I have the same problem too. Rejection letter says 6 months, but I want to reapply immediately. Don't know if I should do that .

most agents I met at the vfs gate there ask me to reapply again if I wish, that it is not a problem but I shld endeavor to show them the reason for my refusal and how I have corrected it

hello everyone I was denied SA tourist visa today, with the reason that I didn't attached my previous international passport.
my previous passport expired 2015 and I renew it last year, but I did correction of my name while renewing it because the previous one was carrying the abbreviation of my last name..After the correction of name, immigration didn't give me back the old passport again.
Though I later got an affidavit and police report declaring it missing but I didn't attached the affidavit and police report to my SA visa application because I never knew it was that important.
I actually applied for the SA tourist visa because I got admission in Lithuania and since they is no Lithuania embassy in Nigeria, the school ask me to go to the Lithuania embassy in SA and apply.
I submitted my admission letter and other necessary documents during my application too.

my question now is, I have asked my school to defer my admission to next session (January) and I still intend to use the SA route meaning I have to apply for SA visa either in November or December..but in the bottom of the rejection letter, they wrote that I can't apply till after 6 months...and November is just 3 ,months from now...
please I need ur advise urgently pls

I have never heard of such,all they could have done was to stsp it with CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE and return it back to you,it is still your property provided you have not done anything criminal to warrant the withdrawal,even the old one won't be withraw but the new one... exactly wat I told you, I didn't ask them for the old passport the day I went for collection, I just collected my new one and left and moreover I saw the old one I. the file they open for me while applying for the new one and change of data..my mistake is I didn't ask them for it wen I collected the new one.

I just called someone in immigration office now.
he said immigration can never give you the old passport once you change anything in the data.
and I think I told you that my last name was abbreviated in my old passport so I decided to put the full name in the new passport.

Your old passport was just for the sighting of the Head of that passport office/issuing center to secure his signature for a re_issue of a new passport,they shouldn't have collected as I said earlier,it means there is something sinister on that old passport.....in order to clear this,go get a valid letter from them since explaining why they withheld it.a police report and sworn affidavits means it was lost or destroyed which run foul of your initial assertion that it was held by immigration

Why ask a question that has an answer already? in your refusal note you were advise to wait till 6 months time before making another application and some people somewhere who have no direct or remote bearing on the decision still tells you to go ahead and u want to follow that? anyway the decision to apply or not is yours...All the best
