What about her immunity? That means causing a diplomatic row.

Legal experts have said she doesn't qualify for immunity. Apparently in SA it must be announced before entry into the country, and tabled in the government gazette first. They didn't do this with her. So technically she's a fugitive. But yeah, our government will find a way around its own rules.

She wasn't here on a official diplomatic visit......IMO she should at least be trailed!

What rules ? I guess they're trying to make the information look too controversial. I know of a guy in SA with a Nigerian diplomatic passport. Having such passport alone qualifies you for some immunity. You can't check his luggage, can't get arrested until immunity is revoked. That should be the same in SA as it is in most countries.

So obviously Grace Mugabe didn't enter SA without a diplomatic passport. She wasn't turned back on arrival means until the Zimbabwean government revokes her immunity before something big can be done except SA rules says different (if so, kindly point out to the law)

It is within the same envelope. That's not a problem.

I'm not going to entertain this argument anymore.

I just said it has very low ground clearance....which it does!! I wasn't arguing just stating a fact!

Don't even bother with Henry's Augububu stunts.

2500mm < 410mm, he's making you walk around in circles. He never bothers answering me because I don't play his game.

We all know that the current vehicle is a prototype, he's trying to equate it to a production vehicle just to cover up its shortfalls (which are forgiven for a vehicle that is yet to be tested and refined).

The same Henry240 will be glorifying a modified ARA MK2 for better suspension and all, then praise how ARA manufacturers were quick to produce a better version of the same vehicle without changing the hull.

For all we know, the vehicle could have been deliberately dropped so it fails obstacle passing tests THEN more funds are allocated for another prototype which is basically the same vehicle with shifted compartment space resulting to a usable ground clearance..... Remember this, they already have been promised funding for 8 prototypes (if jakeporeshenko is correct) so they might want to milk that opportunity as well.

**NB**

The current ARA doesn't look like the design renders... So something tells me that the real commercial product will look like the renders because why make your product perfect on your first attempt when you can be paid to do 8 attempts.

You criminal grin is that like a thing done my manufacturers ?

P.S I don’t know where you got 8 from I never specified the number of prototypes, however someone else mentioned 10 initial vehicles have been ordered by the army.

From first look no one can say if the Ara Mrap is excellent or not, we must wait the Army verdict. The only think we can debate on is the design of the vehicle thats all. For the design the first thing that came on my mind is WTF is a hugeeeeee Mrap, then I pointed the tires dimension. For the ground clearence, the ARA Mrap has a pretty good ground clearence in one of the pictures (the black & white picture) we can see the ARA from the back during the manufacturing process and also we can easilly noticed the V-hull.

You're making a common mistake about immunity. There are 2 kinds, that which accrues to a head of state and diplomatic. A head of state's immunity does not extend to his or her spouse. Diplomatic immunity extends to family members and the sending country's embassy always notifies the receiving country's Foreign Affairs Dept in advance. This is standard globally, not just SA.

With the above, it's clear Grace Mugabe neither has immunity nor is she entitled to it. Which is why her legal team initially did not bring it up, and in fact made arrangements for her to surrender herself.

Now here's what I think is going to happen: there's currently a SADC summit in Pretoria and the Zimbabweans will contrive to say Grace is one of their diplomats for the summit. Our Foreign Affairs Dept will pretend this was the case all along. When the truth comes out, Grace will be long gone and she'll make sure all her future visits are covered by immunity.

You're aware that a diplomatic passport is different from an official passport, which is different from the common passport given to the public, right?
A diplomatic passport confers immunity and as such is limited; An official passport is issued to high govt functionaries, waives visa requirements but confers no immunity.

A chronological journey of all the modern military vehicles #Made in Nigeria.

The very first military vehicles made in Nigeria first debuted in 1968, during the Nigerian civil war.

Perhaps if we had continued to pursue indigenous efforts from then up till now un-interrupted, we would have built a globally competitive armoured vehicles industry.

