Hello Justwise,
Please i want to apply for a Uk visa to attend a 6 day conference in scotland. The program is related to my job description and both i and my employer will benefit immensely. I already have an invitation letter from the organizers who advised that we shouldn't pay the conference fee just yet but to get the visa first before doing so. My employer (a private university) will sponsor all that concerns the conference. My salary is not much (100k in naira) though by april when i hope to drop application, i should have about 800/850k in savings. The university is going to support the application with the university's bank statement.
The challenge here is that i have had 3 denials from 3 embassies (US 2014-travel history, Canada 2014-travel history and purpose of visit and Ireland 2017- plenty reason, some of which are : previous refusals, insufficient funds (1.2m), No clear link with reference (host/my aunt who invited me) etc.
My fear is what this will do to the possibility of getting this visa
Pls, what do you think. Will appreciate your advice.

Most airlines will provide a bassinet. You will need to buy a ticket for your baby (typically 10% of normal ticket price). Remember to check in early, so that you are allocated a seat with the bassinet; if you don't manage, speak with the steward/ess immediately you enter the plane, so that they can arrange for the bassinet/+seat for you.

I salute great people behind this forum for their selfless service to humanity here.
I wish to seek for guidance on my own situation here as I continue to study the previous sessions.
I work with a financial institution for about ten years now. I earn N308k per month but I usually spend about 90 per cent of this every month, mostly on projects. The balance of my account as at December 31st is about 250k. I received 1.3m on January 2nd this year which now form part of my balance of 1.4m as at today.
I earn 1.3m on rent annually.
Am also expecting 1.7m as holiday travel when my l applied for leave. My bonus will also be paid next month.
Am married with four children but I intend to travel with my wife and our last born to avoid too much expenses. My senior brother is a citizen in UK and he will accommodating me. I intend visiting during this year Easter.
I hope my statement is good to apply this month? I hope the low balance of about 250k in December won't affect my application.
My wife also work but she had just 200k balance in her account. Hope we're good to go?
Thanks all.

My case is very similar to yours. I was still refused in as much as my employer was my sponsor for a training. The onus remains on me as a person. They said I am single, no dependent children and earnings not too strong. Even with fixed deposit over 15m through the sale of my inherited grandma ppty. That wasn't their concern.

If you are married or with kids and ur income say a minimum of 150k, you stand a chance considering my own experience.

I just dont understand why those with dishonest info/docs end up getting the visas, leaving others hanging.
Thanks for your thoughts anyways.

Saw a notice at the TLS Abuja office to call +443001232241 in case you need to have your passport back. You could give it a try.

Good luck!

Hello

My Dad is setting up a new business in partnership with a UK based firm of which i'm a director of the company as well. I have received an invitation letter from our partners in the UK. my worry now is, the trip is to be sponsored entirely by my dad and he intends providing his PERSONAL BANK account statement which runs in millions as he prefers using his personal account for transactions. every other documents can also be provided except my own personal bank statement. is there any possibility for me to be denied the visa because of this? Meanwhile i'm Married as well and i dont have any travel experience

Dear friends, I need your input here. I don’t know if I am posting this on the right place but a friend is about to make a huge mistake and I need to prove to her that its not worth it. So shes due to deliver soon, she was denied American visa three times and as she had her two kids in America already shes so bitter that this third child won’t be born in USA. So she came up with an idea today, she said since she has a valid UK visa, she wants to come have the baby in UK, pay the hospital bills no matter how much it costs then get one of our friends who lives in Nigeria but also a british citizen (he lived in Uk for years and returned some years back) to claim to be her child’s father so he can give the child british citizenship. Please what do you think. Justwise if u comment, will be realy glad. Thank you guys in anticipation.

Hello great people, thanks for all the good work.
I applied for a Visit Visa last year (business ) for a training but I could not go cos my Visa came 2 months after the training.
My Visa is expiring in March and another training has been organized few days after my Visa expiration.
Can I extend the Visa (keep in mind I didn't use the first one I was given) or,
Can I apply for a new one while this one has not expired?

Please I need your help.

As far as I know, you can't extend a visa. Also, it looks like you need to apply for a new one. You can write a cover letter explaining why you couldn't use the visa (as you explained above) and push for having a new visa granted. (I guess you will need to submit all required documents as before).

