Hmm.
I remember when GEJ got wind that Gov, Sule Lamido of Jigawa state was nursing a presidential ambition. After he called him and enquired, Lamido answered in the affirmative.Next thing we know, GEJ locked down the state! For like 3-4 months, we grinded to a standstill. EFCC came n picked up key state officials including the state accountant general; consequently no one could be paid salaries n all projects came to a halt. It took Lamido recanting b4 we saw peace.

I remember PDP starting their campaign months b4 the ban as stipulated by the electoral act was lifted.

One of His aids went to his son's school n beat up a teacher.

FFK, Omokri would blatantly insult ppl on live TV but any criticism by opposition led to a shut down. His stooge IG refused to refer Rt Hon Waziri Tambowal as "the speaker" simply because he switched party.

PDP convention was an outright coronation instead of electoral primaries. Every state body of PDP was in crisis due to imposition of candidates.
GEJ didn't exactly preach n practice freedom. But if he insist, fine. But come to think about it, there was freedom to steal sha

coming from BMC? except that you are brain dead, I expect you to see the motives behind my post. I made it clear that are we suppose to justify evil act always?
APC said PDP is evil & they are we ready to do the right thing but what we are witnessing now is worse than what we experienced under PDP administration that APC tagged evil.
PDP administration under GEJ passed freedom of information speech into law while APC administration is asking for total clampdown of freedom of information then one idiot is making a thread to support such an evil act?

What's the difference with all these PDP organize rallies going to the gates where Buhari was staying. Can you organize any protest and then to where GEJ was staying?
Yes, I still remember the time of occupy Nigeria during the fuel subsidy crises. We are supposed to buy fuel at a price less than 110naira or so then but now we buy fuel at 145naira.

Good evening all.

It is no longer news that ex President Goodluck Jonathan indirectly took a swipe at the current administration in response to her plans to clamp down on inflammatory and hate speeches that seem to have become the norm on our social media space. His comments suggested that during his regime Nigerians enjoyed freedoms only comparable to those obtainable in the most advanced countries, especially in the West.

Especially, his fans and supporters had a field day doing what they do best, trying to turn history in its head, just like Jonathan himself, in total disregard for truth and recorded history!

Their conduct was appalling and shocking to say the least.

For some of us, there can be nothing more scandalous than this for we know and will not, in the blink of an eye, forget how oppressive and repressive that regime was. The only credit those of us old and shrewd enough to recollect the past can give to Jonathan as regards respect for democratic freedoms and principles is his concession of defeat in a contest in which he was beaten roundly and squarely.

Let no one be deceived, his acceptance of defeat was as much a favour to Nigeria as it was to himself. He sure knew what might have been had he done otherwise.

Now, let us take a trip down memory lane and peel some skin off "FREEROM ICON" Jonathan, and see just how deserving of the title and accolades he truly is:

Come with me:

1. Governors Forum Crises (2013): A lot of political pundits insist this marked the beginning of Jonathan downfall, forget his crass incompetence.

In a simple election involving 35 participants and two contestants, Jonathan's interference saw to it that this more or less political pressure group was fractured beyond redemption resulting in the formation of the PDP Governors Forum chaired by his stooge Godswill Akpabio and another faction of the forum chaired by his preferred candidate who lost in the contest, Jonah Jang.

The election whose video went rival at that time due to its outcome saw Amaechi pulling 19 votes while Jonah Jang pulled 16. Democrat Jonathan insisted Jang won the election and recognised him as the Chairman of the forum giving rise to the much publicised PDP arithmetics where 16 is greater than 19.

This set the precedence for the scenarios that played out in Rivers and Ekiti Houses of Assembly while our "Hero" stood idly by, giving a tacit nod to the obvious anomalies as state police were used to suppress the opposition.

www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-endorses-gov-jangs-faction/

2. APC National Leader Harassed by the Military: During the heat of the campaigns, keeping faith with their doctrine of hounding and intimidating opposition figures, Bola Tinubu had his house placed under surveillance by the military when he wasn't indicted for any federal offence. The national leader responded to this in a manner that set social media on fire, placing a banner in front of his house that seemingly pointed the military where they should be looking- Sambisa.

leadership.ng/news/411334/military-places-tinubu-surveillance

3. Journalists Harassed and Newspapers Confiscated: This was one of the greatest assaults on freedom of speech we witnessed under Jonathan. It was a crackdown reminiscent of the dark days of the Khaki Boys.

