To the glory of God Almighty and thanks to you guys here. I got my 2 yrs visa .
I am a silent reader here. Put in application for 2 yrs uk visa on the 15th of August. Got the usual application received mail and preparation for consideration by ECO mail on 24th August. Exactly after 21 working days, Tls sent the usual messages. Got the visa yesterday. Issued on 31st of August. No escalation or whatever.
Wish all those waiting a speedy response and successful outcome.

Is this a fresh Application or renewal?

Still waiting for a decision after biometrics was done on the 14th of June. Very strange.

Hi guys, I need the gurus in house to help with a situation. I just renewed my Nigerian passport, but my expired/cancelled passport is currently carrying a valid uk visa. Now my question is this, can I travel with the valid visa by attaching my new passport to the expired/ cancelled passport which is carrying the valid visa? Looking forward to your speedy responses.

Go along with both the expired and new passport. No issues

Not necessary. However, there is the belief that applying as a family may be beneficial. That's not true as each application is considered on its own merit.

Yes you can certainly travel with both passport as long as your visa is valid and you have a valid passport even if the valid passport does not carry the valid visa.

What you cannot do is travel on an expired passport with a valid visa

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to invite my dad over to the UK for 2 months, I'll be sponsoring his trip as he's retired. He has previously visited the UK but was denied US visit visa a couple of years ago. Can you guys help clarify the points below?

- I have £2k in a savings acct and will send my savings bank statement to him, unable to send my current acct as I don't leave money there. Is it advisable to state I'll be supporting his trip in the range of £1500-£2000 as this means I'm ready to use all the money in the savings acct, do you reckon the eco won't find an issue with this?
- is £2k enough for 2 months?
- I transferred about 200k into his savings late June, thinking of printing his statement after that transaction so we don't have to explain source or do I need to add a note that I transferred this to him?
- I'll state in the invitation letter that he currently lives with my Mum and 2 of my siblings with their Children lives in the same city with him and they are planning his 69th birthday upon his return. home country ties?

- Documents from me

- Bank Statement
- SU07 sponsorship declaration if required, can someone confirm if this is required?
- BRP & Data Page
- Invitation letter confirming sponsorship, accommodation. This will also indicate he's been in UK previously and he didn't break any immigration laws
- 3 months payslip

- Documents from Dad
- Pension docs, retirement letter
- 6 months Bank statement where pension is paid into monthly (no money in this acct)
- 2/3 months - Savings bank statement with about 200k in it.

Do I need to add anything to the above docs?

Many thanks!!!!!

I will suggest you reduce the amount to say £700 so that it wouldnt look like you are spending all you savings on his trip and you will not give the VO the impression that your dad may likely stay back. Also reduce his stay to 1 month,

Let him also submit his statement of account and please explain any large cash lodgement or recent deposit as submitting acct statement alone is not sufficient, you still have to explain the transactions on the statement especially unexplainable logdements. Please permit my typo.

All the best

You apply separately but have group biometrics appointment at TLS...

Experienced guys in the house please help.

I have paid for a group appointment on TLS and linked our (wife and I) applications together.

The issue now is that my date of appointment on UKVI is different from what she chose...I did mine earlier and the same day as me was asking her to pay primetime so we just decided to choose the upper week for her as that didn't require payment.

Question: When is the actual appointment date and time? I can't seem to find any helpful information on TLS.

Hello Sir, did u receive an email acknowledgement after you paid for your visa application? After payment you received an email confirming it, same with your wife. Check your wife's and confirm the date and time. Then locate yours and confirm the date and time. Then sign into your account and change your appointment date. Simples!!! You can't change application details but you can certainly change appointment date 24 hours before your original appointment/biometrics day. Make sure you change your appointment date and time to match your wife's since you are on a group appointment. This is not to get supporting documents messy. See an excerpt below...

Nonetheless did you receive any emails after paying for group appointment like you said you did? I can see your case is somewhat different as you paid for a group appointment service in which case my info aforementioned may not serve you. From my knowledge a group appointment service paid for has an agreed appointment day. This you would have to chase them to find that out.

Thank you sir. Yes we got an email confirming payment from UK VI and the TLS after paying for group appointment and SMS a receipt came via email but nothing else.

I will go ahead to update our appointment date and time to reflect same as you've advised.

It appears earliest date available is from the week of 18th sept.

Is a bank statement printed on the 31st of August still ok to be presented or we get a more recent one?

Thanks.

Contrary to my generic advice, the group appointment should have had a date for both of you. Group appointments override individual appointments.

Yes, bank statement of 31st August is perfect for any appointment in September and you don't need any other. Ideally you should be looking at having bank statements not older than a month.

Moreover are you saying your email and SMS confirmation of group booking did not come with a date info? While you were requesting for the group booking, were you ever prompted to choose a date and time?

Good evening all! Please, I'm making a short trip into the US, Canada and back to Nigeria through LHR but I don't have a UK visa and time is limited for me to get a Visitors visa right now. Really want to know if there's actually such a thing as a visa for visitor in transit for me to dash in to the UK and out same day either on my way to North America or on my way back, please. I did read about it somewhere, but I need to understand and be sure how this works. Justwise, frontpagelawyer and others please advise

The email confirmation of group booking was to send me a receipt saying successful payment. While requesting the group booking, I was never prompted to choose a date and time.

The process was:

- Create my account on TLS
- Add both of our applications to group
- Clicked on "Added Value Services"
- Clicked "group appointment" and added to cart for both of us
- Paid 30 pounds for both
- Got the email receipt I referred to earlier.

Nothing else has come since then.

I just painstakingly went through the website again, and from the wording of the attached image, I have to contact a staff or send an email to them to fix a group appointment.

Has anyone gone through this recently?

You will not be allowed into the UK without a transit visa/visiting visa but i'm not sure how long it takes to get one.

You can as well try your luck at LHR to see if you will be allowed in, i don't know anybody who has tried this successfully before though.

You would be allowed without a transit visa into the UK as long as you can show at the border your valid flight itinerary/ticket to US. From your itinerary you must satisfy border control that you would leave the UK same day or before midnight the next day and you must stick to this. Also be ready to give a justifiable reason as to your intentions in the UK. Be confident and you would be fine. It would be worth the while to plan your travel such that you arrive London early enough in the day. Consider travel time from the airport into London city.

Did the applicant receive any mail saying the 15 days decision period would not be met? As it's peak period it may take longer to decide the application. Fact is checks are being made on the application. There's nothing to worry about but to be hopeful.

To be honest, I have not tried it grin. I am going by their published guideline/info and holding them at their word. For me personally, I would hold that excerpt of where they have it published online to gbege them should they frown at me.