Pls help me with this @justwise @ekpotek @bigbus @everybody pls contribute. God bless you.
going through my other small business account, i made 1,397,450 (6mths) from this, i paid out 407,320k to ple who help me (6mnths), it means i have 990,000k(6mths), i calculated my spending per month as follows:
personal + random money to nieces/nephews
Aug: 60k + 8k (68k)
sept: 62k + 0k (62k)
oct: 37k + 13k (50k)
nov: 80k + 43k (123k)
dec: 46k + 5k (51k)
jan: 101k + 30k (131k)= 485k

990k-485k=505k

now the question a. total amount that you get in a year=will it be the 1,397,450 or the balance of 990k or 485k or 505k
b. what is the total amount you spend each month= how do i get this since my spending varies per month. secondly, will i add the RANDOM money i give to nieces/nephews as part of what i spend?
c. are there people who need you for financial support.... should i list these my nieces/nephews names? or i should tick NO since it is just a RANDOM thing or YES, and explain that it is a one off thing.

MY CIRCUMSTANCE:
I am single and i live with my parent, i earn 230k/mth from a regular job. i plan to spend 443k in UK for 5days. closing balance as at this evening in my small business account is 25k while salary account is 1.2m (i dont spend often).
thank you.

Hello wonderful people and citizens,

I applied for a UK visa in November 2017, it took them several weeks to respond (but they sent an email telling me it's taking them time), I believe it's due to the Christmas Holiday. In January, they responded and denied me the visa. The reason was because they said the balance (53,000 naira) in my company account is too small to fund the trip that I stated needs about 5,000 pounds. This company account has very good inflow and outflow. It had about 19 million for six months, which reflects on the statement. I also submitted a personal statement, with a balance of 2.2 million and very good inflow and outflow because I operate a security business as the MD. I indicated I am self-employed, so no consistent amount flows through my personal account. I was however surprised they did not reference my personal account. I spoke with my lawyer, and they did write a letter for judicial review. After ten days, they still maintained their refusal decision and stated I did not include the evidence (provided in the judicial review letter) in my original application. Now, I don't know if anyone has dealt with a similar issue. Please advise. I plan to reapply, but I have had no activity at all on my personal bank statement since November last year, and the balance in the account since that November is still 1.2million. Please advise. Should I reapply immediately or wait to have funds channeled through the account. What kind of letter should I write in my new application.

Letter from my lawyer for the judicial review:

This application was refused on 27/12/2017 based on the ECO’s decision; the ECO stated in support of your application you have submitted a personal bank statement and a company support documents. I am not satisfied that these documents are an accurate reflection of your personal circumstance because you have stated that you will meet the £5000 cost of the proposed visit however the submitted bank statement has a c losing balance of N54,000 which falls considerably short of the required amount as stated by you. Whilst I acknowledged that you are self employed and accept that you may not have a fixed monthly income deposited into your account, it is reasonable to except your account transactions to be commensurate to your stated circumstance, however as details above I am not satisfied that your statement of account accurately reflects your income as declared on your application. You have not provided satisfactory evidence to show that you will be able to maintain yourself in the UK without recourse to public funds further note that the balance of funds in this accounts fluctuates considerably over the period of the statement. I am therefore not satisfied that the documents you have provided are an accurate reflection of your personal circumstance.

