A simple float switch will take care of that. A duplicate off and on switch on the same tank will activate the borehole pump also.

Someone demo'd one here before. I think it was Brabus or Spyder880 when we were discussing placing tanks on top of roofs.

Excellent

Yes, he meant 0.45 and 0.55mm respectively.
I hear those prices change rapidly but l have not done any roofing in the very recent times, so l cant say though l used Steptiles.

Roofing Wood:
Use "Ofun" for the 2x2, 2x3, 2x4's and use Akun for the 1x12's.
It is a termite-resistant hard wood and yet it is lighter in weight compared to other hardwoods

Not sure of what the current prices will be but back then when l used it, it was #350, #500, #630 and #1,500 in the listed order above.

(make sure you can identify it or someone trustworthy can identify it for you undecided undecided )
Thanks a lot sir, you too much

Water Pressure Booster:

Here's an automatic one on eBay, you have to work with an educated plumber to calculate the proper one to get based on volume, etc

https://www.ebay.com/itm/90W-220V-Self-Priming-sink-facucet-Shower-Pressure-Water-Booster-Stainless-Pump/263386730783?hash=item3d5312911f:g:CpwAAOSwUchaMcx1

~ $30

Solar Kit

https://www.ebay.com/itm/COMPLETE-KIT-Plug-n-Power-BLACK-10W-10-Watt-Mono-Solar-Panel-12v-Battery-RV-Boat/151369522699?epid=1131870395&hash=item233e539e0b:g:1M0AAOSwbqpT2SKP

~ $70

These are bare minimums, I would spec quite a bit higher for mine personally because I don't like to do rework (something that the artisans on my site like to do angry ).

Like you mentioned, i also think this one is bare minimum for a single shower and not a whole house. It will be highly inadequate for a whole building especially with the capacity. You may end up with a minimum of.0.5HP pump for the whole house which increases your power needs.

This is a random internet picture of the kind of pump you need for a house. My boss has this installed in his house. Yes it is fully automatic.

@egun, thanks for sharing this pics but there is a mistake there when posting the pics

The pics there is VALVE,.. FLOATING VALVE OR BALL VALVE.used to regulate inflow and stopage of water into tank.(this can't stop pump)

Your explanation is FLOATING SWITCH.
This is very good to switch off the pump ones it reaches the level you set for it.

I did same for a client that complain about pumping machine here sometimes ago.

I will post the pics ones I see it

@ gbadex, thanks for your observation , it's still quick hydration which watering will eliminate if done at earlier stage
most definitely sir.
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by rotecch77(m): 8:27am On Jan 16, 2018
@adanny good pics there.
But 0.5 hp is the lowest capacity in pumping machine and with that pressure tank on it it will serve a whole building perfectly ok.

More so that pump you post there as sample is a very powerfully pump specially made it has 4 impeller which can full 2500 gallon of tank within 10min.
Regular surface pump do have single impeller.

But surbmersible pump do have about 12-30 impeller depends on the pump capacity
That is why you see bore hole pump (surbmersible) do pump faster than surface pump.

Baba roteck I still wonder why people living in high building like 3 stories need pump machine to get good flow?
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by rotecch77(m): 9:11am On Jan 16, 2018
@baba Kenny thanks,
That is a serious issue in some houses
But there is a way we do it to get regular inflow of water but some bathroom appliance such as power shower needs more pressure to function very well but yet there is still a way to do it.
Unless you need high pressure for your home which will require booster pump to do the magic.

2 types of Dangote Cement in circulation now, 42.5R & 42.5N
The different is R: Rapid curing, N: Normal curing
Always note your purpose before buying.

I think if one is not making use of mixing machine, the R is not advisable
Hand mix takes time

Very correct sir, personally i prefer the N anytime. only Block producers R is their best.

@bold Is N not even more suitable for block making...But i will prefer N to R for block making ooo. Except their is pressure to make quick use of the blocks.

What about filters, any pics of filtration systems in Nigeria?

Most homes use the first picture and the second. Multiple of the 1st is sometimes used.

I think it all depends on the quality of water or the kind of impurities you are dealing with.

People who live close to the sea need desalination filtration system which will be more complex. Others as bad as sewage contamination or as simple as sand or colour etc.

The more filter, the less pressure and the more pressure booster power required.

@good faith, this ur explanation is not clear enough
*which type of structure did you erected.
* what is the capacity of water tank did you need
*you can post the pics of the structure so that we can get clearer pics of what you mean and possibly solution to it.

I have not done anything
but I don't want it to be high
three feet from the ground
Can I pump water to second floor without any problem from three feet tank from ground
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by rotecch77(m): 9:01pm On Jan 16, 2018
If i get you clearly you need adequate water is 1st and 2nd floor without tanks there, you wanted your tank to be at 3ft on ground floor.

Ok, your case need special treatment.

This is it water need gravity to flow.
What you need is pressure pump.

The question is
* you need to consider that you will have 24hrs electricity
*can all the occupant mentained the system.
*consider that you will have standby pump incase of necessity.

You are very correct
I am looking at how to deal with the gravity flow without high

It is possible by using double or single centrifugal pump combine with automatic pressure tank

We can handle this for you.

Sir is the tank arrangement going to be 1, 1, 2 arrangement to make it four tanks on d stand starting from bottom?
What is the capicity of each tank? I guess it is one tank per flat?
What was d depth of d foundation & are these the ones called H beams?
Think i will increase my to 40ft going by your advise. Thanks

yes the tank arrangement is like you said: 1, 1 and two.

The holding capacity of the tower is for about 5500 litres x 4 Tanks, its 5500 litre tank per each three bedroom flats, 2 x One bedroom flats will use one 5500 litres and 2 x two bedroom flat will use one 5500 litres tank. it is a total of six flats.

To be honest I'm not sure of the foundation dept but it is not H-Beam but galvanized

The different is R: Rapid curing, N: Normal curing

Always note your purpose before buying.
Advantage of R
Dry faster, Curing is fast
fast construction work

Disadvantage of R
Require lots of water for concrete works
Tendency to have cracking.

Advantage of N
Watering is friendly any time before complete curing.
Hardly you experience cracking

Disadvantage of N
Slow construction work
Curing is slow
