Yes, you need to include bank reference letter. Whether it will show your balance or not depends on your bamk and type of account you operate. But include the letter in whatever form your bank gives you.

The purpose of gift deed and reference letter is different, so don't mix them up. While the deed is providing evidence of source of fund/large infow, the letter is showing you have the required funds and your account information.

Yes, you can fix and use fixed deposit certificate.
If you decide not to fix the money and your bank doesnt give you a letter in CIC format, accept whatever letter they give and include 6months statement of account.

Guys please I have a question. I'm receiving a gift from my brother which I intend to use as my POF. Do I still need to get a bank reference letter showing the average balance in my account for the last six months.

Also, is it okay if I fix this gift and attach the fixed deposit certificate, gift deed as part of my pof.

In this case attaching paystubs to your application can easily explain the situation.

I am one of those silent followers of this thread.

Got my RFV mail last week. Sorry, I'm posting this late.

AOR - 9th May, 2017.
Medical passed: 26th June
IP1 and NA : June 27th
File sent to London office : 9th Aug
IP2 on the 14th October.

On 17th October, got an usual ADR request: 1. Updated POF. 2. Why I got a gift deed from my brother.

On 24th October, I submitted the updated POF, a letter from my brother confirming that the deed was given by him and a letter from myself plus my net worth certificate.

On 25th October, I got the RFV mail in MyCic profile.

We have submitted our passports through DHL on Friday 27th October.

I just wanted us to know that London office is in the habit of asking for funny ADRs and we should please endeavor to keep our POF intact all through the process.

To all the seniors here, I say a big thank you for guiding us through this.

To everybody here, thank you for this journey.

Speedy PPR to all still waiting.

Hello great people...

I'm a newbie here that has just committed to the dream of moving to Canada with my family.

I troway special salute all my forbears here. Abeg make una help me answer some few questions that I've been pondering on.

A brief background on our personal situation: We'are a family of three (li'l daughter, wifey and I) working to make this dream a reality.

Wifey is to be the principal applicant (She's got her Master's). We've had our IELTS (She has an 8 and I have a 7.5) and we are currently processing our transcripts for our credentials evaluation with WES. Hopefully we hope to get into the pool before year's end.

Questions:

1. Do we need to have our POF in place before getting into the pool?

2. How can we make the payment to WES from Nigeria? can our regular debit cards suffice?

I appreciate all your kind suggestions and helpful answers. Thank you!

For yesterday's IELTS, I noticed the listening was tricky in many instances and I really don't know why. A lot of people complained after the test.

I pray for a miracle for everyone that sat for yesterday's test. That's all I can think about now. May God help us.

For me, it seemed simple though smiley but we should still hope on God for the best.

@KINGTELLER, Yes Gold in Australia was part of the story. The last 2/3 paragraphs or so

It's advisable to have your POF as early as you can, though not compulsory. It's just to help you with having your POF for the usual 6 months so you can reflect a comfortable liquid situation. But of course this is not mandatory. In addition, once they issue you ITA, you want to have everything ready.
By the time you are ready to submit your application though, you have to make sure your POF is ready.

I'm not sure about this, but I guess you can use your regular debit card provided you don't exceed the daily limit for your bank. But you sure can use a dollar MasterCard if you have one.

Wish you the best on this journey. Settle in for the long haul, lol.

Hello everyone.

I decided to relocate to Canada earlier this year and have started the process. I appreciate all the contributors on this thread, so much useful information here.

Current status:
WES verification in progress (Started Sept 6, still waiting for the delivery of my M.Sc. transcript)
IELTS: Oct 28, 2017 (believing God for a favourable result)

Hopefully I will have everything needed to create my profile before the end of November. I will keep sharing my story here, and I'm confident of your support!

As long as you're a FSW (and not PNP), you can land anywhere. That's the only caveat, my friend.

1. No, you need PoF after ITA, not when creating a profile
2. Yes, most debit cards will work. I used FBN card.

How come you applied for your transcripts before WES ECA application? You need WES reference number for the transcripts. Also WES expects your school to send the transcripts to them directly.

Hello. Pls does anyone know how much Prime Clinic in port Harcourt charges for medicals for adults and children? Also, can you walk in or do you have to make an appointment?

I was charged around thirty or thirty five thousand Naira (fuzzy now) , although I did request for a personal copy of the result - reason for the extra. You should call and book for an appointment. Note that I was referred to some place else for the x-ray test. They usually have lots of clients on specific weekdays , try and ask for days with minimum traffic. Coordinated folks too - Prime medical.

Just use your credit card if you don't want to be stressed. It's easier and faster as you will get a notification from them instantly.

Secondly, while am yet to get into the pool, I know you don't need POF to get into the pool. The pool is a somewhat assessment mechanism to determine if you have the requirements to apply. You will only need POF when applying.