Hundreds of papers with publications critical of the government's handling of national issues were confiscated and destroyed. Same guys who supported the actions of the government then screamed blue murder when reports circulated the press that Buhari had barred AIT from covering his activities.

www.punchng.com/news/military-sss-seize-destroy-major-nigerian-newspapers/

4. APC Office Raided: This was another very dark
day in our democratic experience and marked an upsurge in the use of state security agents to harass and gag the opposition. Under the guise of carrying out an investigation, offices of the opposition were raided with computers and other instruments confiscated and destroyed. It was one of the lowest points of the DSS and somewhat signalled its complete evolution into an arm of the PDP.

The DSS at a press conference displayed items "discovered" at the office during the raid and they were computers, hard drives and other electronic accessories- hell it was a data centre!! Were they expecting to find chopsticks and stoves

dailyindependentnig.com/2014/11/apc-office-raid-dss-releases-list-recovered-items/

5. Buhari's Plane Barred from Landing: Another shameful incident where a plane conveying opposition bigwigs (then), including her flag bearer, on a campaign trail was refused landing rights in Makurdi and they had to return to Abuja. My question is, what if there wasn't sufficient fuel to take them back to Abuja as they made the u-turn mid-air?? Your guess is as good as mine.

saharareporters.com/2014/11/26/buharis-jet-barred-landing-makurdi

6. Protesters and Senator Shot in Rivers: Another gut wrenching incident that demonstrated the partisan nature of our security apparatus under ex president Jonathan. In a continuation of the government's crackdown on the opposition, citizens who were on a peaceful protest in Rivers state were shot at with live and rubber bullets and a Senator was hit twice in the chest. Thankfully, he
survived and a serious crises was averted.

www.vanguardngr.com/2014/01/rivers-crisis-senator-abe-shot-flown-london/

7. APC Women Protesters Teargassed: This was another horrid incident that demonstrated the ex president's disdain for opposition and civil liberties.

www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/police-fire-tear-gas-at-apc-women-protesters-in-rivers/

8. Jonathan Orders Withdrawal of Speaker's Security Detail: Arguably the most vicious assault on our democracy by the ex president. This much publicised incident that needs no introduction earned the ex president (and deservedly so) local and international disrepute and condemnation. People had started to see him as the worst civilian dictator in the country's history. If you ask me, this incident drove the last nail into the coffin of Jonathan's 2015 ambition.

www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/170346-jonathan-orders-withdrawal-of-tambuwals-security-details.html

9. Soldiers shoot to disperse protesters in Ojota, Lagos as secret police raids CNN's office: Here's another account of Jonathan's "tollerance" for freedom and human rights. We can all remember that administration's response to Occupy Nigeria protests except of course we want to be deliberately forgetful.

These are but a few events the Mr Freedom subjected Nigerians to. Indeed it would be a herculean task convincing people of sound minds as to the propriety of referring to Mr Jonathan as a protector and promoter of freedoms in this country.

Thanks for reading.

One must give honour to whom it is due.

The BMC crew are highly focused and committed to their task of destroying the image and legacy of Jonathan.

I respect them and as a business owner I look out for staff that can exhibit even 10% of these traits.

Of course the reality that we have slipped in EVERY SINGLE World Bank indice of economic growth, infant mortality and ease of doing business etc since Buhari came to power is lost on them because of the crumbs that fall from the APC table.

I find it amusing that OP who was initially funded from APC purse but now being funded from the national purse expects people who are either gainfully employed, students or unemployed to go trawling through media to pick incidents of Buhari's evil activities against his enemies.

Unlike him and his colleagues who have received their salary backlog this past week, many people are too hungry or too engaged to do such.

Let me reiterate, I respect their dedication to their work, it is highly commendable.

But a word of advice, many of the weak minded people who were swayed by your Crew in 2015 will NOT vote for Buhari in the next election, so if I was your handler i wud spend more time planning to rig the election than attacking Jonathan because the economic realities of Nigeria by 2019 will allow only the almajiris and a few yoruba APC street boys to vote Buhari again.

