RUBBISH, this has nothing to do with that rookie. This Emefiele's idea through the instrumentality of CBN. The Rookie even became so envious of Emefiele's positive actions that she went crying to the senate to curtail CBN's powers! Kemi is a mediocre who is totally overwhelmed by the enormity of her office. RUBBISH!

Emefiele has been there since the Dollar rose from circa 170 to 520, what did he ever do? The intervention in Buhari's absence was initially opposed by Emefiele but he complied because he had no choice.

Sorry it was mistake...#50 trillion...trillion. Dollar.
9jakohai:

Erm...a lot of money was made during GEJ's time, but it was not up to even $1 trillion.

Good, awon olopolo ti an so re. osheyy. salaye fun dada.
9jakohai:

Well...when Bubu took over, oil dropped, and kept dropping to as low as $28 per barrel....meaning that CBN had to restrict dolalrs, meaning that we had to suffer a bit....and then oil rose again, while CBN kept on restrciting, until they had enough dollars to feel comfy releasing them.

Rememeber, GEJ too does take some 'blame' for not saving when times were good. Soludo did what Emefiele did in 2008....but it was not felt much because we had $47bn in the kitty...compared to the $32 bn we had when Bubu took over.

Still.....blame game aside...the real koko is that we do not have a stable source of dollars. And you get that by being productive...as in prdcutive for export reasons.

thank you jesus...dey should keep doing whatever they are doing to bring it down to 150...another thing is d price of goods dey ought to b dropping too

Most of the marketers deliberately increased the prices of goods as the dollar was winning so by the time they see the naira consistently winning they will eventually bring down the price of their good. I bought wiko slide2 #33,500 in August last year. I lost it January and decided to buy it again but I was told it's #41,000. I just weak.

I remember Apostle Suleiman prophecied on January 1st that the Dollar will become N615. If his 'god' said that to him, then his 'god' must be shocked at the naira.
The Naija is clearly more powerful than Apostle Suleiman's 'god'. It's surely not God.
This is short sightedness..before you disprove the prediction of anyone, either Suleiman or economic experts...wait till the end of 2017. We are still in early 2017...so, it's still early to rejoice at anything...let's first see through this year...if they can maintain the pace or breakdown along the way. Reason foreign investors were not impressed because it is too early to jump at anything...watch and enjoy the movie.

I think there's a name for this kind of strategy. where a new Government make things worse at first, and then makes it better.

so the dumb and gullible electorate start to sing their praises forgetting how the same government made them go through hell.

I'm damn sure there's a name for this strategy.
instead of speaking all this grammar why not use the data and visit Google for an answer. Haters of progress quick to criticize but difficult to appreciate.

You are the one being childish my dear. Did you even read the article at all? Is this not directly under the purview of CBN? Did you not see where Emefiele clearly stated that CBN's intervention is finally yielding positive results? Continue believing the propaganda of a phantom Osinbajo intervention. You should know it is a typo which Glo network has tortured me before I could have it corrected. I meant 2017. We still have to wait at least, towards the last few months of this year before confidence can be restored...because all this up and down, down and up will discourage investors who are afraid of losing their money.

That's palatable news. It will keep on crashing till a dollar will be exchanged for #100/90. Then, things will be getting better so much that, a dollar will be exchanged for #50, like that.

When did the CBN start pumping dollars into the market in this administration? Who gave the instruction? How many interventions have the CBN made in the last one year, how many have been successful?

When you have an idea of the above, you can reply me let me continue your education.

I am also excited about the news but have u checked the latest news that our reserve which fell a bit yesterday and oil price fell below $50 bench mark due to oil glut in the market? I am not an enemy of progress but I don't know what will happen in the next coming days but chairman of Apex bank said we should not panic yet. Google or check online newspaper for more information. Though u can read the links below FYI.

http://www.newsflashng.com/nigerias-external-reserves-drop-first-time-since-december/

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2017/03/22/oil-price-drops-50-first-time-since-opec-deal/

You are right if the sustainability continues but then we are too greedy in Nigeria. Yes traders will restock but will the price commensurate with the currency appreciation? Our price regulation policies in market is still poor as retailers want to enjoy exorbitant profit
I like you objectivity, but our problem still steam from the fact that we don't do enough export of other product apart from crude oil and foreign investment inflow is still not as strong as it is suppose to be especially during OBJ's govt. The only reasonable thing for the govt to do is pump in the dollars at the risk of savings for the future and maybe when Dangote's refinery comes up, we might experience true improvement.
