Is this a welcome development from our government??

Misplaced priority. Don't they know that many of the poor depends on Okirika for their clothing??

Foolish government

This is very wrong..where was Nigeria custom when the pass through all available routes to the last destination..

And they will even quote a non existing law that empowers them to break down peoples warehouses and shops as well as patrol at midnight.

so basically you are saying, one a thief has successfully committed a crime and left the scene, his sins are forgiven?

anyway the answer to your question is ....... waiting for them at the market...shebi they will want to sell the smuggled items? Why chase them up and down the border when you know their shop?

Why didn't they go to Alaba to accuse them of importing fake or used electronics? If your people don't follow the laws of the land, why not keep quiet instead of playing the victim card all the time!

There's a ban on okrika or tokunbo clothes! Those selling it already know!

Even that same Yaba market when I was in school, Igbo boys there defrauded us several times with shoe pins... From N100, they change the agreement after doing the work to 1000, you start begging them to accept N500 for a shoe or sandal u brought for N300. They would sexually molest girls walking on the road pulling their hands and breasts. They will beat you if you complain or attempt to stand against them. They killed a Lagos state official before the market was declared illegal. Please just keep quiet.

This is why the latest trend for any young couple in Nigeria is to relocate abroad.

How does this govt want the middle class or the poor to survive when good, stable jobs are so hard to find?

This is so cruel.

I remember the days of Tejuosho market where you can find almost anything you want at very good price(s) till Tinubu destroyed it for reasons best known to him.
