hello i saw this ginger thread late,this kindle ma intrest in ginger farming,do u still farm it,how do i get some bags of ginger setts for planting.what machine do u use to split it?how many days does it sun dry,was told it loves shades do yurs do well in d open?

Machine ke! to split? its done manually with a sharp knife.

The people from the koro tribe in southern kaduna are good at doing this.

It takes up to 14 days sun dry very well.

During the harmattan season, it takes like 8-9 days to sun dry properly.

After harvesting, you keep the fresh ginger under a shade to prevent the sun from drying it up before splitting.

na the. Rain o.. This Climate change thing till this year.. E get as e be, april don de end, still, no sign of continuous rain... Na jus drizzle for a couple of minutes.. When person hamma na to drill borehole o... I don de ready, (seeds, manure fertlizer).

now na fresh one cost o, (farmers are hustling for fresh seeds to plant, especially new comers).. Almost 8k for a basin now.. As for dry ones, my stock is currently going for 20,500..

you have to go down to kaduna, Southern kaduna to be specific. And yes, farming season is upon us, so don't expect friendly prices, at least for now.

From October through December - January, Dried split ginger is a common sight in southern Kaduna. There is no compound you go to, that you wouldn't get dried ginger spread Around.

When you want to acquire more quantity of the split dried ginger , you can buy from other household or farmers who are Willing to sell.

Like swagifted wrote, you can get the fresh seedling in southern Kaduna, Around kubancha ,kachia Areas.

2. if you have the necessary irrigation tools ,yea.
3. five hectares? I haven't tried it yet
