Customs Impounds Over 4800 Bales Of Second Hand Clothes In Yaba Market, Lagos by ikorodureporta: 4:20pm On Dec 30, 2019
The Joint border drill has confiscated more than 4800 bales of second hand clothings valued at three billion naira from Yaba market in Lagos.

The Customs Coordinator, Western Zone, Assistant Comptroller General, Bukar Amajan, explained that the seizure was made possible through intelligence report.

More than 4800 bales of second hand clothings impounded from a single location.

The Customs coordinator of the border drill says these were picked up from Yaba market where smugglers had stockpiled them.

Describing second hand clothings as absolutely prohibited items, he challenged the owners of the consignment to come forward with any document to prove these goods were brought into the country legitimately.

Government still maintains a ban on the importation of second hand clothings into Nigeria from either the seaports, airports or land borders and Customs insist it will continue to effect seizures wherever they are found.

Fair enough.
Most of the traders will get there their goods back then.

The owners should simply come up with the legimate documents on these imported goods, and get their goods back.....simple!

We hope they act fast enough before the bales grow wings.

Another attack on Igbo businesses yet again
kunkelhanspeter:
Crack down on igbos business
Here this boy goes again with his tribalistic comments.
We have thousands of yorubas and hausas doing business at Yaba market.

FFK has played with some people's brain the way he feels.
This is the FFK effect.
The Chief Tribalistic bigot.

You are the same boy that says PMB closed border so we igbos won't be able to travel home for Christmas and different kinda poo!

What some people will cause with tribalistic and religious 'ish' in this nation, they won't be here to see it to the end.
Let us leave tribalism out of National issue biko.

Describing second hand clothings as absolutely prohibited items, he challenged the owners of the consignment to come forward with any document to prove these goods were brought into the country legitimately.
Fair enough.

F117nighthawk:

Guess ur brain isn't being brainwashed or filled with native juju, is it only Igbos that deal or sell second hand clothings or items in Lagos?
These is how u people with be putting tribal sentiments to all issues
eduman365:

Why didn't they go to Alaba to accuse them of importing fake or used electronics? If your people don't follow the laws of the land, why not keep quiet instead of playing the victim card all the time!

There's a ban on okrika or tokunbo clothes! Those selling it already know!

Even that same Yaba market when I was in school, Igbo boys there defrauded us several timeswith shoe pins... From N100, they change the agreement after doing the work to 1000, you start begging them to accept N500 for a shoe or sandal u brought for N300. They would sexually molest girls walking on the road pulling their hands and breasts. They will beat you if you complain or attempt to stand against them. They killed a Lagos state official before the market was declared illegal. Please just keep quiet.
Coldie:

This is pure foolishness though.
If u keep making it about we Igbos its going to continue being an Igbo thing

Thanks for lecturing him.
We can only continue to pray for their likes.

Here is a link to the same thing that happened in the North and no Hausa person dare come out to say the government was persecuting them... That was even over 300 BILLION naira and this Yaba issue is less than 10% of that.
Tribalistic Bigots everywhere!!