In the 70s we pursued local assembly of military vehicles, with the likes of Steyr 4k-7FA assembled in Nigeria at the Special Vehicles Plant in Bauchi.

However with the economic situation getting worse in the 80s and 90s everything came to a complete halt, with the auto industry on it's knees.

The good times however have now returned. Kick-stating the list of military vehicles built in Nigeria is the Igirigi APC. Nigeria's first fully operational and deployed LAV.

The Igirigi was launched in 2013, with a confirmed 23 units in service. They have served in Borno and Adamawa state, as well as with the Guards Brigade in Abuja.

Also in 2013 a small Nigerian company launched the PF series of Toyota based Armoured vehicles.

The PF, PF2 and Leopard APC.

The PF, PF2 were both purchased by the Osun state government in Nigeria as launch customers.

Followed by the Lagos state government who purchased 2 units of the PF2 and a single Leopard APC in 2015.

Also in 2015 the company was able to fulfil export orders of the PF2 to Rwanda, South-Sudan and the C.A.R

In 2016, a flurry of more good news for the Nigerian military vehicle industry as Innoson motors launched the Licence built IVM G12 series military utility vehicles for the Nigerian Army.

So far, the Nigerian Army has 3 units of the G12 in service. All of them deployed in the NE Theater of operations.

In 2016, Proforce Defence launched newer models of it's commercially successful PF2 series APC.

The newer models of the PF2 have so far been sold to the Rivers state government, 6x units, the Federal Capital Territory police 12 x units. Borno state police 2x confirmed units.

2017 also began on a positive note, as the Nigerian Army in partnership with a Nigerian company launched the Infantry Patrol Vehicle at the Nigerian Army Research and Innovation Summit in March of 2017.

6 X units confirmed in service

Seeing how successful the PF2 has been, Proforce defence decided to militarise the PF2, which it is offering to the Nigerian Air Force and Army as a Quick Reaction LAV.

The vehicle can be easily fitted with a RWS or a manual weapon station.

Yeah, like the spacing between the wheels is rather very low for a vehicle this size.

True, look at the Marauder. Its half the weight yet the wheel arches are spaced to allow for movement over difficult terrain. The Cougar and Caiman both 6x6 weigh in at 16 tons. Idk about NE Naij but the 4x4 config might well be a problem in soft sand present in much of NE Kenya and S Som.
Also IEDs are getting bigger and bigger while the enemy has also learned the technique of shaped charges! Seen the flying MRAP?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft5y9spDhVk

IIRC the Igirigi had a mobility problem? Anyway this is a good looking vehicle with a high protection level.

In August of 2017, the one vehicle which we all have been waiting for, was finally launched.

Exceeding our wildest expectations and the 4th country in Africa to build them.

The Thunder MRAP, a 19 ton monster was handed to the Nigerian army for testing. The Nigerian Army currently has 9 units on order with Guinea also expressing interest according to reports.

And you are an expert on South African emigration laws??

It's been legally found that she does not qualify for diplomatic immunity!! So why try to argue about something you know nothing about?

Under 4 years, the Nigerian industry which did not exist before 2013 has so far built 7 different types of vehicles both for the domestic market and export.

When you think about it, that's impressive!

You don't even know how to comprehend issues. Read the post again and see where I asked you to show me one place in your constitution that says so. I also talked about a standard procedure for immunity.

Chill boy. You don't get tired of unnecessary arguments?

Impressive. We need IFV's capability. I need a Nigerian company into missile defence systems maybe a huge amount on ToT will do.

Nothing bad with that vehicle ground clearance man. Anyone if free to disagree. Those are professionals building that vehicle and so far NA is satisfied, that's it.

It is very impressive. That should be the next logical area to enter. A wheeled IFV, then a tracked one. Nothing difficult in building a wheeled vehicle, where i see a challenge would be in developing a tracked vehicle.

General munitions, not just missile defence. The proforce guys are developing an ammunitions plant, so let's wait and see what comes out of that.
