The large alarm sounded at around 3am the next day. The young soldiers knew what that sound meant. The alarm sounded every 3am of the day. The sound was loud enough to wake the dead in his grave. However, as every soldier reluctantly stood erect on his leg, Jason inclusive, Mike was still snoring. Although Jason had known Fox to be a heavy sleeper who takes a lot to wake, he was surprised that he was not moved by the mighty alarm.

Jason gave him two heavy slaps that brought him awake. He knew tapping him was ineffectual and if the wicked lieutenant caught him sleeping after the alarm had sounded, he would be highly be punished..
"what the hell! Are you crazy?" mike said, now standing on his feet.

"you are welcome buddy" Jason gave nonchalant smile.

"Don't ever slap me again! ".

"you say that every morning"

"I mean can't I sleep to my satisfaction again?, " mike said yawning.

"Ofcourse you can, maybe if you didn't hack the government's system in the US, perhaps you will still be in your bed snoring like a bull"

"may be I should have hacked your brain and program it to mind its own business" mike gave a riposte.

'I wish you could ", Jason laughed" perhaps, I wouldn't have been on of the unfortunate that will wash those smelly clothes for a week.And may be you would have been the one who had faced that python bastard and I would have mind my own business while you skull was being shot opened".

Mike was silent, he knew his friend had sacrificed himself for his sake, he knew if Jason had left him the previous day, he could have been the last person and could have been the one shot by Thai young.
He slowly moved towards the only person he considered a friend and said "Thank you Jason, I owe you my life".

There was an awkward silence between the two friends, jason was happy that after many years filled with Diabolical experiences, he had found friendliness in someone..

"Ofcourse you do, afterall you are my boy", Jason said breaking the heated silence.

"Bleep you Jay!", Mike gave him a friendly punch..

Soon, the lieutenant was in, he stood majestically on a flat topped table as he spoke into a device he held, his voice was heard by every soul in the camp.


"Attention soldiers!, here is another day, you all know the normal activities. However, I'm not here today because of that. Last week, twenty men joined in and till now they dont have their sobriquets", he stopped and examined the faces of the young men whose eyes were wide opened, Mike inclusive. There was absolute tranquility in the room. They knew nothing good had ever come out of lieutenant's mouth, whenever he made an announcement, someone would die,and they dared not question him....

"You have have been paired into twos, although this is not fight till death, the winner receives a mighty moniker like python and Tiger but the looser a silly epithet. I believe it will be fun ". The soldiers Screamed in frenzy as the lieutenant continued.

" The fight shall begin at seventeen o'clock and fighters are expected to assemble at the arena before that time. Any fighter who refuses to show up or who comes late will be killed. Listen as I call your names in pairs', he paused for a while, trying to create tensions among the twenty newbies. Jason listened attentively as the names were called.

"Mark vs Cruz,,Victor vs Gerald, Cassette vs Amir...................... Jason vs Kally ". He finally said.

Jason's heart skipped a bit, he knew who Kally was.. Kally was a giant a boy, injuriously violent and maniacally cruel and furious. He was fond of raping male comrades.. Jason had seen him rape a fellow man some days back. He had beaten the young victim to Stupor before forcing himself into the boy from behind. However, Jason had minded his business.

Now faith had brought him against this cantankerous rapist. Not that he was Spineless, he wasn't afraid of him a bit for he wasn't going to die easily in this God forsaken desert anyway, but he knew the combat wouldn't be an easy one.

"see you at seventeen o'clock", the lieutenant concluded as he left.

Suddenly, there was an uproar of noisy excitements among them, many of them had begun to place their bets on Kally for they presumed that the fight was a walk over and practically won by him. His height and we'll built body were enough to scare anyone out of his skin. Jason was just too inferior to him.

Not that the bets were monetary values, they had bet with their meager crumbles of meals which weren't enough to suffice their unending hungers. Perhaps the losers would fall back to eating roots of plants and roaming reptiles without being cooked, while the winners feast on their lucks..

Soon, Kally walked towards Jason and mike, the slendor in his majestic walk was without comparison. Jason was furious, he wished the fight could begin already. The bastard had proclaimed himself a winner even before the fight had begun.

"I will advise you to dig a shallow grave, wide enough to swallow your friend's tiny body fox", Kally said to Mike. Jason stood still, his fingers tightened into a fist, he hoped silently that the son of a bitch would do something stupid, so that he could unleash his burning anger.

"I will personally haggle you body into pieces after your death, and host the vultures with them. But I will bury your cock in that shallow grave" mike replied as he left with Jason.

"we shall see!" Kally shouted from behind them,but they paid no attention..

Jason soon got to where he was to wash the comrades' clothes before the fight would begin. He was accompanied his only friend. Mike was amazed at the sight of the clothes that formed a large heap, he felt sorry for his friend who had been punished because of his laziness..

Soon Jason sat beside his washing partner who had begun washing already. His name was "Squirrel", he was named that because of his inferior body and the ability to evade tasks assigned to him. Mike soon walked up to him and offered him a deal.

