Why, because it's a private university! You all need to stop this hating. It's unhealthy.
Not just a hate, I am a product of public university for from first degree to my PhD and lecture in one of the private university and can glaring see the difference.

They don't sell grade cos there is 0 exam malpractice in covenant. I've seen their products and the standout.

The reason they produce students with such good grades is simply. They are forced to focus on their studies. Just like uni's in the UK.
Also there is no politics about it. Unlike federal and some state Universities, if u earn a 1stclass that's what you'll get.
stop lieing to the people here. Everyone knows the truth that you paid heavy money for you to have good grades. You are even going to suppose christian schools but lie as much as you can. I imagine why your chapel priest doesn't catch you red handed when you are lieing. You can't deny that. There's huge malpractice in covenant university.

why should I trust you when I know you don't know what u should know.

Uniben is far better than convenant university and such anomaly in first class will never take place there, just like it wouldn't in OAU, UI , ABU and other supposedly top higher citadel of knowledge in the country....

First class isn't only overrated, it's becoming stale, boring and at times useless.

No trust me Bro it's not like it's an impossible feat in conventional universities just that what I keep saying is most students are always being subjected to wrong learning conditions e. g when a lecturer comes to class and gives handout alone it makes it difficult for students with not so high level of comprehension to pass such a course... It's high time we stopped seeing the hardship in conventional schools as normal instead it should be treated as an abuse of educational rights... I Don't want you to doubt the quality of these graduates because I can tell you they went through deep training both in theory andpa practical. It should actually be a good thing ourplll) public universities should embrace... Just take time out to visit Covenant University one day and you we see things I write here are not just lies... Really our educational system is limiting our students that's why I have friends in public universities who in secondary school were so smart but now schooling is getting frustrating which should not be. Also the thing is we have a lot of adjunct lecturers just they how they work is closely supervised almost a students who came to school with the mind of not taking their academics seriously are forced to be in class at least 75% so most of them end up turning out well... The same thing is so possible in public universities just that the monitoring is not as tight as in private universities instead some students take being in the University as freedom and end up losing focus combined with the unnecessary hardships they face which just downs the morale of some students.

one thing you don't understand is that the lecturers they employed are graduates who are Ph.d holders and professors who finished from from public universities even some obtained their doctorate degree from foreign countries long time ago when the standard of the education is still good not the crop of graduates we have presently although we still some guys from public universities who are exceptionally good but not all.....
yes everyone is entitled to obtain their masters or PH.D to obtain their degrees in foreign universities. It is matter of choice likewise there are students too that will obtain their degrees from undergraduate level to PH.D level here. It is matter of choice. Yes the crop of graduates here didn't show they have things upstair to show the populace. In as much your school employed public university lecturers you have to give the school they came from respect cos they gave you the grades you want.

the same graduates are the ones that full foreign countries for their master's program and they performed excellently well are you saying they got the grades through money from foreign countries?until you realised that those public universities lecturers are wicked to students in public higher institutions simply because nobody can question their misconducts
I will always say it again that it is a matter of choice. Some went to foreign universities and do excellently well why some went to federal universities and do excellently well also. What I just notice about public university lecturers is that they trained students to be on their own when there's difficult times and situation. Well in federal university if there's wrong misconducts among students and lecturers there are always series of sanctions if the student involve speak up on time. At least we have read series of sanctions and discipline in our university system. They are all subject to discipline and correction.

I know what I'm saying, the rot in the system has given the lecturers in the public universities leeway to do things you can never imagine, I don't mean that the private unis are paradise but the difference is clear, in federal unis a lecturer for a major course would simply abandon his students and go for his personal business only to come back 2wks to exams pack all manner of photocopied handouts and still give you whatever he so wishes as exam, this happened many times over while I was in school, except for a few lecturers with integrity and fear of God. To start with the recruitment of lecturers for federal unis being a federal job is still laden with man-to-man syndrome, and am sure you know when people are absorbed into a system without merit quality suffers. Infrastructure has dilapidated in fed unis to a pitiable extent, otherwise what do you call a federal University of technology without a single working lathe machine, but keeps churning out mech engineers, metallurgical & material engineers, lastly people don't apply for masters in Nigeria to learn something new, or do earnest research, it's just a trend, Nigeria is a society where the system honors certificates over ability, so people apply for masters to grab an extra certificate and improve their luck at making it, not necessarily to learn. Of course apart from the private sector that knows what they want, the public sector would still honour certificates from federal unis over the private ones per protocol, but you and I both know that private unis teach more than public ones, and this is an emergency, something needs to be done and hey, I didn't even attend a private University.
abeg stop typing what you don't know here. Not to reply you much cos you didn't know what am saying here. As far private universities are employing public universities lecturers they are the best and can impact their knowledge on the private ones. At least I have answered your questions here. Not to talk much.

