President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Tunde Lemo, as Chairman of the Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency.

Buhari also appointed a new managing director and six members of the board of FERMA.

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read a letter from Buhari at the plenary on Thursday in which he sought legislative approval for the appointments.

Again, this is what we call political patronage. And Buhari is fast becoming a pro in it. It's a norm world over; it only becomes bad when it is taken to the extreme. Trump knowing the great contribution the Evangelicals played in his election has never ceased to throw in policies - both local and foreign policies - to appeal to the Evangelicals, as a form of pleasant payback.

Yorubas have benefited alot from this government in terms of major and juicy appointment like the way the Igbos did in GEJ government. Yorubas please be magnanimous in saying no and rejecting some of these appoinments so that we in the South-South, Niger Delta can have more we are not part of secession.

Any way i don't envy you people you're reaping what you sowed, your votes were the deciding factor that made Buhari president. Other two zones gave 5% and are paying for it but my zone fortunately is let off the hook because we produce the goose that lays the golden egg the need we are still benefitting from Buhari some how despite our 5%.

May be we gat the bargaining chip(Crude/Gas) like they use to say.

And so the Senate finally gets the letter 9 months later.

But then again, how fast are bureaucratic processes generally?

Some people don't see the big picture.... One of the policy of this government particular Fashola is to include toll at the highways in order to maintain the road and bring in private public partnership... Maybe if you understand.. You'll know why he was appointed

Is it all the governors that studied political science or any related course.

Managerial skills and all I understand, but do you want to tell me their are no other candidates that are more qualified for this post? People that understands the construction industry very well and also managerial skills

If Fashola (a Lawyer) could be appointed Minister of Works, Housing and Power (core Engineering based ministries), then it's nothing for this gentleman to go from CBN (Finance) to FERMA (Engineering).
