Its honda vs toyota.

A colleague is at loss as to which car to buy between the following good: Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, both v6 and 2005 model.

Please guys which should he go for. Its almost 50-50 right now at the office.

any day toyota is my preffered choice, but in terms of v6 engines go for honda. Toyota v6 authentic mechanics are not easy to come by. But apart from that toyota all the way!

2005 models.

TOYOTA CAMRYa.k.a Big for Nothing:

More efficient in fuel economy, cheaper to purchase, but very very very ugly interior and luxury-in-drive is zero.
In addendum, it's second hand value is very poor. Buy that camry today for between 1.8-2.1M, once you put a plate number on it today, the value drops massively.



HONDA ACCORD a.k.a End of Discussion:

Less efficient in fuel economy as compared to the camry, but sweet interior and exterior designs. Luxury-in-drive HAS ALWAYS been Honda's strong point in the automobile industry; a little higher than the price range of the camry, but with a much higher second hand/resale value.
Best of all, the Honda is a better and smarter drive than the camry at top speeds, anytime, anyday. Even till the 2010 models.


VERDICT: Buy the honda without thinking twice.

this is a retarded argument, toyota recalled millions of camrys/avalons/corollas even tundras/priuses and sequioas after hundreds have been killed because of failed accelerator pedals worldwide,nobody is buying toyotas now, unless you are a slowpoke.honda has not had any recalls this year,their cars are not boring like toyotas and they are better styled, hands down honda wins.Oh honda also makes better minivans and sporty cars than toyota.

young men can buy a honda s2000 or civic si but toyota has nothing for them,only elderly people drive toyota camrys.

There is no vehicle thats not really good.- depends on how u use it- I smbdy that's used his first car (KIA optima) 4 yrs on now, and still kicking, why Japanese cars succeed in this part of the world is the availability of its mechanics- good or bad,

for me, its Toyota, I understand Honda is kool as well, but one has to be weary of its suspension- (ball joint pulling off etc),

Must it be a 2005? the Camry 2005 is not too fine (my opinion) , but the quality is great and superb. the Engine is very OK, (Have u wondered why mechanics use Toyota engines in lieu of some luxury engines lately?

Conclusion- if u r gonna use the car 85% in places as Abuja, u can go for Honda if u like- but for other places- Lagos etc, Go for The Toyota.

you also have to keep in mind the perennial gearbox problems associated with honda cars.
don't be decieved by the sleek exterior and the so-called luxury-in-drive of these hondas.
when the error code 'd4' shows up on your screen, then you know you'r in for a hard time.
read the thread of most nairalanders who have gotten thier hands burnt while trying to fix
their honda gearbox problems.

take my advice and go for a toyota. it may not have all the external beauty of a honda but i
tell you they are more reliable in the long run.

i feel toyota vechiles are made 4 nigeria, so any day any time i wod go 4 d toyota

honda has won best four door sedan of the year,10 yrs straight compared to the toyota camry's once, The camry is an graet car,but it lacks soul,feel and feels like riding in a coffin.The Accord is more spirited,lively and fun to drive.

now I know not a lot of nigerians like to have "fun driving" so they fall head over heels in love with the whale tail Camry,but it still is an old man's car period, accord is much better when it comes to performance.

For the folks complaining about honda gearbox,you should have your transmission serviced regularly, our people drive their cars harshly in hot weather for thousands of miles without changing the fluid ,of course it will go out, nothing lasts forever, but it is safer than dying in a toyota that has a defective accelerator pedal(which many nigerians are still buying without repair)when it happens they will be blaming bablawos in ekiti state
