You're right about one thing that the hate is mutual. Other tribes had to return the feelings in equal measure when it was obvious that Igbos were becoming too arrogantly rude.

Yes we hold the grudge because we feel seriously wounded both physically and psychologically. When someone is wounded he has a right to feel wounded. That is the case with an Igbo man which must be understood. I am sure all things being equal the Yoruba or Hausa will see that the Igbos was devastated by the civil war and has every right to feel wounded. The same way I often see them express tender feelings for the Tutsis because of what they went through in the hands of the Hutus. Yet the Tutsi fate touch closely the fate Igbos suffered before and during the civil war. I think we need to understand this issue along this line. Yes I believe the hating must stop because it is killing this country but we must apply emotional intelligence.
