But the drivers that are making 400k plus are they not these ones I see at every bus stop? That always gather and be gisting and be waiting for request from God knows where, some have turn their car seats to their bed. In some places they even have benches they sit to gossip and talk about their experiences with the riders. Yesterday night come see men at Admiralty way all with their apps on most sleeping in their cars. People at home be like 'he went to work'. I beg I no wan talk

I see u make some statements without deep thoughts..you talk of drivers sleeping in vehicles to meet targets..or whatever
Do u need me to give u 1st hand experiences of bankers who earn 180k+ monthly..the ones u see in Posh suits and shoes but slave themselves to meet targets and work long hours..close from work awfully late..get up 5am to face a BRT queue and fatigue-inducing traffic to work..and back home at night as well...?
Ppl who are so enslaved to loans to do stuffs with their life and end up working their ass out to pay them..who can't even save 35% of their salary monthly.
Peeps who gossip during free hours discussing how a modern day slavery their job is.

Yet ..we see them and tell ourselves..that is a prestigious well dressed bank worker on the way to his/her air-conditioned office.
Does that make a bank job totally useless..?
Not only bank jobs..but in other sectors too

U can't come up a thread with myopic expressions to score cheap points in a debate..
Every vocation has its ills ..big ones at dat..

A full grown man with a 180k+ job who heavily considers resigning is not stupid..you don't live his reality. Trying constantly to dissuade him from trying o his hands out in new waters by painting horrid scenarios to him and others here makes u reek of hypocrisy.

Som1 is dying so bad to be wherever u are today; someone elsewhere is toiling so hard as well to leave that stage u are currently trying to get to in your life tomorrow .

No one who has been following this thread will Give him a vehicle.

He must first earn his stripes.

But how do you manage to earn the stripes without a car??

Now all partners want Experienced drivers....... Which is not bad though, as they feel those ones will handle their cars better and work better.

But does it mean no chance for new entrants again?? Unless you are able to afford your own car

Register on uber (no car required) borrow a friend or family's car for a day (after uploading docs and activation) try out e-hailing first hand, search for rental, Gain Experience be sure it is worth leaving your 181k job, then search for a HP deal.

A quote from nasty nas ..just coz am not in the street does not mean I don't know what is going on ... I just got off the phone with my source.. He stated that he saw my comment on nairaland... about driver owner making 400k net a month.. And I put this on my unborn child.. My guy told that it is possible, and he stated that some days are dry and some days will boom ..the booming days u will use to make up the dry days.. Again this is reliable source.. I have never meet this man face to face before. But we have done business bass on trust .. And a year later we still friends till now .. My point is I don't have to be on the road to know what is going on ....
People out there do your research very well before going into uber.. If you own your car ,you can 400k net a month o ,it is not easy, but it is also possible.. I gain nothing by spitting out lies , you see which is very disturbing, at least 60% of these drivers can not wake up in the morning and look themselves in the mirror ,due to so much lies they spit out on nairaland.. I also sold oil to another driver owner ,he stated to me that he makes 300k a month o .. May God help us all especially the liers on this forum.. Amen o

But bringing his wife who probably has no idea he is even on Nairaland into the discussion is a jab below the belt though smiley

When you are trying to throw jibes at others or trying to caution others, Somehow it tells the kind of person you are too.

I really think we should learn to tackle issues heads on and face whoever we are dealing with. Bringing families or outsiders into it is really not a cool one sir.

Our differences makes all of us who we are afterall.

How can you compare someone with a fix salary with Uber Job? Someone who is sure of his regular salary at the end of the month. Even if he spent all the time gossiping or idling he's sure of his salary. But then I see you were the one that didn't think deeply before replying and I won't bother replying you again. Read my comment again, okay what I actually mean in a sarcastic tone is they sit down there gossiping or be sleeping in their cars because of no request. I will never discourage anyone that want to quit his job to join Uber, like I said earlier let him use some weeks maybe during leave to try first before finally making up his mind to quit his job. You don't dip your two legs at once into a river you don't know how deep it is. Thanks

Like I said we can agree to disagree... if a 50 something year old can constantly deliver is rental for 4months now, and he has not cost me any major repair work .. I don't know what else to say o and the old man does does not have two heads ,the last time I check o .. And am sorry to say I don't think the man university graduate o ..so imagine if the man is the sole owner of the car ..

