geotherm,

Firstly, After scanning your documents, start compressing each and every one of them using Microsoft office picture manager, compress the quality of each document by clicking on Edit Pictures option which can be found on the top bar. Then select Compress for: documents. After which, you then merge all this documents using smallpdf.com, and compress it again using smallpdf.com. You will get your documents quality within the range of 2.55MB-3MB leaving them with an original outlook.

Good luck!

hmmm... it took me 3 days of doing nothing else than compressing files. At some point, i was extremely fatigued.
But here is what i realized that helped me along the line.

1. Scan as PDF. ( Not all printers do this, as a matter of fact only big printers do this). i used the HP printer laser pro 200. Scanning your docs directly as pdf reduced the size. Scanning as image or picture is quite heavy and even when you save as PDF it is bigger than if yoiu had scanned to pdf directly.

2. Use ilovepdf.com to compress files ( i noticed its the best PDF compressing tool. it reduced smaller than others. It also allows you an opportunty to choose the quality of the document you want.

3. Another option if you wanna even reduce the PDF size after scanning to pdf is use select tool on PDF and select the picture from PDF and paste in word. The size even comes out smaller.

its a lot of work compressing until you get 4mb but you will get it eventually

goingforward.

Asapant, kindly insert your referees official mail, Uottawa will send them a link to reply and respond to your reference.

Kindly follow their instructions on your application portal. If your referees are asked to send official reference letters, then contact them and get them write the letters while you send it via DHL yourself. Most times, Uottawa request for official and unofficial reference letters.

Please I have a question.
If one successfully top up his HND to BSc with a recognized private school in Nigeria, how possible can you proceed to master abroad ? The reason for my question is this, I read in one school in Canada that for you to be considered for masters, you must have BSc with study period of not less than 3yrs.

My fear is that, if you top up in 2yrs, won't this be reflected in your result and thereby falling short of the above threshold?

Please a well informed individual should clear me on this.

GOOD Afternoon house, please i need your advice.I applied for Canada study permit and i was refused permit because of the following reasons; I have not satisfied that you would leave Canada at the end stay of your as a temporary resident. I considered several factors, including; travel history, purpose of visit, personal assets and financial status. Please bear in mind that, I have only traveled to Ghana before, and I paid $8k out of $14k school fees and got scholarship and study leave from my employer amounting to $7k and had 3.5m account balance. Also, I am self sponsored, attached my employment letter and confirmation letter.
Please how do I take it up from there ?

Can u share your profile pls so can be duly advised. When did u apply, refused and have u applied for your gcms note?

Must my referees send their Letter of R through official email address ??

Yes, it has to be an official(institutional email as they put it) email address. That way, the school gets to know you are not the one refreeing yourself. Anybody can own a personal email, but you just cant own an email with the name or acronym of an institution if you dont work there.

Think of it like the official and unofficial transcript you send before and after you recieve your admission.

The reference letter required my uottawa is to be sent online, not through courier.

To attach files, 1st scan in PDF, then use free applications like ''Nitro pro'' to merge, arrange/rearrange them in the order you want (i.e. pagination etc). Then ''Save'' the combined files and check if under 4MB. If the file is more than 4MB, use ''ilovepdf.com'' to compress the combined files and select how much compression & quality you need. After working on ''ilovepdf.com'', if the file is still too large, then try recompressing/further compression on either ''pdf2go.com'' or ''smallpdf.com''. All these sites are free and allow you to upload your files for free compression. Good luck

Bro... someone gave you an advise but you seem not to have taken it atall and I noticed. We all learning here though and we understand how ambiguous this whole process is. From my point of view what you have together isn't feasible to scale through so you don't waste your money. Firstly You in a common law relationship with 2kids and you want to take everyone to Canada at once. It's marriage that can only work for that. They should be your home ties. You are simply relocating as they put it. And your wife doesn't have the financial strength then how would it work except you earn like 1million per month minimum. You ddnt mention if it's masters or pgd sef, ohhh I remb it's college which doesn't carry enough weight as Univ

The advise someone gave you is the most logical one. Get to Canada first befr dreaming of relocating your family and if not probably for one of the kids you could get lucky.

Relocating family works for company owners based on those that I have seen not students who are likely to still seek funding one way or the other.... I'm only opinionated, I might be wrong though. Almost everyone has someone who is family and good to take along when it pans out well, but it's called extra or excess baggage.

@olugere, this was previously addressed. It will be wrong to complete Common Law declaration form except you do not have proof that you are married. What is your status? Married or in Common Law relationship?

Greetings my people.
So I was refused study permit yesterday.

My question is this : can I apply for the permit from within Canada? I already have a scheduled trip to Canada in July/ August because I have visitor visa valid till 2020.

Elders in the house please advise me.

Thank you in advance.

We need the Guru in the house to advise us. Is this actually possible? I still have a valid visiting visa. Can application be made within Canada? Am searching CIC site, can't seem to find a clue.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Nobody: 5:12pm On Jun 15, 2018
i just got it now am grateful
If you are in a common-law union, you must also fill out the Statutory Declaration of Common-law
Union (IMM 5409) form and include it with your application. If you are married, you must send a
photocopy of your marriage licence or certificate with your application.

From the little info i have.
Yes, you can and such applications i heard are being treated in their Los Angeles office and the refusal rate for such is high because when in such situation, it is always difficult to prove home ties and how of a genuine student you are. You flew into the country to visit in the first place, how easy will it be to convince the VO of your new intention of been a student who will go back to his/her country afterwards. Few immigration consultants i know usually advice against it except you can really prove home ties to your country.

Hello, 1st things first, apply for and get admission, use this https://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/search?country=canada&subject=&name=
Check all the schools that have related courses she needs, MPH can be really competitive so apply early, when she gets admission then planning for visa is next.

I applied for trv with a conditional letter of admission. Having fulfilled the conditions, is it advisable to request for the unconditional letter of admission and mail it to CiC??

You can only apply from Canada if you are a legal resident there (eg. If you are a permanent resident or have a work permit). You cannot apply for study permit on a visiting Visa.

I understand this rule but yes, it is possible to change status in Canada.

reading through this link, such an individual might fall under "other applicants category"

I think when you have a visiting visa you don't need to come back to study visa because you will definitely still apply for PR, so within the space of 3 years you will be applying for 3 categories of Canadian visa

Try to request for the unconditional. But it may not be absolutely necessary to mail it to CIC just yet. They may or may not request for it.

I applied for TRV with a conditional admission letter. I was granted the TRV without any request from CIC for the unconditional letter.
