Bankole and Farouk were young young thieves.

Gowon, Murtala and OBJ, Buhari and Idiagbon, and IBB were all in their early 30s and 40s . . . mtcheeewww.

We have a fundamental problem: corruption cheered on by family, friends, religion, and a twisted society at large.

This is what happens when you live in a country that share a similar culture and language. A young man like this can never rule a country like Nigeria because everybody is fighting for ethnic superiority. In Nigeria, we all fight for what will benefit our tribesmen not really about what will benefit the country. Until we speak the truth that Nigeria will never be a united country, the better for us and the generation to come. The Yoruba ethnic group are larger than European ethnic groups like Norwegians, swedes, fins, Greeks, welsh, and so on. There is no benefit in living in a large country with many differences. I will rather live in a country with a small population that share a common language, culture that is peaceful and with a prosperous system than a country like Nigeria with large population with many differences whose system has failed overall.
True talk.

He's childless. How can he plan for the future of France when he does not have anyone who will be part of that future?

So what does having a child have anything to do with his performance as president?
African leaders that have children aplenty, did they perform well?

You Africans and your twisted ways of reasoning tho undecided

Age entirely is an end in itself. This country gave a lot of opportunities to youngsters who bungled it:
Saminu Turaki - 36yrs, Gov Jigawa
Ayo Fayose - 41yrs, Gov Ekiti
Lucky Igbiniendon - 42yrs gov Edo
Bukola Saraki - 39yrs gov Kwara
Donald Duke - 38yrs gov cross rivers
Niyi Adebayo - 42yrs (not sure) gov ekiti
Tambuwal - 39yrs speaker
Ghali Naaba - 38yrs speaker
Farook Lawan - 37yrs, ctee leader HOR
Nasir Elrufai - 39yrs, BPE chairman
Nuhu Ribadu - 44yrs, EFCC chairman
Orji Uzor Kalu - 40yrs gov Abia
James Ibori - 40yrs gov delta
Uduaghan - 38yrs, secretary to the state govt
Gbenga Daniel- ? Can't recall
Bankole - 39yrs speaker HoR
Salisu Buhari - 29yrs speaker HoR, claimed 36yrs

I could go on and on. How have the youths fared compared to the oldies? Age is only a number. Rather, we should expend energy on people of integrity, commitment and vision.

Peace.

Please can we just give a round of applause to aunty who is 65 and looking so good!!! She looks good although the story behind their relationship is messy but it's their life. Congratulations to him and we need younger African rulers. In Africa small thing they will bring up "respect" and won't allow young boys to run the country well but rather these old, dying, money hungry, selfish bastards.

both countries are different and the way of politics is different, looking at the average youth of nigeria at the age of 30.What has he really achieved in Life. You see that most people in Nigeria are still struggling at that age except the few lucky ones and the children of the rich in the society. For you to be a leader and even lead a big country you must have showed such capability in leading smaller organizations. Not just a youth coming out of the university at age of 30 to lead a country. You discovered that in developed countries, most youth are through from school even as early as age of 22-23 and gainfully employed and have had successful carrier.Politics in Nigeria involve Huge amount of money for campaigns and other things. Can the average youth get such money without being corrupt or a political godfather ? Religious belief is another problem in africa and elders are given the leadership role in every family lol

ADAMUdaCOWBOY:
Just see the way we are using France's victory to insult our country as if we are not partly guilty for the rot in Nigeria. If a vibrant 39 year old comes out to contest for the seat of the President of Nigeria how many of us will vote for him? When it is election time the only thing we hear from our youth is 'he is Igbo, I will not vote him, she is Hausa I will not vote her'. If a 39 year old that is vibrant comes out to contest, we the youth will be the first to dismiss him/her as juvenile and we are here hailing the victory of France (as if it is ours), whilst criticising our country (as if we have not contributed to the rot). OK name me one 39 year old politician that the youths of Nigeria can rally round. Baba buhari please get well soon and come and continue ruling us til Nigerian youths acquire some sense.

When are we gonna have men/women in their forties leading Nigeria?.

The old men running the country aground have refused to die and leave the stage.

they do not need to die, let them leave the stage for younger generation to play

The leaders at their forties in Nigeria are busy displaying high level of stupidity (Yahaya bello of kogi state) the old has never been our problem, the youth is its own problem, simple. The only ambition they can ever come up with is stealing money and spending on girls. God help us.

Nigeria has produced some of the youngest Presidents in the world by average with oldest ever being Buhari at 72 and Obasanjo at 62. Here is the list of past Presidents of Nigeria and their respective ages.

Nnamdi Azikiwe 59

Aguiyi Ironsi 42

Yakubu Gowon 32

Murtala Mohammed 38

Olusegun Obasanjo 39

Shehu Shagari 54

Muhammadu Buhari 41

Ibrahim Babangida 44

Enerst Shonekan 57

Sani Abacha 55

Abdulsalami Abubakar 46

Hmmmm

Disgraceful generation of people.

Instead of building a sound country they only stole colossal amount of money for their families.

One cannot blame those that are demanding to have their separate country.

There were many governors that became governor in their early 40s, yet they failed woefully.

The anti corruption agency should be totally independent.

You think Nigeria will ever get to the level of France with sets of leaders we have like Buhari .. A president that belongs in the Stone Age
Nigeria is retrogressing if you have not noticed.. Nigeria is a shi*hole
And there are countries that are worse than shitholes. Speak for yourself. There is no great country now that didn't have it's own fair share of shit. You better think of how to make your country better Dan a shithole or go to one of those countries that are not retrogressing and become a citizen.

Your post rather posits you as stupid not me.
First, how did you assume you are talking to a youth?
Secondly, have you heard about global village, where what happens in one corner of the world invariably affects you. Only a stupidly myopic person thinks the world ends in his village. Because that's how you think, you are chronically myopic and very stupid, using your words.
Thirdly, her age matters to me. If it doesn't to you, its your business, mind it.
Lastly, if you can't be civile in discussing with people you don't know and haven't met, stay off peoples post. Your type makes me want to throw up. Ode!

Thrown up already Mr. "I am not a youth", who bothers about the age of someone else's wife?
