their divide and rule is felling them but they still insist on their stupidity. most people in ss who knows how they came to be, identifies with Biafran's except some few who wants to keep acting like fowls......with some vital points made here, I don't see any reason why a Biafran will keep engaging a fool that doesn't want to make crucial research on these points instead arguing like dumb ass without facts.......smh........

the thing is since my yorubas n hausas think SS is igbo, when they see a fine ishan, isoko, ijaw or ibibio girl they will say 'see fine Igbo girl' Igbo will get the praise.

I remember in lagos when one yoruba guy was calling names of fine famous Igbo girls, i was surprised he was calling names like:- Ini edo, agbani darego, ruth kadiri, mercy aigbe, belinda effah, nancy isime, eva alordiah, amanda ebeye e.t.c, as Igbo girls? thing is many things people respect igbos for is actually cus dey confuse SS with SE. i didnt say this to bring fight o

LOL!!!!

i remember my days in uni ibadan when we did cultural day, we were grouped into four groups: yoruba(SW), igbo(SE), south south(include igbos in SS), and Hausa + northern minorities(including igbo n yoruba in benue, kogi n kwara).

based on yorubas thinking, they thought all those crazy ekombi n owigiri dance were owned by igbos, so they always mocked SS thinking we have no culture cuz they felt if we had they would ve known, but they knew our culture, they were just mistaking it for igbo. To confuse them more, while north, west, east were speaking hausa, yoruba, igbo, SS was speaking pidgin due to different tribes so they felt we didnt even have our own languages, we were the real underdogs, or so they thought?

going to the cultural day the SE were the favourites, on the day itself, SS killed the show

in dance, combining the acrobactic ishans, with the efik ekombi dance, the urhobo kiki dance, n the ijaw quick waist twisting, we won the dance competition

in dressing, a male dressed as an ibibio man, and a female dressed as a bini woman, we took fashion too

in food, our arsenal of afang, banga, bini groundnut soup, ofe nsala(so it doesnt like we are sidelining the igbos from SS) eaten with rivers' onunu, itsekiri's gun bobo, delta's starch n general akpu, we took food

in folklore dramatizing, we didnt need an interpreter since we were speaking pidgin, though strong warri kind of pidgin, and we acted the drama in form of a comedy, we won it handsdown too

Four competitions, 1st in all four, they are only two regions in nigeria, South South and others

yes now! all this tinz pepo praise igbo for, its cause theyve not seen Southsouth style.

Igbos are even aware of the ignorance of yorubas n hausas n they use it to their advantage, for example, they claim they own the resources n r the life of nigerian economy yet they are marginalized. When really, we know the truth that 96% of nigeria's oil is from SS, n oil is over 90% of nigeria's economy, as for the marginalization aspect, if igbos are marginalized what will you say of the SS tribes

Up South South

The one zone Igbos cannot use their "our resources feed this country" wahala for(resources ke), the one zone most respected in Nigeria, the one zone that Igbos are not better than at everything, the only real competition for igbo culture supremacy, they best the hausa n yoruba pepo in everything but the only challenge Igbo pepo cannot surpass are the SS people, AREA!

you think im contradicting myself because you think the ukwuani, ika, ogba n ikwerre are igbo, well they are not.

in delta, Igbos can be found in aniocha n oshimili areas, but when get down to ndokwa, obiaruku and kwale, you start to see the ukwani people, mind you this ukwani people are NOT a dialect or sub group of igbo( like aniocha pepo), they a different ethnic group all together

nonsense

Rivers is only about 20% igbo, mostly in extreme rivers north near imo, go to ph and see if the ikwerre and ogba people see themselves as igbo

in Delta, igbos are about 20% too, ukwani n ika are not igbo and most are annoyed when others group them under igbo, they are their distint ethnic group

since you dont want to agree that more than one tribe can share a name, i wont talk to you again

nonsense

a lot of ikwerre and ogba see themselves as Igbo , a lot of ikwerre celebrities and prominent people have said they are Igbo
and as for delta , I've seen an ika man who says he's Igbo

but b4 u can say they aren't Igbo , ask them why they speak ,Igbo ,bear Igbo names and have Igbo culture and traditions ,

and note don't give me a vague response like , if a black American speak English does that make him an English man , we know the reason why they speak English

but can u tell me why those in delta and river have Igbo culture but say they aren't Igbo?
and if they aren't Igbo what are they?
and can they prove it?

