt the moment i read that message. My first thought was that Nathan had broken my heart. And that he was going to marry someone else. I hadnt even thought of the blood oath that moment and that was my greatest mistake. Yes, i know i was insecure but it wasnt my fault, i didnt want what happened to Kaka happening to me.

Speaking about Kaka, she had woken up but she had refused speaking to anyone or even eating. When she was discharged from the hospital and taken home, she had had herself locked up in her room, for days unend, i kept coming to their house hoping that she might at least talk to me but she refused opening the door for me.

'Claire! Longest time no see!' MummyM said embracing me the moment i stepped into the house.

I hugged her back 'mum, how have you been?'

I pecked her plumpy cheeks then i raced upstairs. I stood in front of his room. I knocked lightly. There was no response. Then i opened it. I heard water running from the bathroom and i knew he was having a shower.

I sat on the bed waiting for him.

Then suddenly i percieved the smell of marijuana. Where was it coming from?
Just when i stood up to check where the smell was coming from, my eyes darted to an open drawer. I walked to it. I saw some powdery white substances, some were wrapped in a white sheet of paper while some leaked from the sheet of paper.

What was this?

I dipped my fingers into one of the substances and smoothed it with my fingers. Then i sniffed it. Just sniffing it alone gave me a bang in my head. I held the back of my head painfully.

Cocaine!

No! No! No! I kept screaming in my head. It couldnt be. It was a big misunderstanding. My Nathan would never take cocaine! No!

I sat on the bed. The smell of marijuana still lingered in the room. Then the water stopped running and i heard the door open from the inside.

I folded my arms waiting for him.

He came out with a towel around his waist and another around his neck. He froze on seeing me. And when he lowered his eyes to see the opened drawer, his mouth opened. He tried saying something. I just stared at him. Then out of nowhere, tears came to my eyes.

'i cant believe i've been dating a drug addict! God!' i broke down.

'Kainene, i...'

I raised my hand 'save it! Save the goddamn lies for whoever cares to listen! Its over Nath! Its over. I cant spend the rest of my life with a crazy motherfucking hopeless drug addict such as you! Here i was thinking you didnt even smoke cigarettes anymore, i never knew that you did worse in your closet! Cocaine? Thats the height of it!'

He tried coming closer 'baby, dont say that. It cant be over. Remember the blood convenant...'

I started hearing voices from Nathan's room a bit after Jolade or whatever she was who introduced herself as Nathan's friend went up to his room.

I took the stairs two at a time.

On getting there, i found Claire quarelling with the said girl called Jolade.
Nathan was putting on a singlet and black pencilled jean trouser. His hair was ruffled and his body was dripping wet.

'you have no right whatsoever to come into my fiance's room without any invitation whatsoever! Do you understand?!' Claire barked.

'you call him your fiance? Have you forgotten that he left his seed buried inside of me? Look, Kainene or whatever you call your miserable self! I am expecting your fiance's baby and there's nothing you can fucking do about it! Fucking slut!'