Honestly that is changing. I was lectured by many CU lecturers(Phd holders) during my undergrad years. We have more than 200 CU Alumni working in CU already. Secondly many lecturers from ui, unilorin, oau, unilag etc. that were employed years ago with Masters degrees are now Phd holders from Covenant university. For instance one of the top most researchers in the world on sustainable energy research is a graduate of unilorin but took his Phd in Covenant university and now lectures there. So public schools cant really claim him.
thank God you acknowledge unilorin brains in your school. Likewise in landmark university too. Well the masters unilorin lecturer used CU as one of the financial of his thesis to sponsored his PH.D programmme. We have seen that too in public universities. So don't bring somethings up that I don't know of.

As i said this was years ago and they are simple innovations made by students to be relevant to our domestic community. For instance a student came up with using solar power as an alternate source of energy for vulcanizing shops to save cost and make more profit by these local workers in ota. Of course that seems low tech but is very relevant. However, today we have quite a number of patents from CU lecturers themselves with great greater relevance.
the same innovations your so called CU graduates are doing now have been done in public universities years ago. So don't come here and be hyping your school. If public university students can invent new chemical elements and other things in this generation abeg let us give kudos to them. The same solar power you said have been invent by one engineering student in public universities. Is it not public university lecturers that's guiding them in their projects niii. Abeg wetin you wan tell me again. Make I hear from you.

I know that you will mention NUC here as if what they are ranking is of the best. What they need to based their ranking is the products coming out of these tertiary institutions and not money been paid to them. Unilorin that was the best university thrice always record high rate of jamb applicant every year. For good ten years now they have been recording that which shows high level of impact the lecturers are impacting the students. Not to talk of UI etc.

You remind me of propagandist when I was in law school. You're just one of them.

People kept saying u can pay money to pass.. yet there was nothing like that!
When the time came those looking for avenue to sort with their millions and connections did not see such avenue. Even buhari's daughter and countless other big men and big men children failed.
I am a product of Nigeria law school. I can categorically tell u there is No malpractice what so ever! The reason most people graduate with a pass from law sch is that u are graded with your lowest score.
Eg; a person with 4As and 1E will graduate with a pass.

Covenant university has very high standard. I know a lot of their products and they can defend their degree any day. Unlike a lot of students from state and federal universities.

Some that was caught when they molest their student got expell and discipline the lecturer to the fullest. You must be a boy sha. I gave the percentage of where most of us THOUGHT we would be going to school. Before entering s.s.3 or year 12, didn't your school ask you guys to decide where you want to go. The school I finished from, nobody was allowed to sit at home for a year when their mates were in school.
I said 70% decided they were going to private unis. 22% were going to Europe. How about the ones going to America and the U.K. They had to write SAT and TOEFL and IGCSE. My school offers classes for these exams. Are you saying they all waited to graduate from secondary school and took the exams and classes during the holidays when most of us were in school.
Do you know that if you want to go to Europe today to school, you need to apply as early as a year before. I even took IGCSE then, but dad said he couldn't afford to put me in the Uk for four years when I also had siblings. From my earliest comment, I was just trying to show you how hate was born. I was jealous my mates would be going to schools with good facilities and most importantly Lesser students when compared to those in federal schools. I didn't want to stand to take lectures and sleep in a room with 14 people. a I didn't say why I ended up in a private university. That's why I said Though I went to bells sha. I could have explained that but it wasn't necessary.
