@justwise , @ekpotek hello guys. pls i need your inputs.1. i have 2 sisters in uk who are citizens. one is a divorcee and the other married. would be visiting uk soon, and i want to stay with the divorcee during my visit, but she is saying my other married sis should send in the necessary documents needed, cos she reverted back to using my dads first name instead of the last name we all shared. and which she feels might affect when writting the introductory letter and presenting the needed documents.
2. both my sis are offering to pay for my flight tickets, accomodation, feeding and any other expenses during my visit, hope this would not be an issue? though i work. should i include in the letter am paying for flight tickets, while my siblings handle the rest, to show my financial strenght? i await your inputs. thanks

How much do you earn monthly? Married or have investments?

@justwise @ekpotek

If someone states he's staying at a hotel in his visa application, gets the visa, cancels the hotel before he travels.
And he writes the address of a relative who wasn't mentioned on the visa application as the place he's staying in the UK. Will this cause problems at the POE? Someone is telling me that it doesn't matter, as the agents at the POE do not have the details of the visa application.

You are likely to be deported if caught at POE. Just pray long and hard that you are not stopped and asked

Guys, please help me out. My mom, sister and I are planning on travelling to the UK in April for visit. My mom travels to the UK yearly, her visa recently expired and she intends on re applying with us this time. We were adviced not to apply as a family becos the Vos may think we are trying to run away. Is this true please ? My sis and I intend on submitting our introduction letter from the office, leave letter, and pay slips. We intend on using momsy banks statement as she will be the one sponsoring the trip and we do not have much in our accts. Can we include our birth certificate to show relationship with my mom ? Currently she has over 3 mill in her acct and we are staying for a week with family. What do you guys think please ? Thank you

Please good people of nairaland consider my case. Attached is the refusal letter I got.
It was unfortunate the ECO didn't read my cover letter where I stated that the said #400k was a refund of the money I earlier lent my blood brother( as evident in my statement of acct).
Going forward,
Please sirs I have the following questions:
1. Can I additionally( including cover letter) provide any cash flow issues in the body of the application form where additional information is sought??
2. Do I need to submit a new application or there is a way to modify the previous application
3. How helpful is the pension statement of acct in ECo decision
4. Any useful hints.
Thanks and God bless

Good day guys, my wife's visit visa application was recently denied based on the following reasons:

1. that the documents she submitted do not fully evidence her personal, social or financial circumstances in Nigeria.
2. no evidence to show how she is financially supported and how she intend to access the fund while in the UK.

Background:
I'll be in the UK on training for 3 months (have valid visa already), I applied for her to visit for a week during my stay. We provided dependents (children) details, my financial details (being the sponsor) and others but did not include:

(1)her statement of account (she's self-employed - not a regular salary earner) and
(2)a letter stating I'll be d sponsor...although we stated that clearly on the application form (the visa officer acknowledged seeing this).

Could the 2 missing documents be the sole reason for her refusal?

Also, what chance do we stand re-applying and providing these docs, plus others earlier provided?

How soon can one re-apply after refusal?

Thanks.

Hello

My Dad is setting up a new business in partnership with a UK based firm of which i'm a director of the company as well. I have received an invitation letter from our partners in the UK. my worry now is, the trip is to be sponsored entirely by my dad and he intends providing his PERSONAL BANK account statement which runs in millions as he prefers using his personal account for transactions. every other documents can also be provided except my own personal bank statement. is there any possibility for me to be denied the visa because of this? Meanwhile i'm Married as well and i dont have any travel experience

Hi, was ur visa granted?

I'm considering buying a business in Scotland from here in Nigeria and would like to know if my visa will be approved. Also I will be traveling with my daughter, I'm a single mum.

Any advice on how to apply for business visa will be helpful. Thanx

I do it all the time. Never had an issue. But then people's situations are different. Also, I don't fly in via Heathrow. Other airports are more chill.

Can illicit drug intake be detected during visa interview? Could it be from the flash light?

Even when no medical examination is carried out can one be disqualified because of illicit drug like tramadol usage?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by fcisca: 9:49pm On Feb 17, 2018
You mean you stated in your application that you had no relation in the UK and ended up staying at their address? Pray they don't ask you at the POE though.
That is an outright case of giving false information during application and it attracts deportation and ban.

Any experienced person can always tell if you are under the influence of something... So yes, it can be detected during interview. But its based on your body language and not some flashlites

Was there a pointer that you were gonna get the visa? Was there a specific email you received prompting you to go pick up your passport? How did the email look like?

Did you receive the email SPECIFICALLY from TLS or from UKVisas Sheffield office, or both? If from both, which one did you receive first? How did the email look like?

Sorry that I am asking too much questions. It is all about being anxious.

All emails wether from TLS or UKIV are generic. There is no way you can decode if a visa is granted or not. Until you collect your passport any suggestion to the contrary is mere speculation.

Thanks, bro. Someone just mentioned (I guess on this thread) that email received from the UK Visa Sheffield with a VAF number as a reference number is almost a certainty that the visa is granted.

Hello Guys.

Please I have a couple of questions and i will be glad if someone on this platform can assist.

1. I intend applying for a visa to the UK to attend a conference. I am however uncertain about the visa category to apply for - TOURISM or BUSINESS. The available information does not categorically state under which of these subtypes conferences fall.

2. My last trip to the UK was in 2008. Unfortunately I misplaced that passport and now i am required fill in the dates granted on the visa that was granted. Any idea as to how i can deal with this?

3. Does anyone have a realistic idea of the waiting time (other than the average times quoted) as i need my passport back ASAP. NB - A friend mentioned that his mum didnt get her passport back until after 4 months.

Thanks

1. You apply for standard visa which covers all sorts of sub-visa categories, specially yours should be business or academic depending on the conference you are attending.

2. Put N/A and use the blank space in the form to explain that you can’t remember because you lost the passport.

3. There is no specific time , some get it with a month while some have to wait longer than that.

You can reapply anytime but this time around make sure you add a breakdown of the cost to convince the ECO that the money you have is enough to support you in the UK and your wife.

Applying together as a family is better but most importantly you and your sister have to individually meet the visa requirements without your mum contribution. Yes submitting your birth certificate is a good thing to do.
