Man, I tire for all these people oh.
Thank you for saying the truth.
Indeed we live in an age of brain dead intellectuals.
A lot of people have been brainwashed by the Caucasians.
Glad to see some of us head still dey there.
I noticed how overly stupid Nigerians are yesterday..... they were all over the internet congratulating royalty yesterday for their wedding but will always diss their traditional rulers....it's really sad that we are facing neo colonialism

They weren't stolen, they were war booties and with all booties, the winner takes all.
If taken war booties was a crime then Benin kingdom is guilty for taking same from their
weaker neighbours while also imposing permanent levies on them.

This your logic caught my attention. Just imagine what Benin will have to pay back to Lagos, Ekitis, Owo, Akure, Delta State, Onitsha, Abia State, Anambra up to Ida, Kogi and Benue State, Ikwere in Rivers and part of Cross Rivers that they once subjugated and collected levies from.

I was going to post about it yesterday, but declined for some reason I can't remember.
However, these STUPID lot can't see the political undertone of that wedding.
Black pastor, black choir, black guests, and a mulatto bride..... Just after Theresa May stated that the UK had to restrengthen their relationship with Africa amidst China becoming Africa's number one trade partner.... Anyone can actually do the Maths here.

thank you for making sense.

war bounties isn't the same as thievery. war is a game where the winner takes all. that's the way the world has and will continue to work.

besides, those artifacts are being appreciated over there. what exactly have we done with the artifacts that we have with us?
can we even boast of a single world class museum?
some of the comments here honestly remind me of the biblical parable of the three servants. we can't even manage the "talent" given to us yet we want more.
smh.

u made my day with the last paragraph......they are scared that china is developing Africa and Africa is actually making china great with our resources.with time, western oppression will end..u can clearly see how many African countries like nigeria and Zimbabwe are adopting Chinese yuan as means of exchange.it will end the Trojan horse attitude of dollars and westerners

Was it stolen or made a gift by the Oba of Benin?
I'm sure the Oba in council are aware of the presence of those artifacts at the museum. Do some background check before crying wolf.

Modified.
The post has been edited after I made my comment. When I read it, it was the facebook screenshot alone that was written.

Oba never made a gift. It was stolen or better still taken away by force.

Its an open secret ; why don't you know? The Brits will never release it

Irrespective of the fact that those artifacts are being appreciated over there, I believe the British should pay us rent for them. They make huge amount from those artifacts yearly. I believe a certain percent of the money they make should be given to us.

cheesy grin. Honestly I don't see us managing those artifacts. Common pothole that we see everyday, we can't manage. Talk more of artifacts that we don't see everyday.
and oba was able to manage them in over 400 yrs even without technology?.....they were in palace as artefact, decorations, memorabilia and sacred objects....nobody could steal any until British came

Artifacts has a surprising way of reminding a people of their heritage....the heritage is lost, religion has completed the job to lose Africans of their histories forever...ignorant blacks even see their ancestors and heritage as demonic
just like how stupid nigerians were busy celebrating British royalty yesterday after their wedding but will diss their own traditional monarch

Let them keep them. Each of those artifacts worth millions of Euro. Release it to Naija and they start missing from our collections.

Maintenance Culture here is Zero. Can we give them such world class care they are given there.

I love my country but our leaders suck.

Keep them for us till we have good reasonable Leaders who are sincere and Focused.

If not that am fasting, I would have used the word BASTARD for these thieves called Britons. I was still talking about all the stolen Benin artifacts with my younger brother. They stole our resources used it to finance their ostentatious lifestyles. Some, mumu Africans especially Nigerians were celebrating the Royal wedding. Please, Nigerians and Africans wake up from your slumber, stop licking the ass of this white men.

Returning it back to Nigeria will just add more spiritual problems for us. Lets just leave it there for the time being undecided
What spiritual problem? As religious has Iran is, some years back their ex-president Mahmud Ahmadinijad received a lost artifacts used byCyrus of Persian back from German curators and archaeologists.

Pls Britain, bring back all our stolen artifacts. You are still keeping thousands of them.

Is it your own?. Ehn answer me?

You took us slavery, took our territory and now you give us freedom. True Freedom is not given.

If we are free then why are you still stealing from us?... Why can't you leave us alone?

Must we be gay like you?.. Is it by force? You also want to steal our morality?

Please you have your own sculptors.. Pls return our piece of art before I.......

Is it also Britain that made you fornicators and made your leaders corrupt?

Some people are too funny with their comments. They said those artifacts were not stolen? It shows how poor they are in history. Haven't you heard of Invasion 1897, where most of the Benin artifacts were stolen. If you are too lazy to read, go watch this movie "Invasion 1897 by Lancelot Imasuen"

That is what they do best. Stealing from people to maintain their sanctimonious society. The British royal family if you must know is being maintained by the wealth that was stolen and is still being stolen from their colonies and former colonies. Example Nigeria, that is why they always support one Nigeria as presently structured even though its obvious that the defective behemoth they created is not working.
