What a very sad comment. It shows you are no different from the killer herds men you accuse.
I blame the FG and security operatives for not nipping it in the bud by allowing people to take laws into their hands.
For some of you who celebrate when herdsmen are killed, how do you feel when they retaliate?
The fact is that whether a fulani, tiv,or IPOB is killed, none of them deserves to die in such a cruel manner. They are all human lives and jubilating over the death of any human shows how inhuman most of us are.
Instead of showing support from either sides, or pointing fingers which only makes the problem more complex, we should all come out and push the government to find a lasting solution.

Thanks for this comment. It's shouldn't be an ethnic issue. It's a deep fundamental issue that requires a holistic solution. It's sad the way it has turned out

sorry o but however much you try to appeal to our better natures, violence begets violence. those whose people have been killed will only be sated by retribution. unfortunately. let the herdsmen leave there. simple.

Where are those frustrated APC and Buhari's zombies are lying against GEJ and PDP as if PDP and GEJ were wrong to had handed over Aso Rock to and Nigeria to them based on pity they had for Buhari's presidency ambitions.

That means some highly placed people knew of a planned attack all along but were hoping for it to succeed so it could be coloured as revenge.

What a shame on the patrons of the herdsmen.

There's something Hausa people call Daurin gindi , I think this is it in play.
Miyetti Allah said 1000 cows were stolen hence they retaliated. His Highness is saying, Miyetti Allah are peaceful people.
Look there's no need spinning this ish, Fulani people now encroach into people's farms and when you complain they attack you. It's something I've experienced with my eyes and have heard people also complain about. They more often than not draw first blood.
I've observed that Northern leaders are weak to call Fulani Herdsmen to order or don't apportion the blames proportionally. Let he who has ears hear

there's an iota of truth to what he said but that is no justification for the massacre that occoured in Benue state..dialogue will not solve the problem but instead government should find a lasting solution to this problem and see how these herdsmen can have a ranch, pay tax for its use cos these problems always start the moment they take their cow to someone's farm

Sanusi has a good point! The government has failed to protect the lives of the herdsmen and farmers alike!

PMB is tooooo docile! Too ineffective and ideologically bankrupt!

Fvcking terrorists. 800 fulanis were allegedly killed in Taraba but your coward foot soldiers
couldn't fight back but choose Benue a soft target for their revenge killings.

The best comment I ve read this afternoon.

The crisis is beyond politics n religion and until a people oriented result is sought by all involved the killings will continue even after Buhari leaves office

If you are impacted by desertification and you see better grass in the south, why not go buy lands and establish ranches instead of just walking into a community and start dragging land with the original owners

Not all killings are equal, when you invade a property and get killed or maimed, it is your fault not that of the owners.

When I see someone talking about meaningless "lasting solution", I envision an herdsmen supporter who wants the status quo
to continue. Even if a million committee is setup, they will never make any progress unless they go for the obvious solution which
is to enforce private property rights. Tell your herdsmen brothers to keep off private properties and there shall be peace.

You are wrong on Kanu and IPOB. The SE Governors did the right thing. We don't want to end up like the NE. The Northern elites thought they were being smart by supporting Boko Haram. You can now see they were smart by half.

laudate:

The Fulani's were the first to shed blood and attack the Middle belt indigenes. The govt did nothing to bring them to book.

They continued their sporadic attacks, killed different people and burnt down various communities. Again, they got away scot free. When the indigenes decided to defend themselves because they had, had enough of these attacks, the Emir of Kano started wailing. He is nothing but a bloody hypocrite! Sanusi should carry his hypocrisy elsewhere. He is one of those fueling the crisis!

Each time indigenes of the Middle Belt are killed, Sanusi keeps quiet or pretends to be concerned. But when Fulani's are attacked in retaliation, he starts spewing fire and brimstone. He must think everyone is a fool.
This is an unsubstantiated statement. Nobody knows the genesis of the herdsmen-farmer clashes in the country as it is not something that started yesterday. Fulani's are also routinely killed and their cattle rustled by middle belt criminal gangs, this also is not a recent occurrence

800 people were killed in Mambilla and you Sanusi could not use your influence to have it covered by the media, you stood by waiting for he retaliation. It just goes to show that majority of Northerners are insane! We are talking about human life here and this coconut head is seeking justification or some moral compass. My advice for anyone that values his or her life, leave the North, let them deal with their own wahala. The government, the religious leaders and even the educated ones CANNOT protect you and your family.....BE WISE!

I don't know why we are still deceiving ourselves in this country when the solution is staring us all right in the face: SPLIT THE DAMN THING make everybody go bear their papa name! This herdmen atrocities and reprisal attacks didn't just start today but has been ongoing for decades -- dem even carry am enter Ghana. With the likes of Sanusi, Sultan, Buhari, and hell-Rufai as herdsmen patrons, it is now obvious why they continue getting away with their criminal acts.

With restructuring, most of our problems, including security issues, would be taken care of. Splitting is not the best option. We should push for restructuring. The 2019 election should be decided on a candidate's willingness to restructure.

You personally took the pictures of 800 fulanis killed to Buhari; and because he didn't act as you people had expected, you guys retaliated in a greater magnitude.

Now I'm knowing one of those behind our woes!

Is it the fault of the South that there is desertification in the North? As much as the herdsmen need to find food/feed for their cows so also the farmers need their crops to grow for bountiful harvest! You cannot continue with something that has failed or unsuccessful just because it is your way of life for donkey years and expect improvement. The truth is that with the current scheme of things such as climate change, population growth and modernization these have made open grazing unrealistic!
There is ecological fund mapped out in the budget every year! The government should address the issue of desert encroachment, water source rehabilitation etc which will favor parties from both sides! Afterall most of the vegetables consumed come from the North and it will be unrealistic for farmers in far away North to come trooping to the South requesting for farm land because of desert encroachment etc! The North practices water irrigation system for their farming, how come something similar cannot be created for the herdsmen!
I sense a cynical motive here...create a PROBLEM then proffer a fake solution that serves the innate selfish/negative interest you want to achieve. People need to stay woke...

The emir mentioned (i) desertification in the north (ii) competition for grazing areas. The second is a direct consequence of the first. Having said that , desertification may not be noticeable in the south, but competition for land is also growing. It is this competition for arable land among farmers that is exacerbated by the destructive grazing practices of the herdsmen. Farmlands are either inherited or rented by farmers, and not appropriated by Federal government as seen in the federal grazing reserves. It is glaring that the local farmers need this land for survival. Miyetti Allah sponsors and cattle owners should invest in ranches and request for support from the government. They should stop taking the stand that grazing is an age long cultural practice of the herdsmen. Cultural practices are constantly changing all over the world. They should drop the sense of entitlement, and realise that the green land areas seen in most parts of the country are a subject of interest to farmers.
