Hi i'm new here, I will be applying for a canadian tourist visa this month, and I need to know the neccessary documents needed - someone said that I might be requested to do a medical check up, is this true, also do they truly check the validity of bank statements with the bank?

I will be going to the vsf office in Lekki with N45,000 as requested but I really wanna be prepared before I go there.

P.S I don't have any family or friends there, I'm just going for vacation. I will like to know all the neccesary requirements before applying.

No one actually knows. But I would advice you against hiding the fact that you were denied a US VIsa renewal on your Canadian visa form.

The thing with Canadian visa applications is the length of time. The earlier you apply, the earlier you might get the result.

You can check all the past posters and see the list of documents provided. Also, do not submit a doctored bank statement. I do not think a medical is required for a tourist visa.
Get your itinerary for the visit ready (hotel and flight).
Bank Statement.
Evidence of tax payment.
Letter from employer (if you have one)
Marriage certificate(if applicable), birth certificate
List is endless< just check whichever affects you.

Hello House,

I just received an email from Canada visa immigration section, reaching out to me for “misrepresentation because you did not provide a complete and truthful answer regarding your prior immigration history with the United States of America”.

I have been denied US Visa, and i forgot to state it on my application, after one week of submittion of my application, i realized the mistake and i quickly email the Canada visa section with a corrected filled visa application form, and a letter of explanation. I was suprised today to received an email denying my application for not stating my previous USA denial!

application submitted 7th March, 2017 and corrected application sent via email to canada visa section on March 14th 2017, received a letter of denial on 12 April 2017, and i was given 5 days to respond back to them.

Please i ask for advise on what to do next. Please house urgent response needed asap

Do what you did on the 14th of March, '17 to them again and probably do it better too. Let them know of the email earlier sent, at least that becomes an advantage now IMO.... But you guys should stop deliberately denying previous visa refusals by the US Embassy. All the best as you respond to them, regards!

Thank you, i will do just that! As for reaching final decision, do you think the VO would void the previous denial decision?

What you should be battling is for you... 'not to be rendered inadmissible to Canada'.. and not the denial decision!!
You can reapply or appeal a denial but not a decision to be rendered inadmissible!!
Pls act smartly and promptly... I've witnessed too many cases in the recent times to even give a specific advise... Everyone claims they either forgot or it's an error!
Make emphatic reference to the e-mail you earlier sent.... It could be your saving grace.
Good luck.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by manover: 12:07am On Apr 13, 2017
This was actual the below final decision!

I reached a determination that you are inadmissible to Canada for misrepresentation

because you did not provide a complete and truthful answer regarding your prior

immigration history with the United States of America.

What should i do? just totally confused right now

Thanks for your reply... I see, Yes I am employed and I will include my employment letter also a letter from my company. The problem is I don't really have much in my bank account to cover the expenses of the trip but - I plan on stating that a family friend is sponsoring my vacation then attach a letter from him and his bank statement - Will this suffice? will I still need to submit my bank statement in this instance?

Also evidence of tax payment? Can I have examples of this?

Thanks.

Ohhh really... The info you earlier provided did not state this!
This is one of the very unfortunate cases... A decision had already been taken!
Your only option is to seek the service of a lawyer who may appeal this decision... but & but... the truth is simply that it will usually not upturn such decisions! They have overbearing fact of untruthfulness against you that spending additional costs on legal appeals may amount to waste!
In the past.. this has worked but due to incessant repetitions from applicants recently... arising from desperation... they have since been taking rational steps and not accepting pleas.
Good luck.

You may wish to find a better option on sorting your funding issues. I have a strong reservation about using a family friend as a sponsor for a vacation!!!... Outrightly absurd!!

Sponsorship has a lot to do with your present status, your relationship with sponsor and age!
Tell this to yourself and be the judge.... I am working & earning, i am responsible to a family, i intend to spend so much money on flight/hotel/feeding/shopping to relax in Canada..... Finally, a family friend (who is not you parent/spouse/employer) is sponsoring all these
Kindly fine tune your plans.
Regards.

It seems Canada has not been issuing visas of last as no transcripts of successful applicants have been posted lately.
Please share you transcript if your application has been granted, from time line, document submitted, location of submission, fees etc tongue

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Travelhx: 12:22pm On Apr 13, 2017
Let's be honest: That line in the application form is very confusing. The one asking people if they have been denied by any country before.

The way it is structured, if you do not calm down and read it properly, you would think they are only asking about Canada.

They need to make that question clearer. Otherwise, many people will continue to fall victim by answering "No"
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Travelhx: 12:25pm On Apr 13, 2017
I know someone who was issued a visa yesterday. One year multiple entry. His passport will expire in 2021. So it appears that theory of getting a visa that lapses at passport expiration isn't absolute

Canada: Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

UK: Have you been refused a visa for any country including the UK in the last 10 years?

Maybe rearranging that sentence would help as you suggest but can you truly say that's the reason many answer NO instead of YES?

A lot of intended applicants still believe that if US refuse you a visa Canada will also refuse you. No, it doesn't matter. Infarct somehow it looks more of people with previous US visa refusal do get their Canadian visa than applicants with virgin passport or even with previous visas of other countries plus travel experience. If you're refused US visa and if you honest in your Canadian visa application and explain reasons for your previous refusal in your Sop, i don't see reason why Canada won't approve your visa.

Sandwiched in my response was "shortcomings" as an operative word.... If you have met her one on one, give it a try, but the odds are stacked up against you!