and also what do u think Igbo is?

lol, wenem truth is ikwerre is NOT igbo, n im not saying that cuz my mum told me am not igbo, i did research and found out what you said is true, same language doesnt mean same tribe, a good example is in rivers state where the ijaw people of bonny n opobo have adopted igbo as their language, that doesnt mean they are igbo

infact ive noticed the only people that call ikwerre igbo are either politicians for political advantage or ignorant nigerians or some(not all)Igbo people that want to force ikwerre as part of them so they can claim ph and access to the sea

lol so can u please tell me why u speak Igbo
and please give me a direct answer not all those
because I speak English does that make me an English man answer

I want to know directly why u don't just speak ,Igbo but bear Igbo names and cultures

abi u want to say u were colonized and we forced it down ur throat and up ur asses

and also if ur not Igbo then what are u ?
Benin? , if so do u have concrete proof or link to Benin , no need answering this question cause I know the answer is no , there is no evidence supporting a Benin origin ,

so why aren't u Igbo then? and why did u suddenly realise it after the civil war?

must everytribe in nigeria have bini or igbo origin? Its clear youve not been carefully reading the other post b4 dis point, ok look at ikas, their language, culture is half igbo half edo, they bear igbo as well as edo names like (abba, ozegbe, ikhans) but its only igbos that always lay claim, wat makes u think they r not bini pepo who were influenced by igbo cuz of closeness, why must it be the other way round cuz igbos say itz so

what weve been trying 2 say is if Igbos only proof that ikwerre is igbo is cuz they speak igbo n bear igbo names, then they have no proof at all, cuz in terms of culture(ancient beliefs, way of life n doing things, dressing, dance, food) ikwerre is closer to the riverine tribes(ijaw, ogoni) than igbos

well, as for why ikwerre speaks igbo, im think its due to closeness, maybe due to trading sometime ago, im not so sure, but whatever the reason, the MERE FACT THAT WE SPEAK SAME LANGUAGE DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE US SAME TRIBE, why cant u guyz understand dat?

are you not aware that the SS tribes were quick to lose their language n culture to adapt a foreign one, they readily adapted some words n dressing from even the portugese, today niger deltans wear hat n hardly their traditional headwear, in their cities they even sacrificed their languages for pidgin, they were quick to lose their culture

ika may ve readily lost their culture for edo n igbo influence, nobody knows for sure, so dont say 'cuz dey r more igbo than edo' they might b neither.

despite what anyonelse choose to believe, I know people from SS understand these points, the monotribic nature of the SE n SW is what has made der thinking so narrowed n small minded(no offense)

forget ss or ika for now
and u haven't really answered my question

like I said when u see two people 100km away speak the same language then there is a connection, let's say u see me ( an Igbo ) speak English , I'm not English cause I already have a first identity an ORIGINAL identity with an ORIGINAL source , English is my second language but the fact that I speak English says there something connecting me to the English . why do Nigerians speak English ? because we were colonized by them !!!! there's the connection!
if a person speaks English is either he learnt if from an English person or a person who learnt it from someone who learnt it from an English person etc .. but overall all ENGLISH will always be traced back to England!!

U heard that ENGLISH WILL ALWAYS BE TRACED BACK TO ENGLAND!!!

