"I love this club, I love Manchester United. I love the Manchester United fans, they give me a lot of joy and I really enjoy having them backing me.

"I try to be as good as possible to make them happy, to satisfy them. What I want is to stay at this club for as long as possible."

"Last year, I played a lot, I had the chance to play a lot of games back to back, and now I enjoy playing and I have to wait.

"We have a good group with many players so the manager [Jose Mourinho] tries to freshen the team in each game. We just need to ready to be on the pitch each time."

- Anthony Martial

"I work a lot. I work very hard. I am surrounded by great players. I try to learn in each training session and I am very lucky for that.

"I feel very fortunate to train and play with those players. I try to keep focused, do my best and I am sure next season will be even better."

"I started as a centre-forward but, even at AS Monaco, I sometimes played as winger and I got used to this role on the pitch.

"So I enjoy it and, as long as I am on the pitch, I enjoy it. So the most important thing is to be on the pitch."

"He [Luke Shaw] stayed behind in Manchester because I'm playing with Daley Blind, with Marcos Rojo, with [Matteo] Darmian, and all of them are playing the way I like a full-back to play. And Luke has to wait for his chance and work better and better, knowing I give nothing for free.

"When I give something to the players, it's expensive for them - it's not cheap. They have to work hard every day, they have to play well, so he has to wait. And at this moment, he's behind the others.

"Potentially he has many things that I like but one thing is potentially, another thing is on the pitch to express all the qualities that I like a player to express. And he has to keep working, like Mkhitaryan did for a long time."

- Jose Mourinho

I'm yet to see any site with humor and high-precision sarcasms like Football365's MEDIAWATCH column. I've never ever read that column and felt disappointed. They always find a way to make me LOL. grin grin

Taking the Michael

It seems apt that some utter guff from Ryan Giggs should be followed by some utter guff from Paul Scholes, who has started the campaign to get his old friend Michael Carrick a new contract. He tells Goal:
“He’s always in the right place, he plays his position brilliantly and when he came into the team from October onwards there were something like 16, 17 or 18 games maybe where they didn’t lose.”

Or 14.

“He had a big influence on people like Paul Pogba, he got the best out of him and [Ander] Herrera. He’s just tailed off a little bit over the last couple of weeks but I still think he’s got a part to play.”

The last three games in which Michael Carrick started alongside Pogba and Herrera:
Manchester United 1 Liverpool 1
Hull 2 Manchester United 1
Manchester United 0 Hull 0

The last three games in which Pogba and Herrera started without Carrick:
Leicester 0 Manchester United 3
Manchester United 2 Watford 0
Manchester United 3 Saint-Etienne 0

We think they’ll cope without him.

No mind that cunning old man called Scholes. Thunder fire any of our board members that tries to talk up another contract for Carrick. For Christ's sake we can't move on if we hold on to these old men. It's time to let go of the past and face the future. Keeping Carrick won't ginger Mourinho to get his replacements. If we make it to UCL next season, we're going to face the best of the best, we can't rely on an old man to anchor our midfield. Look at how the trident of Matuidi, Verratti and Raboit with combo of grit, strength, energy and vision were able to carve Barça open time and again. We don't need Carrick if we're to mount serious quest for top titles next season.

In short, if we can't replace Carrick, make we kukuma dissolve the club make everybody go em house. Mourinho should let Carrick go after this season abeg. Let him move to China with Rooney. He's been a faithful servant for us, but it's time to say goodbye.

The battle is not over o. Make Ibracadabra start, then if we're able to score in the first-half to put the tie beyond the reach of Etienne, then Rashidi will replace Ibra in the 2nd-half to keep him fit.

My wish would be for United to score 2 goals in the first-half at least, then second-half, Mhiki, Ibra and Pogba will be subbed off to keep them fresh for Southampton the upcoming EFL Cup final.

Rumours have it unless he takes a pay cut of 70k, he'll stay.

My own is for us to move past "Carrick and his replacement " brouhaha, make dem sign another person abeg; at least we dey win matches without Carrick.

Next is another LB,RW and fertile Striker too grin
