Blue3k: It takes a foresight to do what is doing...it is more profitable to invest in a place, where you can easily get returns. Driving the point home...if you have made up your mind to invest in e.g. Real Estate and you have the choice of either building in your home state capital vs Lagos, which will you choose? I don't know about you, but my choice is obvious and that is Lagos...and that choice is backed by many sound and logical reasons, including vital and strategic ones. |

linearity: Stupid policy the states job is to develop state. What are you saying Akwa Ibom is trying rent these properties out or flip it for profits. No its best to invest in your own place in the long term the dividends pay more than having a few properties. Next you'll tell me he should invest in properties in London, New York, Singapore etc because it's possible to make returns. 13 Likes |

[quote author=Blue3k post=59719662]Lol our government is stupid it. Instead of investing in state in education, bring prospective investors to state owned hotel Le Meriden, or any number of things they go to lagos. They even admit to owning other properties besides this. I find it too wild to believe they are building 21 story building. Who cares I'm sure Ambode enjoys the property tax And it seems poverty is a delibreate tool to control the people in that state. |

A state that doesn't have a 21 storey building within it. Really, South south governors are clue less. What will they gain by building such a massive edifice in Lagos. And oh! It's a liaison office. Less than 50 personnel is needed in such an office

No wonder the Niger Delta, despite all that massive derivation that should have stimulated the local economy, remains backward. And you have even states like Delta and Bayelsa owe salaries. People of the former Eastern region (including the SE and SS) are cursed, I swear. Just fucckking hopeless. The North and SW should be laughing at the moorons that keep helping develop their lands while ours remain backward. 2 Likes 1 Share |

linearity: Thank you very much. I think you're one of the very few accessing the situation from a different angle. A 21 storey building in Uyo is worth less than its equivalent in Lagos. Real estate in Lagos is hot cake compared to any other state cos Lagos is the centre of the nations economy. Let's forget the obvious sentiments and say the truth: that 21 storey building if built in Uyo would only be good for pictures of Uyo skyline without any real economic again. I believe the govt has a cogent reason for building this liaison office despite the seemingly huge cost. Its could even be to save logistics costs of running state business that may take place in Lagos like hotel bills and renting of conference rooms and so on. I think we shouldn't be in a hurry to conclude until we hear from Udom. |