Under Buhari we now have girls in Nigeria collecting money to do porn (while showing their faces), under Buhari parents are now selling their kids to survive, under Buhari you can now get someone murdered for just 5k.

I look forward to 2019

PS. This in no way is an endorsement of Jonathan who was and still is a weak incompetent leader and an hausa bootlicker who did not even leave a single tangible project in Bayelsa state both as Governor and President

Omen a you know dey tire for Jonathan matter for almost 8 years now... Jonathan this Jonathan dat.. Ah ah.. Even Jonathan acknowledged he made mistakes.. It seems you don't pray for Nigeria to have a better president one day.. Jonathan is now your reference point.. When it comes to good leadership.
By the way
You know why it's difficult to forgive Jonathan. He was the face of what should be the New Youths, the fresh air arriving, a new hope and a new beginning. Instead what do we have? He messed up everything.
1. He entrenched corruption in all spheres of our lives
2. Boko Haram metamorphosed from disgruntled, unreckoned misfits to well organized killing machine who were able to challenge the federal might and can even seize Nigeria's territory
3. The Fulani herdsmen also became a killing machine under his nose Farmer/herder clashes that were once not a national crisis became politicized and well armed that governor Ortom once said that hey've been with herdsmen all along, but a Fulani with a gun is a new type of Fulani
4. Nigeria got divided under him to an extent that Christian were voting Christians and Muslims were voting only Muslims
5. The North/South divide became a huge issue such that the unity of the country was threatened.
6 Nigeria's security system became a joke to an extent that the constitutional mandate of the Navy, Army, etc. were given to terrorists and militants.
etc. etc.
.
This man is not somebody to have at any division of leadership.

The most amusing thing is when you try to compare the economic indices of PDP and GEJ government that have looted and destroyed Nigeria through 15 years of incompetency and bad leadership with a government that is just two years. If you have sense, you would trace the blame back to their correct origin.

Omenka wrote that Jonathan was roundly beaten. You'd think Buhari got 30 million votes and Jonathan got 10 million. A margin of a couple of millions in a country as big as 9ja, with all the Igbo voters cards SW people dumped in Ikorodu bushes, the massive underage voters fraud in the North especially Kano, Jonathan was not roundly beaten. An APC govt would have contested that result up to the supreme court.

In an uncivilised place, the civility & political maturity of Jonathan would not be appreciated by gra-gra violent mentality people.

They have come again to disbursed another lies and propaganda again in order for nairalander to be busy on. Ask sarrki and co about their propaganda so far. They are sort of useless opportunist that came in on social media to disturb the peace of the people. I think at this point I have to come straight and be blunt on Apc government so far. Am highly disappointed in their government. They aren't ready to serve the masses but only good to feed the masses with suffering and propaganda. I can't be reading some epistles of lies and propaganda and not reply on it. As it stand Apc will loose massively in all the south west state except lagos and Ondo. It will be shock to them but I have to come back and remind them more. The masses are suffering because of pmb body language to some policies that doesn't favour the economy. Nigeria economy keep collapsing and you are here telling us series of lies and propaganda to distract us. Well not to worry much here. You guys have been feeding fat from pmb government and throws out lies here to cover your party shame. Apc will be disgrace in next year governorship election in Osun and ekiti states. At least with the two states election results. Where's radical islamic fanatic sarrki that always spread his lies more as much as he can. Apc is clueless. No direction at all except blowing lies and deceit. A house divided against itself can't stand. Apc will fall massively in the coming election.

The difference is still clear. Nigeria is virtually back in a dictatorship. We should at times learn to admit some basic truths. Buhari is a retired military general and you cannot expect him to tolerate most of the things that Goodluck tolerated. I assure you that but for the checks of the national assembly, the impunity associated with a military regime would have become the order of the day.

Can the above be compared to thousands of Shia Muslims killed in Kaduna? Or unarmed IPOB protesters killed?....... Hypocrites!