"sup squirrel, I can do the washing for you if you give me your dinner".

"you sure about that fox? , this clothes are demm many". The Lanky boy accepted instantly.

"Don't worry pal, I was into laundry service in the state."

"Alright then, my dinner is yours ".

"deal!" mike said.

"Deal!" squirrel said as they shook hands. squirrel was known for trading his meal in order to avoid task and training, no wonder he had a small and slow growing body. Mike sat with his friend who had begun the business of the day. The stinky smell that oozed out of the dirty clothes caused disorder in their stomach but the two friends made fun of it and laughed it off.

"you could have made the deal with me you know " Jason said to Mike " I would gladly trade my dinner of one week "

" idiot, How could I make the deal with you, it will be boring without you here. Besides squirrel is a brainless mofo, even If the deal has fell through, I would have begged him to stay here with you washing. I couldn't have left you alone washing after what had happened ' Mike laughed as they both burst into laughter.

Few minutes later, a girl staggered towards them, rolling his hips and displaying his bosoms. She she was slender, with thick brown hair that caught back with orange flowers matching the loose embroidered smock she wore. She was dark in complexion. Not ebony dark but chocolate cream. She was indeed a sight to behold.

"Angel on earth" mike called out, his mouth agape as the saliva in his mouth was ready to drool.

"Hey handsome", she said referring to Jason "I'm sorry you find yourself in this mess". She dropped the clothes she held and picked up an underwear pant. "I want you to personally wash this for me" she said swinging the light fabric. Jason was Lackadaisical, he had met her gaze many times and he was beginning to get irritated.

"I will wash them for you babe, in fact I can wash other things clean,.... You.... Know" mike said dragging the sentence.

"In your dreams, cowboy" the girl shunned him. Mike was disappointed.

When she realized Jason had no interest in her ministry, she flung the pant on his face and swayed away, walking in a pompous manner. It was obvious she was advertising her goods and she only wanted one buyer,but the buyer she wanted was Indifferent..
"That is bee, but people call her queen bee". Mike said to Jason while removing the pant from his face. "it smells nice, doesn't it?" mike laughed but Jason wasn't in the mood. Jason wasn't surprised by her sobriquet, she was indeed a queen in many eyes he admitted , however if she was looking for someone to sting, she had better not come to him..

" who's she? " Jason found himself asking.

" Her name is Davina, she's from the United States too. She is one of the ten girls among us and she's believed to be the strongest and smartest..Davina is slick, Mischievous, intriguing but truculent . If you are not careful, she will sting you".

Jason was baffled, he wandered why girls were sent to a place like that. Although, most of them were criminals from different countries around the world and they had practically been condemned to death, but why send girls there among those nefarious men like python, jaguar, and perhaps himself. He knew they were weak and tender, and if the game was fair, those girls wouldn't survive, not one of them..

"She's hot, isn't she? " mike smiled at Jason with winking eye.
Jason ignored his question, he remembered his Aliya, although he didn't know how she looked, he was certain that there wasn't a girl who was as beautiful as she, not on earth perhaps there may be in heaven for his mother was now a heavenly soul. But on this earth on which he dwelled, no one, not even Davina, not even the queen bee.

It's been several hours since they had been washing but the heap didn't seem to reduce, not that they were washing to get rid of the dirt, the two friends were immersing the clothes and removing the dunked clothes. They didn't care if they were free from dirts or not. Although, it had been fun for them, they were becoming tired of the unending washing.

"Jason, what brought you here?", Mike suddenly asked "I'm sure you didn't commit any crime as you look good to me"

Jason was quiet, the question had met him unprepared. He remembered those wicked men who had hunted him for years. They had pursued him for months, their persistence had rendered him homeless, made him become a vagrant and vagabond. Now he had been forced into a foreign land, unknown land, in the midst of pitiless commanders, ruthless comrades, trainers where he labored so hard to become a chthonic monster.

But soon, he knew he would laugh last, he would hunt those bastards like a demon he was becoming. not only them, he would hunt their generations. One at a time, he would hacked them into pieces and erase them from the earth's surface. He had promised himself from the outset, he would kill them all.

"I don't wana talk about it" Jason finally replied, he knew he wouldn't tell Mike why he was there and he didn't plan to tell lies, not to his trusted friend.. He didn't want any consolation from anyone and certainly not from Fox. Mike sawhis eyes turned red, his friend must have gone through a lot, his facial expressions depicted anger,vengeance, hatred and reprisal. Although Jason had been nice and protective to him ., he knew he was hurting from within and he wished he could help. He caused himself for asking such question, he shouldn't have fed on his wounded heart. He hoped that the wound healed and if it didn't, he would assist him to hunt down the bastard or bastards who had caused him pains. In his mind, he had promised.

"I'm sorry Jay", Mike replied "forgive my inquisity".

"No, not that Mike, I shall tell you when we make it out here.... ", he looked at his friend with determination and then continued ".... Alive"....
