Just curios, which Dr / hospital did you use previously and why do you want to change? Which are you settling for now?

Re: Give birth in the US.
Hello everyone
I am new here but have found so many useful tips here.
I gave birth to my son in the US April 2016, and I am pregnant again. My medical visa is still valid and I intend to use it again to travel to have my baby. Will I need to write the embassy again or just travel with it? This POE thing got me frightened even though I was allowed in the last time but delayed i can't help but ask if there might be any hassle entering from Houston. Again I intend to change my doctor and hospital will that also be a problem at poe?

Please can any mama coming into US be kind enough to buy me Funbact A, it's in a tiny tube cream. I use it for my lil man eszema and that's the only thing that works for him. I can't find it here even in African stores.
Please I will pay for it and shipping to my address in Maryland.
Please DM me if you can help me with it.
God bless us all .

If you are looking for cost saving, you should be looking towards Texas or Chicago, for Atlanta Georgia, it's on the average o

Type in the search space provided above

For Atlanta
1.Emory hospital
2.Northside hospital

For Georgia
1. Doctors hospital

You will get the cost break down

My Virginia mums in the house,
Please help! For those who used or plan to use innova Fairfax or innova alexandria. Help with a doctor's email or how did you get correspondence. Did they share email correspondence or acceptance letter? Nova group for women have just been posting me asking for me to send a fax of my records before they can accept me and they don't have an email address. For Dr T-chabo have searched for an email address and none. Pls help guys or advise in the right corner. The hospital seems to be one of the closest to Maryland and there's isn't much info on the thread. I don search tire o! Thanks.

A lot of pregnant women have done it here,it's not a big deal. You can enter the US from any port, the important thing is be able to explanation yourself. It will also help,if you have your onward ticket at hand to confirm your story if asked.

Hi reniduke

How did you sort your paed after childbirth? Did you pre-arrange with any paediatrician or you used Emory's? How much were you billed for it? I'd appreciate any input from any Emory Midtown mamas. cc. cfcchick

I did not pre-arrange. I searched for one close to my home and booked appointment for 2 days after i was discharged. Kennesaw paedatrics-loved them.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by chibertha(f): 8:06am On Jul 19, 2017
No shaking just carry all necessary documents
Dr correspondence
Ability to show you can pay your bills etc
If possible onward ticket to Houston.
Above all be confident

That depends on the airline and transit time.
So look at your tickets very well while buying

From what I heard, Laurel regional hospital maternity section has been closed down for now. There was an issue with not meeting the required standard. Dunno if they have reopened it now. You can also google shady Grove Adventist hospital. Didn't use them cos of the long distance from my host's house.

Wow! thanks for the info on Laurel. i had gotten their no online but now i'm a bit concerned about them hoping the embassy won't have an issue with me using them. I got a quote from Shady grove and it wasn't family friendly at all o!. Lol. Please what hospital did you use. Can you share details and cost with me pls. I sent you a PM pls respond. DH is still optimistic we can get something in Virginia that's close to maryland. Left for me alone i would have ported to Texas ( very easy to get quotes and correspondence). Pls help.

markmard:

it not a letter but a form to be downloaded online called Form DS-3053 ,print and fill by your husband then notarized by a lawyer and then send to you by courier with photocopy of his travel passport ,the completed ds3053 filled by your husband must be notarized before a Notary Public, lawyer or Solicitor. The notary or solicitor must place his/her official seal upon the document and the notarization must be no more than 3 months old. The absent parent must also provide an original or clear photocopy of the government-issued photo I.D.(such as their foreign passport, driving license or military I.D) which they presented when notarizing Form DS-3053.

https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds3053.pdf

@markmard! Can you get the notarized form from hubby before you travel? Rather than waiting till you want to go for the passport.

nefertitiram:

For number 1. You got it slightly wrong. Your US visa affixed to your passport suffices as a second means of Id. The county person wanted to sell me the sour grapes of getting a second means of id till I showed him his own requirement list where a valid us visa suffices. So that person just stressed your wifey for nothing. Lolz

Modified: in fact only 1 means of id suffices in the instances below and foreign passport is allowed as the only means! Lolz;
@ nefertitiram so you only need your international passport that has valid US visa on it to get the BC and US passport.

A lot of people won't give you emails unless you're committed to them financially. When you pay the hospital, a receipt will be issued which you can use at the POE. However, I won't advice you pay until you have your visa.

Inova has a lot of hospital's not just Fairfax. There are others in Alexandria and a few other places that might be closer to where you'll stay. You would have discovered this if you'd researched on Inova online. Anyone who doesn't have or give their emails, call them and get the information you need. You're going to be spending millions and you need to research well before committing yourself.

I have sent a mail that should help but you need to also do some research yourself.

Good morning House,

Any October/November mum in the house looking at Houston, Chicago and Kansas can pls reach out to me.

Had my first child in 2015 and used OBMC and Dr. E.

Looking to explore a different state this time around but then again accommodation is another issue here.

Good evening everyone
Is good to be here and God bless everyone here.
I have been a silent reader here for some time but on & off.
Am 15weeks gone, first baby on the way and about to apply for visa.
My direction for hospital is Houston Texas and i found one which is "WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTER"
MY QUESTION IS":

1) Is "WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTER" SAME AS "WEST HOUSTON BIRTH CENTER"
2) PLEASE DO ANYONE IN THE HOUSE HAVE CONTACT EMAIL OF ANY DOCTOR IN TEXAS CLOSE TO THIS HOSPITAL.
3) IF ANY ONE HAVE GIVING BIRTH IN ANY OF THIS HOSPITAL IN TEXAS OR ABOUT TO..PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP FOR MORE INFO?
4) I NEED HELP ON HOW TO SEARCH FOR BUDGET SAMPLE HERE SO I CAN WORK ON MINE.
5) IS IT BESTS FOR ME TO APPLY ALONE OR
WITH HUSBY AS AM A HOME MAKER BUT MY HUSBY IS THE SPONSOR.

God bless all women on this missionary journey.

I await positive response from anyone to guild me through my questions. Thanks.
