....and dropbox too. The advantage about this is, both your P.C and your phone are in sync

Let's have the drink together. You bring the drinks, I bring the suya & peppersoup.......

I bought it from a reputable electronic store just to avoid fakes. I have given up on mmc's. I have lived without one for over 2 years now without losing my data.

I have 2 32gb, one I hv been using for 3yrs now, the other I bought in the last 4month, the other exhibits all the oulayed symptops of Fake, while the forma is still as strong as mout Zion.

buy Original.

Cloud Storage is the only way to go.
But you do realise that in Cloud Storage you need to buy more space (Gb) once the first free Gb for storage is exhausted and you pay in dollars!

Class 10 memory cards and weekly scans with an updated Windows 10 defender fixes all these..

I don't use a memory card for any reason. Once the internal memory of my phone is up to 16GB, it's OK. Instead I use an OTG flash as external storage.

OP this is my answer to your ignorance about cloud storage/computing..
It not every technology you can just adopt and start feeling like know-it-all

Attached is a picture by..
Edward Joseph Snowden is an American computer professional, former Central Intelligence Agency employee, and former contractor for the United States government who copied and leaked classified information

In the developed part of the world you re referring to classified documents and information is still being stored on external storage devices like sd card, flash drive etc. Cloud storage is not safe cos the host of that ur cloud network can access ur file at any time and even hackers can do same. Just use sd card that is commensurate with ur devices capacity and install very good anti virus u will be safe bro.....Thanks

mmc has done me strong thing too. In my own case, alot of my photos and videos are not accessible any more, and the card sometimes freezes the phone. I run my phone without a memory card now. I just transfer my content to my laptop.

It's an original sandisk card. It did not even last up to 6 months.

Yea, i would have love to dump my memory card long ago bt data isn't cheap in Nigeria and network can be shitty wen u need it. I only keeps the most important pics and files online to save money. I don't like stories that touch anymore

2 simple reasons I stopped using an sd card

Sd card (aka "memory card) also known as external memory, of course is a common possession among Nigerians but such is not the same with other countries as they use modern features such as "Cloud storage" it's like..unfortunately Nigeria is still a bit far from adapting this trend.
So in this post, I'm gonna explain to you the bads of using an sd card and hopefully convince you in using other easy storage option such as Cloud storage
so first I'm gonna start with the disadvantages of an sd card.

1. It makes your phone lag..
Have you ever notice or have ever tried comparing your phone startup speed? (that is the time it takes to power on or off??)
..well if you have ever tried it, you'll notice that you phone boots(startup) faster without sd card especially those with bigger memory size such as 64,128,256GB..that's why flagship such as the Xiaomi mi6 and even the upcoming Essential PH-1 are been released without sd card slot.. so the whole point here is to tell you that, an sd card could cause your phone to lag or probably hang..also take note that it might not be noticeable in some phones with advance and the latest processors such as those with "snapdragon SoC" or recent "mediatek chipsets series".

2. virus attacks
Of course almost everyone is aware of this ugly fact..sd card are very prone to virus and the only solution is to format it and in the process you tend to lose all your valuable data such as music, videos, pictures, e. t. c

so, yeah..that's all for now I hope you were a bit convinced
p. s :I'm not saying you shouldn't buy a memory card, all I'm trying to say is that..next time when getting a new device, go for those with big internal memory so that you can avoid the stress of buying an sd card and also the consequences that comes with it.

Op what is the time range various phone manufactures specified for phone booting that made you come to this conclusion?

OYO is your Case....
Don't you know that its easier for Internal storage of a mobile device to be more vulnerable to Virus than External memory!!!

This is absolute rubbish! Either your phone is crappy or you bought bad sdcard. You won't notice any delay when including using a good phone and sdcard (class 10).

In fact, you can use the sd card to speed up your phone by moving apps from the phone's internal storage to the sdcard and install apps only on the sd card.

Any digital storage can be infected by virus. Like the USB stick, sdcard, computer and even your phone can be infected without a sdcard. So I don't understand why you specifically mention sdcard as if it was more prone to virus.

Even though, Nigeria in flooded with inferior devices, please, get your facts right next time.

It takes literally a few seconds to upload your photos to the Cloud. There are so many options. Google drive and Dropbox are probably one of the best.

pls gimme details of savings pix in Google drive and dropBox?

You are right.

Since I am staying away from them, i don't have to worry about buying fakes anymore. I had similar experience with mmc's from Argos in the UK. luckily for me, i haven't left the store before it started acting up, and I was given a replacement immediately. Same thing happened with the replacement. I was eventually given a gift card to spend on something else.

This particular SD ultra now giving me problem was bought at BestBuy in Canada.

Re: Why I'll Never Use A Memory Card In My Life Again by godquality: 9:53am On Jun 18, 2017
That a memory card makes your phone lag is a mute reason. Get a faster much more better SD cards like the Samsung Evo+ xc U1. Or any of the newer ones. Calling a Xiaomi a flagship makes me laugh though.

As for virus, that will only happens if you download an apps illegally or from shady sites or you click on links you shouldn't. So it has nothing to do with memory cards.

Sorry but with all respect to your opinion, these reasons given made no sense.

I really thought U were going to make sense! Hope U are aware with cloud storage ur data is in the hands of other people, not to mention that hackers penetrate cloud storages, and not paying after ur 'freemium' means U could even be denied access to ur own data.
