Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 was gladly received by the entire people of Iwo Kingdom after his brief trip to Canada.

The monarch who left the country few weeks ago for Canada to be able to attend to some pressing issues and also spend some time with his queen and his newly born Prince, Oduduwa.

Oba Akanbi who is cherished by his people for his series of humanitarian projects, poverty alleviation programs and community development activities was welcome in an heroic way by his people. With the way he was received, it shows how deep his people felt his absence and how glad they are to see him again

When I saw "Oluwo of Iwo....", I knew the person would be a Muslim.
Most (if not all) traditional rulers in Yoruba lands are Muslims.

Just like the FCSC batch A list for the South West was predominantly Muslim names.

Yoruba Chrisians have become second-class citizens in their own lands.

Yet, people in this region pretend like all is well.

NOTE: I am not trying to instigate anything here. I am only trying to sensitize some people to the injustices they are experiencing.

What are the pressing issues if I may ask? Is it for the well being of the people or community?. Kings of nowadays living extravagantly at the expense of the poor masses. While the communities wallows in hungers and poverty.... Quote me and .......

I am from Iwo. But I wish they can scrap kingship. They are a waste of governments budget. People hailing him after spending fortunes passing time in Canada's Gucci stores.

The old believe that they hold the community together is now a cliché; we can do very well without kings now, or better still, reduce their entitlements.

Some people no get work at all...

Someone will leave his business, lock his/her own Shops and start following their fellow human being like say na God dem dey follow.

Instead of struggling to be like them tomorrow, they'll always be struggling to follow and serve the wealthy people...

Some people don't have future sha...

Well said.

My only objection is this; we talk about keeping our culture, our tradition, our values.. If we kill kingship, our culture will be thrown to dogs. They are ones upholding those traditions, those festivals...

We are who we are... I am Yoruba, omo dobale ka' agba.... I love my culture and I want my generation unborn to meet those values and morals I was trained with. How about you?

The most important Royal father in Yoruba land, The Ooni, is a Christian. The highest ranking Politician in Yorubaland, The VP, is a Christian.

Yorubas dont view issues from the Lenses of religion, I dont expect you to understand sha.
