Someone somewhere has got something bad to say about any car whatsoever, the main question is who's talking and who's listening.

5years straight now, no leg pull. Take good care of your vehicle and it'll serve.

Good day guys. Please how much does side mirror cost for a 2007 Honda DC? Also i need advice. I recently got the car and it has 215 sized tyres which is large and i hear it is meant to carry 205. Any side effects of this? Do i need to change all tyres to 205?

you should only complain if

1. All four or five tyres aren't same size

2. If the tyre is affecting the car by touching the tyre arc or wall there by melting the mud flaps/plastic inner cover

3. if turning to right or left and the wheels touch the car body, this could cause wrapping or contour on the tyres.

If you have the side mirrors that have the trafficator lights those ones cost circa 25-30k for both sides

The usual one without lights costs 15-20k for both

Absolutely agree Sir.

7 years of using a 2003 Honda Accord as a daily driver.. and counting.

Never had a single occurrence of 'tire pulling'.

I had a good friend who bought a 2003 corolla around the same time I bought my Accord. He vehemently opposed the idea of me buying Honda then, but if you know you know. After we bought our cars, anytime he saw me, he would ask if 'that thing' has happened to my car and I would laugh.

Today, he has grown tired of asking me if my car's leg has 'pulled', because it just didn't happen in spite of the incredible work rate of my Accord. Truth is, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Maintenance and driving habits is everything.

Honda is really cool, if you pay attention to regular maintenance. Some people buy cars and will never read the manual!!.. Shey na Kazeem wey nor go school go read manual?

The caveat is that you must buy a car in good condition ab-initio. You may need experienced individuals to help you assess a vehicle before purchase. I have done this for a couple of close friends and they remain trouble free.

This is a live testimony and very true.

Cheers!

Why not add the specifics of your car?

Different cars, different manufacturer recommendations.

First transmission fluid change (assuming car bought brand new) should be done at 96,000 km

Subsequent transmission fluid changes should be done every 48,000 km

Therefore, you should change your transmission fluid every 48,000km using ATF-DW1.

In other words, for a tear rubber gearbox change the transmission fluid after 5 years and for a ‘tokumbo’ gearbox you should flush and change it’s fluid every 3 years.

1) Buy a clean title, direct tokunbo or brand new car. That way, you can be close to 100% sure that the car has OEM ball joints, which last longest.

2) If you bought your Accord Nigerian used, you must have the ball joints examined to rule out wear. If worn, replace with OEM ball joints. OEM ball joint is expensive, but less likely to fail prematurely and their performance is worth it.

3) By all means, avoid speeding over potholes. You may be tempted to do it when you see other road users doing the same. However, you must understand the nature of the car you drive and behave accordingly. That way, your ball joints will last longer.

4) It is possible to pump grease into the rubber boot of your ball joints once in, say 6 months. This helps reduce friction between the bearings, such that ball joint lasts longer.

5) Avoid turning your steering to the last stop as frequently as possible.

Cheers!