100k net weekly you meant. In that case. The man must be making more than 150k gross a week.

Hmmmmm... Well I don't need to debate it with you... Let him start to gist us how it goes in one month.

Also, that your driver should ve been the driver of the month. Because the driver of the month do not have sure records. Get screenshot of his past 3months so that I can know how to write petition against Taxify for not choosing him as the driver of the month na.

Bros God dey o..

If you see a driver talk you'll know, partners can only talk from what they hear. Unless those partners that always do part time, and they tend to be more considerate too.

Well said, bro.

@dru, no one is saying uber/Taxify is not profitable. It not get a get rich quick kind of business of those who drive themselves. I gave example on myself sometimes ago.

If I'm very luck at a time for a rider to count out 15k after paying for his actual ride fare, do not mean, its going to keep happening every week.

400k net every month for 4months(1.6m) and the driver is still driving for you without thinking of HP after remitting only 160k each month (640k)... Cough!

Megadrop:
Bros, I wonder where you get some of the facts you present on this thread atimes. It cud be misleading u know. For the fact tht ur driver hs bn remitting constantly for 4months doesnt mean he makes 400k net! Net is the earning after all deductions hv bn taken from gross earning. Invariably, u are saying tht monthly earning will be like 500-600k bringing it to 400k after statutory deductns hv bn made. This is laughable.

Hv u taken time to know hw mch car owners tht drive on uber/Taxify make as gross monthly. You dont stay in Nigeria I believe neither do you drive on uber here so where did you get ur fact from. Bros, u practically do not hv first hand information abt this business. Forget abt what some drivers come here to display to you. Drive to experience it.

Abnitio before the influx of so many drivers and cars including dead ones being churned out by greedy partners as a result of misleading facts like this i cud say its possible. Someone reading this thread for the first time with this fact you jst gave will think Uber business is heaven on earth and thts why some people after reading this will start thinking of resigning their paying jobs for uber jst because of all this misleading and unverified facts. Well, am nt disputing the fact tht there is money in ehailing biz.

the more u talk(mostly out of context).the more of yourself U reveal sir and not in a good light at that.

1. Do u realize the ones who periodically get laid off by banks, oil companies etc, once had your FIXED SALARY?
Nigeria's largest P&G plant In ogun state closes down this month and many more Nigerians will lose their jobs with a once FIXED SALARY

2. I'd like to assume u know what job security means; if u tell urself that exists in this economy..I dunno what to say to u anymore

3. Whoever said to dip his legs wholly in a river?
It's so strange how u badly describe a vocation over 10,000 riders are currently engaged in; in a bid to make someone get a point..
It's either u are not happy with yourself or your job;
either ways...neither of them is a recipe for progress.

grin grin On a lighter note tho..ppl who worship a 180k+ job in the name of fixed salary are just the types who are afraid to take giant strides in their life..
The types that are more interested in monthend alerts than the value they add to the organisations themselves.
I don't advocate for quitting his job outrightly..but u supporting the idea that e-hailing biz is useless enough to go back to a 180k+ job for, is hypocrisy to me

In the end.its the ones who were stupid enough to take the steps u refused to take that end up employing u..so u can get a FIXED SALARY that u want, coz u are afraid to make money by virtue of your direct input.

I now understand u bro..

I understood everyone's view. I often comment on the thread mostly whenever I see a wrong figure, wrong info about the biz and fraud alert.

Newbies need to learn from our experience ( both drivers and partners)
You are mostly on point when you talk on behalf of car owner partners and often wrong when you talk on behalf of drivers.

Advise base on your own experience and defend your point like you have always been doing like a professional cars owner.

And let your driver come proof themselves to shed more light to how they meet upto 100k net everyweek for 4months n more with proof of evidences.

I ve loads of screenshot of my activities. And can only argue base on the type of car I drive.