SO IGBO WILL ALWAYS BE TRACED BACK TO IGBOLAND !!!

culture is a powerful thing ,it's the only thing that separates people , afterall the ONLY difference between a Yoruba and Igbo man is CULTURE

so let me ask u what is the ikwerre culture ?
Igbo!! , and like I've said igbo will always be traced back to Igboland

so what's ur story ?!
what's ur trace ?!
how do ur people trace back to Igboland ?!

u define a person by their culture , that's all that separates them from every other person , culture involves name , language , traditions and such

now it's Very possible for people to adopt new cultures , cultures grow and die , identity changes , u accept ur new culture and identity

if a Scottish , goes to England for permanent settlement and gives birth there and his children which normally would be Scottish start to bear English names , speak English overall have the English culture , they could be said to be English !!

do u think every English person has the same origin , do u think every Igbo has the same Nri origin !

who cares what u might have been before , u are defined by what u are now! , what u say and do , what we hear and see

when we hear and see Igbo we immediately think Igbo

when an ikwerre man says he's not Igbo the first thing that comes to every single person in the universes mind is but u have the Igbo culture , u speak Igbo and bear Igbo names

it's a self mechanism, because it seems like ur denying the realties on ground

so I've been trying to tell u why ur igbo so can u tell me for real why ur not , without comparisons ,like ika and such cause u always bring up comparisons

be straight with me

-if isoko n urhobo r diff, ibibio n annang r diff, then ikwerre n igbo r diff, whenever u come to SS you'll understand what am saying, (here we dont hear isoko person answer ufuoma, n tell her since ufuoma is an urhobo name meaning same tin in isoko, then isoko is urhobo, dat logic is wrong)

now saying ikwerre not having Igbo culture is an inaccuracy and u know that , and when u say u have the culture of the riverine tribes , that is also In accurate too and to vague a response

now like u said an "isoko person" that answers urhobo name is not urhobo do u know why?! because that person is an isoko person !( I just said that in the beginning of the sentence)
we already know who he is , u can only have one major identity

if a Nigerian speaks English that person is not an English man do u know why? cause they are Nigerians

u can adopt or borrow name from another tribe but at least u still know ur ORIGINAL identity and it's not like the whole tribe has that name or does all isoko have urhobo names ? or do all Nigerians have English names ?

but u see ikwerre is different u all have Igbo names and cultures and those are ur only culture , right now u don't have any other sources any other sign that links u to another culture , nothing!!!!
that's why I asked if ur not Igbo then what are u? because u must be something ( a Nigerian is not an English man because he is Nigerian he already has an original identity)

and something original

cultures have original sources , the isoko , urhobo and whatever have their own sources

the Igbo have Nri as their source
, Yoruba have oduduwa as theirs

what is the ikwerre source?

u keep saying just because ikwerre have Igbo name and speak Igbo doesn't make them Igbo
like u borrowed the languages or were forced to adopt them , well if u adopted it , when did u adopt it ? , what were ur structures before then , did ikwerre have obas instead of obi?
what were u before u became like this?

if u want ikwerre to be seen as a different and unique ethnic tribe then it must actually be different and unique! because right now u ain't so different from the rest of us and u know that

ure also wrong ikwerre dont all bear igbo like names, we have namrs like ovunda, weli, epirikom, nzeremunda, wenigho, e.t.c n since isoko is seperate identity from urhobo, we have seperate identity from igbo

Again, i doubt uve stayed with ikwerre people, our culture is not solely igbo, food, dance, sound, dressing is more like riverine tribes, lifestyle n aspects of our culture is influenced by dese riverine tribes(der r too many 4 me to name). All this long talk, this is a simple logic, efik is not ibibio, isoko is not urhobo, ikwerre, ukwuani, ika are not igbo (fullstop)

Oga Ovunda is Obinna and Al these names are the same with Igbo weli is nweli

But once again Ikwerre isn't igbo. We don't even see how important they are in Ibo scheme because they have nothing to offer and also please who told you that Ukwuani isn't Igbo ...my mum is from Ukwuani and she see herself as igbo

So speak for yourself and your ogogoro drinking cult infested ikwerre

Please tell me one just one Intellectual of international repute from ikwerre

Oh our oyel ! Can you tell me one Ikwerre man that has an oil drilling firm not even oil well or oil marketing like capital oil ...I mean drilling firm !

Ikwerre are like butterfly thinking they Re bird

Very backward folks that's why Igbo call it Ikwere ihuruho....you know the meaning of ihuruho