Op, Its Obvious That U Are A Buhari Die-hard Supporter, One Of Those Who Will Drink Gutter Water When Next He's Going On A Leave Just To Show Your Loyalty To A Man Who Have Made Many Families Experience The Worst State Of Hunger Ever. I Don't Blame You.
You Say GEJ Did All This, Bt Did He Ever Ban You From Freely Speaking Your Mind Out? No. Rather He Encouraged It.
GEJ Create A Free Chat Portal That Enabled Nigerians To Access To Connect To Him And Say Freely To Him What They Feel About His Gov't.
GEJ Always Did What He Could To Empower Women And Youth Through Programs And Initiatives That Worked Towards Self Development And Growth.
GEJ Gave The North What This Present Gov't Isn't Willing To Give, Rather They've Destroy'd The Ones GEJ Created. Yet You Have The Energy To Punch Down All This To Damage His Image?
No P, Just Wait Abit Longer, Then That Man Whom You Call Your Saviour, Will Savor The Little Left Of You. And Then You'll Realise How Wrong You've Been, Posting This.

Comparing someone that signed freedom of speech bill into law with one that came from London to tell us how social media is his problem in governance
I have tried comparing the number of people shot dead, those whose homes were raided, those who were dragged to court because of their critical view of the powers that be, those convicted on the pages of online and print media etc during the reign of GEJ and PMB.

GEJ killed Shiites. He raided APC data centre using the DSS. He put some Biafran agitators behind bars, raided the Nations newspapers because of their non stop "attack" of his administration, etc. That's really bad. I remember "brazenly" criticizing GEJ then. I was happy seeing the rejection of the PDP by Nigerians in 2015.

Today, I'm in shock! The murderous and reprehensible crackdown on Shiites and Biafran agitators by PMB is unprecedented in the annals of our democracy.
PMB supports the freedom of Palestine and Western Sahara, but enjoys killing unarmed biafrans and Shiites.

It's only a matter of time before he "kills" our last voice - the social media - and drags us to North Korea.

Ask them to bring fact they would start digressing bla bla bla. we are talking about you bringing facts to counter the OP'S argument, you are talking about economy. If you want to talk about economy start another topic. for now bring proof to counter him or forever remain quiet.
You think we forgot when GEJ AWARDED CONTRACT OF $40 MILLION DOLLARS TO AN ISREALLI COMPANY TO MONITOR INTERNET COMMUNICATION BY NIGERIANS?

God bless your memory, Let me help you had more.

1. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi the then CBN governor was sacked because he exposed the atrocities going on in NNPC

2. The same Sanusi was placed under watch because he was about to be crown Emir of Kano, He have to run to government house in Kano for protection while his residence and and Emir palace were surrounded with DSS.

3. Amaechi, Saraki and Oshiomole plane were granded in Kano when they paid visit to newly installed emir of Kano and they were locked inside the airport. Amachi have to drive from Kano to Abuja with others in the midnight without escort

4. National assembly was locked against the speaker of the house Tanbuwa because he crossed to APC.

5. Amaechi was locked out of Government house in Rivers state by order from the above.

6. Amaechi securities where withdrawn for several months.

ETC.

I hope these are part of freedom we enjoyed from the dullard as well

That was a stage campaign plans by APC to discredit GEJ's government.

We all have seen how your one and only costumes officials under APC and Buhari's government raided people's shops in the middle of the night made a way with their goods(rices and other items).

How dss raided and adopted judges in the middle of the night.

You are a dictator in your own small environment.

APC government minister of information looked into taxpayers faces and spills "I don't owe Nigerians explanation on how money is spent".

Yes, I still remember the time of occupy Nigeria during the fuel subsidy crises. We are supposed to buy fuel at a price less than 110naira or so then but now we buy fuel at 145naira.
did occupy Nigeria stay in your ineffectual buffoon gate?
Even at that, a protest against fuel increment is different from a protest against a healthy sitting president that is recuperating to resigned just like that.
Even Carry the protest to foreign land where he was resting.
Has anybody or tribe or political party ever do that to your ineffectual buffoon?

The most amusing thing is when you try to compare the economic indices of PDP and GEJ government that have looted and destroyed Nigeria through 15 years of incompetency and bad leadership with a government that is just two years. If you have sense, you would trace the blame back to their correct origin.
Friend, You Speak As If Everyone In This Gov't Aren't Thesame People Who Have Left This Country Crippled And Unhealthy.
Pls Stop Ranting Nonsense And Go And Study Your So-called Change Gov't. If You Have Sense Too, You Wouldn't Have Replied Ignorantly.
