Hello house, my DD has 2 colours on his face(black and a slightly fair colour) i thought it would even out since it followed a pattern(the part close to his ears are dark while his cheeks are slightly fair. But my MIL has been worrying about it and told me to use Kalamine Lotion. Wanna know pls, do i need to use anything on it or just let it be. Is it something to worry about? I have stopped using lotion on his face and use only oil.

Let's see a picture, someone may have the direct experience and be able to advice. But if you're really worried your best bet is a skin dr.

I feel the use of Shea butter would Blend the colours eventually anyway.

Calamine lotion as far as I know is for relieving itchy skin!

I suggest you prep his meals this term and see if it's convenient for you and so on!

You can always Join the meal option at half term anyways and that will have given you enough time to scout and see if thier meals are to your standard and so on!

It's sometimes tricky though because some children will only eat what everyone else around them ie in the class is eating! In which case you may have " no choice" or decide to follow the school's time table for meal when cooking his lunch!

Good luck

Thanks. Why is Jumia being sensored, I thought they had advertised with Nairaland so they would be allowed to post links.

By the way, those of us using postpartum belts, can you use then whilst exercising?

Since people exercise with their postpartum belt. They say it makes the exercise more effective. You can exercise with yours if it is comfortable for you.

request to see their food menu list for each day/week and ask what time of the day each meal is served.

also ask if there is an onsite chef and if meals are prepared fresh from scratch at the nursery everyday- (this is very very important as I once visited a nursery whilst I was searching for one for my child and they told me the meals are prepared 2 weeks in advance and kept frozen. . WTF !! angry ). also ask for a brief visit/tour of their kitchen.

if the menu is varied and covers all the key food groups and they are all prepared fresh from scratch everyday onsite by cooks/chefs in a clean/decent kitchen, then maybe you should consider this option - if you can afford the extra cost.

my child attends a nursery where all meals are provided covering breakfast, lunch and supper. there is also a bowl of different fruits just by the exit door and the kids are allowed to pick on their way out whatever fruit they want to munch on. this means that rather than having a child snack on unhealthy food like cake, biscuit or caprisoone, etc on the ride home, the child snacks on fruit which is very healthy.

kids that age would love to eat what their mates/friends are eating so your child might refuse to eat his homemade meals and get upset and insist on eating what his friends are eating.

personally, I actually prefer the option of meals provided by the nursery as its super convenient for me (who has time to make fresh spaghetti Bolognese or chicken mushroom soup at 6am for a toddler's lunch). undecided

Please this is not right. Lot's of mothers do this but its not the right thing to do.
Children should be given paracetamol after the immunization and if there's a fever.
This is because the paracetamol can interfere with the immuzation drugs

i am not going to debate or argue this with you.

I do not know what country you live in but where I reside, paracetamol is COMPULSORY before immunisation - especially the jabs for meningitis.

you are actually given a free prescription of paracetamol during your 6weeks postnatal check by the doctor and told clearly to ensure it is given to the child before coming to the hospital for the jabs. in my own case, I totally forgot to administer and the first question I was asked (even before I was shown the name of the vaccine, the production date and expiry date) was if I had given my child paracetamol and at what time. I replied that I forgot and the nurse wasn't pleased. she actually got out a bottle of paracetamol/syringe and gave my child the paracetamol and waited for like 20mins before she gave him jabs.

these vaccines are not imported from India but made by healthcare companies located within the country so I am sure they work hand in hand with the health regulators to determine which drugs affect the efficiency of the vaccines.

different countries, different rules, different standard of healthcare, different protocol.

in summary, do whatever your health professional tells you to do. kiss

Looks a bit similar to what is generally termed or grouped under baby excema and is fairly common as far as I know.

Just keep it well moisturized it should eventually fade off.

Shea butter would help. Some mums have been know to use that red acalypha leaf to bathe babies with the condition with good results, remember I only said bathe not drink oh! The leaves are usually sold by those women who sell herbs and the likes. I don't advice using any topical creams because he's a baby! Watch for a few more weeks - maybe two weeks, if no improvement then let's try a paed!

Shea Butter Removes Stretch Marks

Stretch marks often occur during pregnancy but can occur after rapid weight gain. Shea butter helps to smooth the skin and keep it hydrated naturally. Research into shea butter has shown that it can help boost collagen production, thus reducing the appearance of stretch marks

How to Find the Best Shea Butter

In order to make sure that you get the best health and healing benefits from shea butter, it is important to only use high-quality shea butter. So, always look for unrefined virgin organic shea butter and that is exactly what we sell.
