when are we going to start having skyscrapers?
the geology of Abakaliki metropolitan may not support high buildings like skyscrappers as it falls under the Asu River Group Formation. Those who are familiar with this formation will agree with me that ARG-formation around the abakaliki area is dominated with shaley rocks, which is high in clay minerals and known for it notorious swelling and shrinking in proportionality to seasonal changes, and thus may cause fatal cracking. It will require extra enormous capital to raise such building in that area, as the foundation will have to be piled at about 10-15m from subsurface to surface level, provided that resistivity and thickness is constant.

Where is the energy to power the lifts? Do you know the cost of relying useless PHCN or high cost of using generators as well as the risk of frequent power cuts? Anyway Onitsha & Aba already has hundreds of high rise buildings, with stable electricity, Igboland will be filled with skyscrapers.

I don't know why you people always resort to comparing abakaliki to ibadan any time the picture is shown, Ebonyi and Ekiti were created the same time, compare these two...agreed abakaliki is way below ibadan but miles ahead of ado ekiti its mate
