The receipt is valid for one year, so, you can actually keep his aside for now till when necessary....

Thank you. When he is reapplying, can he to change to B2(TOURISM/MEDICAL TREATMENT) or still leave it as B1/B2(BUSINESS/PERSONAL) which was initially filled?

invalidates visa that I've not used that's just barely 3months. This is the confusion I'm talking about. Who has been in my shoes oooo?

Renew your passport, NIS will cancel the old one but your US visa on it will still remain valid till it expires. Attach both the new and old passport together and carry both while travelling. Happened to my wife one time.

It has happened to me a couple of times. Your old passport will be cancelled without prejudice but your visa will still be very valid! You will just travel with both passports at all times

hello everyone, i hope we all have had a good and productive day. Please i need your help with info or references to where to get info on how to prepare for my Visa application.
I was refused in 2016 march because the V O thought the amount i paid for Hospital bill was low because the government must have contributed (i used the old MIHS maternity package and paid 2300). i read somewhere here that similar issues had been attended to/spoken about in the part 5 thread, i have perused through that thread and still doing so but haven't found any useful tips/advice that may help my application.
please help out with tips or advice that would improve my chances.

PS (Veterans likeNefertiti, Ozycy, Firstymum and all who used to drop page numbers and links please get in here or PM me would be well appreciated.)

Thanks

Sorry Ogemele, I'm just seeing your message.
Hotel accommodation was good, I got the Oryx Airport Hotel. If your hotel is outside the airport, it's usually a lot of stress. By the time you'll be settled in the hotel, you'll have only a few hours left before the flight. Especially if your layover is 8hours or less.

You only get meal tickets from Qatar if the layover is about 14hours+.
I don't remember how much the room-service cost me, but you can always grab a quick burger or something from the airport stalls.

No problem at immigration. At boarding, after the doha layover, because I was pregnant, I was called aside to have a chat with an Immigration official. He asked why I was going to the states, and if I knew how much birthing costs were and all of that. He quoted the "it's not illegal to birth in the United States, but pay your bills..." line. And I was sent on my way.

ogemele:
Welcome dear. Pls can I know more about your experience in the hotel. Immigration, feeding and transport etc.

I can't say for certain, but a couple of weeks ago, DH was about to take a trip to the States, when he discovered his passports expiry date was quite close.
He called the US consulate in Nigeria and was told he needed to have the 6-months validity of his passport, to be given entry to the states.
So he had to renew his passport sharply.

You should give the US consulate a call.

Hi guys
Second missionary journey done and dusted. Came home 2 days ago. I will say two things:
DO NOT PAY ANYBODY MONEY TO GET YOU APPROVAL FOR VISA ON ARRIVAL! I stupidly paid a colleague just because I didn't want stories about not getting the approval email before my travel date and I have been seriously regretting it since.
DO NOT USE DELTA AIRLINES IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING ALONE WITH YOUR INFANT. That was my worst trip ever. I made firm reservations for a bassinet only to find out they didn't even have any on the plane. I ended up carrying my baby the entire trip. This is why I miss United airlines.

Good luck to everyone. I'm done grin

Please how much did you pay to add your infant to your Delta ticket? Also did you pay over the phone or at the airport? The quote they are giving me is ridiculously high

it doesnt matter, let him book his appointment for a date after you would have arrived in the US. The main issue here is your ties to Nigeria and it clearly appears to the VO in question that it is questionable when you both jet out at the same time
sazlex:

Thank you so much for your advise but the issue is that i already made Visa payment for both of us today out of desperation and the fact that the price was going to go up. I never thought the fact that we applied together could have hinder our visa approval. Please is there anything i can do? I need help here.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by freshdad: 11:08am On Mar 22, 2018
IMO, 12k may seem too low a figure for the entire trip on a general basis. Somewhere in the region of 15-20 is more like it. 12k doesn't cover emergency should it arise et al. i may be wrong but you can reapply
Mamaiyanu:
1. 12k ... altho she didnt even ask for my budget sheet or cost of the trip
2. 8k dollar equivalent in the gtb account statement she checked, 9k dollar equivalent in the mutual funds statement she didn't check
3. Personal please. But what we have in both gtb and mutual funds account is equivalent to half of our annual incomes combined.

Do you think I should reapply and transfer the money in the mutual funds to the regular account? Can I transfer it gradually so it doesn't look like an obvious lump sum transfer?

He can change it to b1/b2 I think.

You can try Abuja as well for a faster date. I wanted to reapply in Lagos but the earliest date I got was June 11 after refreshing like one million times and checking at odd times of the day and night.

I decided to peek at Abuja and voila! April 26 was staring me in the face. I jejely changed to Abuja sharply.

All the best!

Good day people,
Pls how do you handle a case of someone that gave birth twice in the US, paid all her bills and collected zero balance letters. Subsequently applied for renewal via drop box and was invited for interview.
The interview asked for all the receipts , she gave all itemised and zero balance letters, vo just flipped through and said to her you were given discount of over 9k. She responsed that she was self pay and that the hospitals has a package for self pay international patients.
The vo looked at the birth certificate and told her you said you are resident there that is why the birth certificate has a u.s address on it. She said no, not at all that she said she is international and even gave the hospital her passport. That the address on the birth certificate and even receipts were for correspondence since they asked for a local address incase they want to post things, that they dont post internationally. He went ahead to deny her on 214 . She called the hospitals and doctors offices , they said she is not owing them as stated in her zero balance letter.
Pls who can she talk to?How can this be handled?

Some VO are suspicious of large hospital/doctor discounts. Please re apply. You may get another VO who has a different view. If denial was in Lagos...you may want to try Abuja.

@all, not sure if I'm nit picking but given this experience regarding the US address...maybe people should indicate their residential address as the Nigeria address and indicate the U.S. one under mailing address...so it's clear.

As I already responded to this same post on another thread.

Apparently, that maternity birthing package that you used was meant for women who can show proof of being full time Maricopa County residents and of which you were not.

You were just an international resident who so happens to stay temporary in the county just for birthing purposes.

I paid $417 over the phone with my card. I guess it's not cheap because of the season. People are starting to buy summer tickets and all

Hi all,
Please I need advise to the following questions
Had my baby in the US on my last visitor visa, Paid all hospital bills in cash, have all receipts, Did not use medic aid.
I want to renew my visa as its expired.

1-My husband's visa will expire in early August , Can he apply for renewal in April for a planned trip for end of August or is too early?
2-As i had a baby is it ok,me and my husband apply together or is it good we apply seperately? Both have been issued visa before seperately before marriage.
3-Is it obligatory to apply through drop box if you had a visa before or can you still apply to the the face to face interview? For our situation which is better? drop box or face interview.
4-Couple have a child who was born in the USA, when filling area people travelling with you on the DS160 form , is if advisable to state the child will be travelling with parents as visa is not required or is it not necessary?
Thank you.
