Hello, I also applied May 8, 2017. I filled a CSE form yesterday and I'm seriously hoping I get a reply soon.
I need my passport for something else by end of next week. Is there anyone who applied the same day as I did? Any luck?

Unable to submit because of CITY AND COUNRTY OF BIRTH was not filled"(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH. " is visitors visa(outside Canada) same as Visitors record. There is also field for Passport issue date, expire date, date of arrival in canada, date of leaving canada and amount avail to travel $

This should be of help to all those trying to link their paper to online application, I had same issue but had it resolved after following these steps.

I have listed steps to link your Paper application to CIC Online

(1) Go to this below listed link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as visitors visa(outside Canada).
(6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option.
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or application form.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.

(10) Select applicant's Current country of residence (For example, if your spouse currently living in Nigeria, Please select Nigeria)
(11) Select Current marital Status
((13) Once you fill all information, Click on Search for my application
(14) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(15) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

I applied for my mum May 9th online. Was approved last week July 5th. I think email is the best way to communicate with them. I never got a response till date when I sent the CSE form. I sent them an email and they told me they would send me a passport request letter the next day and they did.

if its not allowing you to submit then, fill in the city and country of birth. Visitors visa(outside) Canada means you are applying from outside Canada. I don't think they are the same.

gbfav fill every single field, the date of arrival in canada is the date you entered in your application form that you'd be going to Canada and the date you'd leave canada is the "leaving" date amount available for travel is the amount you entered on your application form. There's no marital status field. Fill every field with the exact information you entered in your application

I applied May 9th but she did biometrics on May 19th. But I sent in a CSE form and 2 emails asking them to look into her application cos she was leaving for the UK. It was approved a day b4 she left. I have received an email from them telling her that she can submit at the VFS London office. If you have proof of travel plans made, you can send an email.

Please what is the turn around time when your visa is approved.

My dad applied online, got a notice to submith is passport to the vfs... how long will it take for them to return his passport.

I was told to mail accra.immigration@international.gc.ca... pls can with an experience in such case aprise me with a format in doing just this?.

Solemidayo there's no format, send an email to the address you have inquiring why your application is delayed because it's past the normal processing time.
