The prosecutor is going to find a way to rope him in the death of the police officer attached to the boss of the Young Shall Grow... he could present that particular instance as an armed robbery gone wrong... it might not sail through but I am sure he would try.

The offenses were committed prior to the passing of the bill into law. So i don't think this may affected his case if he can hire a good lawyer.

A good prosecutor should find a way to invoke Federal law if it exists. Nigerian wahala tire person.
If it is a crazy place like US, a good lawyer will find a way to wriggle him out technically by msking his confessions inadmissible in court because he was not read his Miranda right--"You have the right to remain silent...everything you say will be used against you blablabla". Any how, he may be serving many decades in prison. But in a crazier place like Nigeria, SARS may waste him and claim that he attempted to escape.

If he must get life imprisonment,...it should be without visitation by anybody, n no phone calls at all.for life...... cos.a kingpin n a phone connection is a full organization.......... he should idle away for life in a dark room all.alone..

He hasn't been taken to court, so whenever he goes to court, it'll be under this new law and FYI the law was signed 3 months ago, don't know why vanguard decided to sensationalize the news by presenting it as if Ambode just signed it

Did I read forceful or illegal extortion for life imprisonment? Does these laws included Nigeria politicians or non politicians.

We have been hearing of constituencies projects by political criminals in House of Representatives and National Assembly, from both national and states, with billions of naira had been released, yet, in our constituencies we are not seeing any completed project. The next few politicians representing our constituencies like Dino Malaye and Dogara, Suspended SGF even Buhari using taxpayers money to purchasing cars, mansions and money laundering, while depriving millions of electorates or citizens and of infrastructures(power, education, healthcare, foods, water so on).

Please help me school them. They must be emotional about everything. The said Evans is yet to be arraigned for that matter. The technicalities of law should also not be overlooked, an accused can explore a lacuna and be discharged based purely on the instrumentality of the law

As much as I condemned Evans and kidnapping, I condemn this bill from sociology perspective. When do we start jailing those who loot our national wealth. Where's the law for white collar stealing and corporate thieves. What's the difference between Evans and Gov. Ambode? I missed a great Nigerian prophet, Fela Anikulapo. When Ambode leaves office now, we will start to hear his looting stories. What's the difference between Nigerian leaders that are stealing billions of naira and sending many Nigerians down the grave ironically.It's high time we asked our leaders, What is crime?
