They might not know that you have delivered, but it's always advisable to say the truth as it is,so that it doesn't return to bite you in the a** later.

I have to reply here as I can't seem to PM you. Just call the office of vital records in Virginia, Richmond I think! They'll tell you 6-8 weeks but if you call them several times, it'll come in 2 weeks. The 6-8 weeks is just so you don't sue them if it comes in late. When you call, give them your child's details and that's all. Our child's came in the mail after 2 weeks even though they told us 6-8 weeks

Ok. Thank you.
Will keep calling then.
When the birth certificate came out,did you have to book an appointment at the passport office?

We got the passport from the passport office in DC. We also got the Naija passport also from DC. Got both in 2 days. Call and book an appointment as early as possible although if you can get there before 10 you can do walk in but you can't get the passport same day. Best you can get is after 48 hrs.

@Dwebb55 Good morning. I intend to use Inova fairfax in Virginia. could you please share the name of the doctor you used and the cost. Does the doc have reservations on the age of pregnancy before taking on patients. I will be staying in Baltimore. I will really appreciate a response from you so I can go ahead and buy my ticket today. Thanks

P.S I have read through the whole thread and this info hasn't been shared before

She can take the notorize DS 3053 along, she already knows the name they want to give the baby. Any notary public can notorize the form she doesn't have to notorize at the US embassy.
PrinceAdeAde:

You need the consent of your hubby for application of US passport asper US legal requirements .That is what the DS 3053(i.e Statment of consent form) achieves for u.Also I dont think you should notarize a form before the actual event i.e child birthin this case because you need to specify the child name as hightligthed on birth certificate and data of birth also which you may not be in control of.
I am quite sure US embassy would not notoraize it for you for a future event as you swear an oath while signing that all you stated was accurate and truth. How do you know that when the event hasnt happened. Just my two cents

@petruchi

I think getting a medical visa is advisable that's if you haven't already applied. It saves you a lot of stress at pie. And if you already have applied, you can state it at your interview that you'll be giving birth later.

Cos if by what you say you are 2 months gone, it means ull be spending roughly 5 months in the US and this will raise a flag at your visa renewal.

Thanks for the response. Both hubby nd i wanna apply together.Pls what are the likely documents to go along with to the embassy when applying for medical visa. And can i and hubby still go with the invitation or not? I just want to know how to go about it cos this our first time to apply.Thnx
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by pertruchi: 7:27pm On Jun 29, 2017
Dwebb55:

From your exertions, your main intention is to go and give birth there which is not illegal. So be upfront about this if you have no intention of going for the 'these'. If you state that your intention is to go for the birthday and then you then want to change to go and give birth, then you open yourself to insecurities in the future either at the POE or when you want to renew.

We believe in stating the truth here, and if your aim is to get someone to encourage you to lie at your interview, well you've come to the wrong forum. Plus, VO's read this thread and you've showed your hand already!

@Dwebb55. Am not planning to lie.Am here to gather useful information that will help me apply and be granted visa cos am new in it and I know you people know much about it than I do.

Is it not possible you fill nd get it notarized without putting the date.?you can always put the date with a black pen when you sure of the date of birth. Just thinking

It usually takes 5-12 business days at the most. Focus on your recovery and dont forget not to leave without your baby's social security card which takes about the same amount of time to arrive by mail. Congratulations!

Hello,
Silent reader of the forum here. And you have been of great help for me in this journey .
Looking to get back home to give a detailed synopsis of this experience.HOWEVER,Please I need the urgent assistance of anyone who recently had a baby at HNWMC.
The paediatrician bill I just received is $3,800!

The breakdown sheet I was given at registration was not even up to$1000,but I still budgeted $1000. I also declined the hearing test.

Please can someone help me to explain or direct me to who to talk to about reducing the estimate.

Please help!I am due to leave this country by Sunday
Were you able to settle the bill for pead with the hospital.