Our client is very grateful to the commission for assessing her application but she is not satisfied with the decision of the ECO therefore she has chosen to seek a REVIEW.
We Vindan Consults are respectfully writing on behalf of our client and on her written instruction.
The ECO stated that in support of your application you have submitted a personal bank statement and a company support documents, going through the ECO’S statement it is obvious the ECO acknowledged that our client submitted the personal bank statement and the company bank statement with her application, but when making the decision the ECO only focused his assessment on our client company statement without acknowledging the personal account that has enough funds for her proposed trip. Our client submitted two accounts which are personal with a closing balance of N2millon approximately and a company account with a closing balance of about N54, 000 approximately to prove that she has enough funds which is also available for her proposed trip and also to prove the sources of her funds by attaching her company’s document.
Our client submitted her personal keystone bank account from the month of Feb. 2017 -Nov. 2017 and our client had money flowing in the account in the month of march –April our client had the sum of 1.2millonNGN flowing into the account, from the month of May- June our client had the sum of 1.1milonNGN flowing into the account, from the month of July-August our client had the sum of about 900thousandNGN flowing into the account, from the month of September- October our client had the sum of 1.1millonNGN flowing into the account. This is the transaction of the personal account she submitted which the ECO is also suppose to acknowledge the transactions as a prove that our client is entitled to her stated fund also our client’s company account shows that she has transaction of about 17millonNGN in a year. The transaction has shown that the funds are avlaiblae even if the closing balance as at then is about 54,000NGN. According to the immigration rules the account which the ECO is suppose to work with is the personal account and not the company account. The decision of the ECO towards our client’s application is not professional..
We therefore write to the ECM in order to reassess our clients application, according to the immigration rules our client has proven to met up with the financial requirement to prove that the funds are available to her and from a genuine source but the ECO chose to ignore the necessary document and information and chosen to assess the document which has no funds in it the ECO’s decision is based on a misunderstanding towards our clients application and the ECO cannot base his decision on his assumption, whereby our client was never called up for an interview to question her. Our client has genuine intention towards her visit.
Our clients intention is genuine she has no reason to travel and remain in the UK whereby she has a business which is very resourceful in Nigeria, our client has nothing to hold on to in UK, so why would she end up being a recourse to public fund. Her genuine intention is to visit the UK and return to Nigeria
We ask the ECM to review our client’s application and clarify the ECO’s doubt about her application; We would appreciate if her application can be reassessed for a better decision.
Thank you for reviewing this decision.

If your refusal does not merit an administrative review, requesting for it is a waste of time. You can reapply so far you still have sufficient fund in your personal bank account to cover the trip. You should include a cover note to point out that your personal bank statement which you submitted was not considered by the ECO. The lack of activities in the last two months shouldn’t be an issue.

Hello all,
Please I need your input on an issue. My sister is employed and earns 110k though my father will be her sponsor as she doesn't have enough in her account to fund the trip. She is married and has kids and plans traveling to buy things to sell. Please what kind of visa is she going to apply for, visit or business? Also, is it ok to be sponsored by a parent considering her status.

Thanks everyone for your advice.

Pls Justwise and Ekpotek, help me review my application to know if I stand a chance.

Cost of trip for 6 days.
Flight-£ 540

Accommodation - £37 (I booked a hostel for 2 days for a day before and a day of my exam). I will be staying with an uncle for 3 days prior to the exam...making final preparation for the exam . He stays in London, while the exam is in Manchester. He will provide me with
relevant documents.

Feeding/living expenses- £120

Transport/miscellanous- £100 (bus to Manchester is £40 for a return trip)

Total- £797 approx £800

Pls how realistic is this?

Also I earn N140k per month, though on some months I earn bonuses which takes my net salary to N200k. I spend about N50k per month and save BTW N95- N100k per month. I have managed to save about N2m in my account.

As it stands, the cost of my proposed trip is almost 3x my monthly salary and 4x my net salary.

The trip is not for leisure though, it's for an important exam that will help my career progression. I'm married with 2 kids. I'm also submitting documents from my husband to prove he is working and catering majorly for our family, while I save most of my salary.

Pls how feasible is this application? Should I look for a financial sponsor? Pls help.

And what can I do to improve my chances.
Thank you!

Thank you!

The breakdown is fine. If you should need any financial support let it come from your husband. So providing your husband bank statement is good. I would suggest that you deemphasize staying with your uncle in the application as this may be considered by the ECO as lack of sufficient fund. Just mention that you have an uncle which you intent to visit after your exams.

I am single and i live with my parent, i earn 230k/mth from a regular job. i plan to spend 443k in UK for 5days. closing balance as at this evening in my small business account is 25k while salary account is 1.2m (i dont spend often).
thank you.

Your main sources of fund is your salary. So for (a) just state what your salary is for years. You side business does not count here. (b) Provide the average amount you spend from your salary each month. (c). If you do not suppport anyone from your salary then this question will be N/A. In your cover letter, you can disclose to the ECO that you have a side business with you use for miscellaneous expenditure allowing you to be able to save as much as the 1.2M. Beside you are staying with your parent and therefore not paying rent or feeding.
